did python update help simulation lag?

For those that have it in their game, is it better, or worse?

All mods will break according to MTS, so you might want to remove all of them and wait on updates for them if you have any.

Not all mods. But all script mods -- mods with .ts4script files -- will break, and then on top of that there are always nonscript mods and sometimes CC that break with an update. So if people do want to test some of the stuff in their Mods folder, they shouldn't bother with the nonscript ones. @LiELF has a new post up that talks about a safe approach to testing mods and CC to see if they still work: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/950915/reminder-to-everyone-for-todays-patch-11-13-18#latest

I don't think it was ever advertised to fix simulation lag, or improve anything at all, just that code needed to be updated and maintained.

If it DOES happen that will be a nice surprise.

So far it’s been much worse. Practically unplayable.

It seems better on my end to be honest. My sims no longer stand around for 2-4 sim hours between queued actions.

So far seems better for me as well, but it might depend on the system you play on.

It's also faster for me. Especially the first loading screen that loads the main menu.

It feels better for me personally, but I think that’s because I got rid of all my mods and cc, starting fresh! Therefore I don’t think it was the patch?

    I've also seen an improvement.

Nope, it got worse. I have sims still standing still doing nothing when there are things in their que. The only fix has been to to go to manage worlds and reload the household.

I can only speak of San Myshuno currently, since I've never had an lag in other worlds.

Since City Living released, I have maybe played in San Myshuno for a week total sim time. I tried two or three times to live there, and it would only last a couple days cause the lag would bug me so bad.

It was strange, cause I don't have lag in other worlds, but SM was just painful to be in. I kept my visiting SM to festivals and that's it.

Since the patch, I have only played in San Myshuno. I have 4 families, in 4 apartments. I have played several sims weeks, and not one ounce of lag. Nothing. Completely smooth as all my other worlds.

It wasn't a big issue for me pre patch but I did notice sims occasionally taking a few seconds to respond. I haven't seen that in game so far but will definitely look for it next time I play.

To all the people reporting improvement, did you start new saves after the patch? Or did you try it out in your existing ones?

Existing one. This was a new save I started after Cats and dogs came out.

Running perfectly - but then I did not have any lag issues before patch either. Sometimes my Sim had to be told to do something she'd drop from que - that has stopped completely now. She does what ever I tell her to without dropping any commands. So that is definitely an improvement.

I really though didn't have most issues people reported though, to be fair - in any world. I also don't use game cheats, mods or CC in my game either since Sims 4 came out - so never had any issues that might have been caused by some of those things. Like patches have never been an issue or being connected to Origin when I play has never caused me problems.

It seems better but on my PC I haven't had simulation lag at all anymore. On my reasonably well specced laptop I did have it in San Myshuno but that seems better too :)

Existing save - I was having the clock jumping back and forth in fast mode while my Sims were asleep or at work, and slowing way down during the day, if I was speeding through something boring (like watching a Sim read). The patch has definitely improved that. There's still a little wonkiness, but fast mode is behaving as advertised - fast.
I just want things to match. :'(
