Ok so I'm honestly loving it. The many, many ways to get famous, the perks and quirks, how difficult it is to rise to fame, the impact it has on so many other packs and .. uch .. it's lovely, it really is! I was worried it would be bland or shallow, but I'm having so much fun with this.

The Reputation System and the Fame System alone is already worth the 40 bucks. The challenge it had to build up your reputation and your fame is already awesome! The fact that you can progress your reputation level and the world change around you based on your reputation is awesome, and will result for good and bad sims having a lot more depth when it comes to gameplay. I haven't played the Acting Career yet(and tbh, I only bought if for the reputation) yet these two system are a huge game changer. This pack reminded me of Get Together. This is one of the features/Packs that is very hard to show off, but once played, without cheats, that is where we started to see how big it is, and how deep it was adding to the gameplay. I don't care about the size of the pack.
If a pack appears small then I'm fine with it as long as it changes gameplay and adds new opportunities for expandable gameplay rather than a huge pack that has so many features that I will play only once. My hope, is they add more systems into the game that contributes to sims personality, and integrates a lot of features that we will and already had to provide us the best level of experience. Congrats on The Sims Team.

I really agree with these statements personally. The best thing about fame and reputation is that they affect all sims, across all different careers and thanks to the added cheats, in exactly the way you want it. I am so very fond of this pack, not necessarily because of the fame (although also), but because of the way it deepens every single career. And since I love playing different careers and having my sims really excel in their respective fields, it's just perfect for me. Even long after the novelty of acting will have worn off. There's in fact so many changes to the way I play that I had to put ageing on pause just so I can switch between my families without worrying they'll die on me while I get totally lost in another one for a few sim weeks xD
My main sim Ezra has been a professional musician since he was a teen and it only makes sense that he would become famous for his talent. But, before Get Famous I just imagined he was a celebrity and I was never was able to play that out in-game. Now that he's getting older and still continues to flaunt his talent, he's finally living the celebrity life that he deserves!!

I agree with you that the world size in terms of lots is disappointing. But the gameplay is, dare I say it, quite stellar. Still, I totally get where you're coming from. If you ever decide to get it, I hope you would enjoy it. And if not, then I hope the next world is larger again!

Thanks. I have decided to make it a subplot to his story where his wife and daughter got taken by aliens later they come back after he's famous, but they aren't quite the same.
I'll have to try it too. So far I have just taken to remaking the new world and setting things up. Not a fan of the new world though. It isn't a world I really like the look of I guess, but what I have played so far I like. I enjoy the fame part more than I thought I would.
I have seen you around here and am surprised that you aren't giving it a chance. Trust me I was one of those who thought the pack looked lacking but it actually has a lot of great game play. Yes the world is small but I'd hate for you to miss out on all the game play enhancements this pack adds!

Yes. There's no avoiding it if you go into CAS ever.

It is early days though, so I guess it may become a little more boring. But I had my sims first gig audition and the actual gig today and totally loved it.

True that. I don't think I could play the auditions 10 times, though I only let Frederik do auditions that require charm or musical talent so I'll have another sim do fitness related stuff I think xD I am however very excited that my sim can become famous developing video games, or making apps, or by playing music or by uploading and editing videos, or by having a famous restaurant (that will be the next thing I try xD) etc. So I think even after the novelty of acting wears off, which it will, for a career player like myself, this pack is perfect.
