[WARNING: Big, long post]
When City Living came out, I was intrigued with GeekCon because it had CosPlayers.
I went out and collected a bunch of fun custom costumes for my sims and I built a special lot for them to hangout using Get Together game play. I really loved it.
It's a Cybercafe. Besides coffee and scones, sims can use computers, tablets, play arcade games, watch movies on the big screen, and kids can play void critters. In addition, it is a hangout for teens and young adults where they can show off their costumes for GeekCon.
I imagine that the owner of this business feels cosplayers are good for business, so he/she encourages and supports them.
When we got more information about Get Famous, I knew it would send my CosPlayers support lot over-the-top awesome.
The green-screen, the actor's marks, the wardrobe and make up objects, have expanded what I can do on this lot.
I even have access to special effects:
I now have access to a wide variety of costumes for my cosplay sims.
And they can act out scenes.
The initial intent for this lot was to simply dress up, socialize, and take pictures to hang on the walls at home.
But with Get Famous, they can do so much more.
I intend to bring the media objects into this.
They can have the drones record what they are doing here and then upload videos to share with their followers.
Of course they will be covering GeekCon when it happens.
So now Cosplay is a bigger deal in their lives.
Actors in the making.
I tried other options on the wardrobe platform...
But they were random options for regular clothing, not useful for CosPlay.
I was hoping for access to CAS. This will be useful in a clothing boutique however.
When I want to get specific with custom content, I can use the wardrobe closet.
Unfortunately the green-screen has size issues.
I scaled it down, but the image is still huge. I need to expand the lot.
"Yes, expand the lot, please."
I'll do more than that.
I am moving it. Del Sol Valley makes more sense than Windenburg for this lot.
Studio BPB has been moved to the Pinnacles to make room for my CosPlay lot.
I wasn't crazy about this public area behind the residence anyway, so it seems better suited for a community lot.
I added a back door for easy access to the rear area.
Liza?
You are little people, Cassandra.
Better luck next time.
My pirate cosplay crew are off to the cosplay lot.
Need cars, this is to far to travel by foot.
My lot gets more breathing room and room to expand if we get more content I can use in future packs.
The layout has improved overall.
This is still a cafe, so get your snack on.
I had to remove the theater in the old lot.
Now they can have it back.
And this is what I originally built the lot for.
I never imagined this.
Just something to play with.
Duel actor scenes tend to find random sims on the lot to play the part.
I'll just pretend the regular customers get to have fun with the cosplayers.
I had to see those laser swords, even it they were for the wrong costume.
These are the wrong swords too.
And when a celebrity shows up...in disguise...?
...they can get a nice picture for their celebrity wall.
But there is more [A lot more]
down there VVV.
Comments
Vanessa isn't one of my sims, but I had them add her to the group and join in on the fun.
And a photo-op.
When GeekCon finally rolled around, Monique was the only one available to go.
But the others joined in as they got off work.
They finished up GeekCon with Karaoke.
Now deciding which pictures to sell and which to keep.
I love reading about your gameplay and seeing how you style your sims. Glad you're back in the game. At least for now.

I was inspired to take my Cybercafe even further after seeing one of the major sets in action at the film studio.
I removed my dance club from this location because the Cybercafe needed the entire area of the lot to use the large green-screen.
My dance club is now in this location, which makes more sense because of the parking lot.
I have VIPs coming to this club and the limousines adds to the lot.
Switcheroo!
Olivia gave out a coincidental gasp of surprise when she walked in.
Not only did I add a larger green screen, I put in one of the sets.
Let's test it out, ladies.
Out come the photosabers... photoswords...
Lightsabers! dang it.
Monique is acting out a death scene.
She looks like she has stage fright.
And... everyone drops their swords:
Funny!
Let's try that again.
Positions!
These two are going to fight from long distance.
It's a bug, but an interesting bug.
Alright, this looks good.
Awesome.
Weird,
but I don't mind.
Oops. More sword drops.
"These things are real?"
That kind of what it looks like.
Monique looks like she is checking for missing fingers.
I am impressed with the sets. I don't know if I will changed this one.
Maybe if I get bored with the lot. The Geek toy and collectable area is a bit weak, but it was just there for show and immersion.
The wardrobe and makeup objects are in this area.
I will probably also use it to randomize outfits when they go to the dance clubs down the street.
Olivia is simply having too much fun.
Let's take this tour upstairs.
I think I might make my theater area look more like a theater.
The cafe area is nicer with more space.
The old version was a bit messy, as far as routing goes.
I love that the back drops are animated.
You can see planes, birds, and smoke in motion.
I gave some of the computers a little more privacy.
Everyone is updating their social networks.
The old version had a rocket-ship out front, but the need for more space removed it.
GeekCon has one, so they can take space trips from there.
Meadow gives an impromptu performance.
It's wacky that music comes out of nowhere, but I like it.
It's so funny how Yuki is throwing Meadow so much hate.
Meadow did give her an unsolicited autographed photo the other night.
It left a bad impression, I guess.
I'm glad I left this open space.
I am going to miss this view that my VIP room used to have on top of the dance club .
The switch was for the best.
Hating hard, Yuki.
Hating hard.
I was a bit surprised that sims were passing out over Meadow, but she is nearly a 3 star celebrity now.
How is it that her sister is going gaga over someone who isn't Gaga?
Gosh it's almost 3 am.
I need to get back to regular game play.
Love this lot though.
This has been a fun pack so far.
I'm not sure I want to try to play four wannabe celebrities again, but trying out their different approaches to fame is interesting.
I have been distracted by my Dance club and this cybercafe, but now I can get back to playing.
when you get done tinkering with that lot, you're going to put it up on the gallery, right?
Yes, I will upload it.
I still have some more play-testing and refinement to go and then I will scrub it of CC and replace the missing objects and textures.
Could you post the CC list here when you do upload it?
I still wish we had a costume category in CAS.
I have been using the party category to keep my cosplay costumes.
My party clothes are sharing the Formal category. So when I have sims not under my control on the lot, like Vanessa, I can just ask to see their party outfit.
I will have other cosplay groups hanging out at this lot, so mys sims aren't the only ones.
I do prefer the CC costumes because I find it fun to inject a little popular culture into my sims game--either spoofing it or injecting it directly in.
Overwatch has been a thing for a while now, but I still like dressing them up in Overwatch outfits, even though I don't play the game myself. I'm not into MMOs.
This stuff is mainly about giving my teens more things to do.
Which they will probably carry on in the earlier parts of the young adult stage between University breaks.
They will be poor actors initially, so there will be lots of flubs, but working on acting skills gives a little game-play to cosplaying.
These two messed up even while playing it safe.
There are only so many interactions that make sense for this set, so eventually this will get old.
But I can always try another set to freshen things up. I will try the apocalyptic set next if I ever get bored of this one.
But since cosplayers would rather pose than risk their delicate costumes in action scenes, posing will be a thing.
Get Famous really delivers in this aspect.
Strike a pose.
Which will trigger the paparazzi, if they have any fame.
Working on those acting skills, and later they can act out scenes for fame points when they skill up.
Play time is over.
You can go now Vanessa, but change out of that outfit, so I don't see you walking around in it.
But it doesn't end there.
Going home, there is more to do to make this even more immersive.
Video blogs.
I'm having her do a fashion blog, which I can give cosplay related tittles.
She can also use her drone to record video and live-stream GeekCon and other activities.
So...
Get To Work--Mannequins, wardrobe closet
Get Together--Clubs, Cafes
City Living--GeekCon festival
Get Famous--Movie sets, costumes/makeup, acting skill, action animations, fame, paparazzi, drones, video station, etc.
Are all working together to give this simple idea a heck of a lot more depth.
I'm amazed by it all. I'm also amazed at how I am into it.
I wonder what we will get next that may be useful. It would be nice to have a sewing machine.
Witches!
Cosplayers that can work with magic effects and more costumes.

I am about to remove my mods folder now and see just how much CC that place has.
I think it's just a few rugs and textures. I hope I fan find something nice to replace them.
CyberCafe Del Sol V2 has been uploaded and it's CC free.
And it has the worst thumbnail a lot can possibly have.
https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/gallery/76E37F0CEFA411E88500ADD8C8E84D99
Once you have installed it and visited the lot,
You have to click on the green screen to select the background you want for the movie studio set.
But it looks good without CC.
I just might use it instead and perhaps touch it up with just a few CC items for myself.
Yes, I went to the creators tumbler trying to find it.
It's buried beneath tons of other posts and her link to her collections isn't working.
I did a search and got this list of all her stuff (Wingly Simmer}.
I already have a lot of it, but never used these links. Finding old CC is often a sketchy process.
https://simfileshare.net/folder/2370/
I mainly like the DVA, Tracer, Mercy, and Mercy Devil outfits.
If you try to use shoes or boots other than what belongs to the outfits, the textures will spread over the costume.
So no mixing and matching with other cas items.
After all this time there may be newer and better versions by other creators, so you may want to search around for sources you trust.
I've only been to one GeekCon so far, but didn't pay much attention to what the others were wearing.
I do have a few pictures and only saw the typical GeekCon costumes from City Living.
Do the actor marks work off of the studio set?
You could create a library save of the same building with a different "stage" setup in each, space, apocalypse, pirate, etc. Then, as you want to play a different theme, just change out the buildings.
