I have installed the following Expansion Packs: All

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All except Katy Perry

I own the following Store Content: I have a lot of items, but I'm also missing some items. I'm not quite sure how to say what I have and don't have (how would I do this?). I know for a fact that I have a lot more of the items and sets than I have of the clothes in the store. I've been placing preference over the build and buy items first because I figured the clothes could come later.

ETA: Taking a page from Ziristha's book and adding the sets I don't own or only own some of:
Everyday Teen's Collection, Everyday Kids Collection, Everyday - Cool Summer Nights, Everyday Casual Chic, Luxury Spa Set, Luxe Lounge Spa, Jet Set, Jet Set Teens, Haute Hip, Diva and Duo, Collectionne Stäncké, Runway Riot, Mother Russia, One with Nature, Beach Bummin',
Sun, Surf & Sand (Swim + Sleep), Fifth Avenue Fashions, Old Town: Starter Kit, Ragtime in the Big Easy, Japanese Inspired Living Compilation, Japanese Inspired Clothing Collection, Safari Living Set, African Inspiration Collection, Vineyard Villa Furnishings, Mediterranean Villa Kitchen/Dining, Hollywood Regency Den, Morocco Mystique and Cante Captivating, Hacienda Luxury, Zen Again, Transport to the Future, Pushin' Petals, Tutor of Tutors, Once Upon a Time Cottage, All of the futureshock stuff, Steampunk: the Return, Through the Spy Glass, Through the Spy Glass Bathroom, Faire Folk Furnishings + Attire, Victorian Fashions, Homecoming, Romanza Bridal Party, When Worlds Collide Collection, Atomic Age Living and Dining, Boho Vintage Men's Collection, Boho Vintage Women's Collection, Jazz Age Living Room + Jazz Wear, Club Vaindenburger Relaxation (Den + Study), Full Storybrook Set, Brunch at the Old Mill
I have singular items for most of this sets, so if you see something you really want to use you can feel free to ask ADWilson :) I just put them there because I don't own the whole set.

Venues I don't own: Last Venue of Amore, The Boardwalk, Grandpa's Grove, Grim's Ghastly Manor, Business as Usual Bistro, Lucky Simoleon Casino, Gothique Library, and Olympian Physique.

I know that most of you most of or the whole store, so I hope that this list helps. I guess my present is going to be challenging in that regard. I'm slowly working on getting everything, but I'm currently waiting on Grandpa's Grove to go on sale.

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All of the store worlds

Some of my favorite colors are: I love all colors, but I'm really into bright colors, pastels, etc. Blue is my favorite! But do what you think looks good, and I'm sure I'll love it.

I really don’t like this color: I don't mind any colors.

I love to use items from this set: I like using all the items I have, but if someone doesn't have those items then I'll be sure not to use them. Some of my favorite items to use are from the Bakery set.

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: My favorite worlds are Moonlight Falls and Appaloosa Plains, and Twinbrook. I just really love the small town, atmospheric feel of those worlds.

I enjoy playing in this custom world (please include link): I don't really play in custom worlds that much.

I enjoy this style of build the most: (Examples: Craftsman, Victorian, Modern) Craftsman, Victorian, Farmhouses. I prefer more traditional builds than super modern ones because I feel like they fit better with the worlds I prefer to play in.

I really don’t want this in my game: I won't mind anything! Variety is always fun!

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: Tiny lots are fine, but I think I prefer average size lots. I really prefer my sims to have a backyard space with some activities. And I don't think my computer would appreciate really large lots.

I want/don’t want berry sims: I'd rather not have berry sims, I prefer more human sims. Occult sims can be more like what they're supposed to look like!

I want/don’t want occult sims: Any occult sims are fine with me.

I want/don’t want pets in the household: I love pets in households! I'm a horse person in real life. I love horses, dogs, cats. You can add whatever your heart desires!

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? A couple of points to support the type of sim/pet you create.

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? If you're creating a creative sim, it would be nice for them to have some points in painting or a musical instrument. But I'm open to all sorts of sims! I typically create sims that are always 'nice' so it would be cool to have sims that cause some trouble or drama in the neighborhood to keep things interesting!

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? Cooking is one of my favorite skills in the game, as well as gardening to go with it.

Other: I'm a pretty easy going person, so I'm sure I'll love what you create! I wouldn't mind sims or builds. I'm all for going out of my comfort zone and trying something new. I also would like it to be non-holiday themed so I can use it all year round, however a few holiday decorations that are easily removed are fine!

You know I am in the mood to create for someone else, let's just hope I still have my building skills :P

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: ALL

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All except diseal stuff and Katy Perry Sweet treats

I own the following Store Content: All

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All except Barnacle Bay

Some of my favorite colors are: I love blue, but I also love pastel's and creams/whites. Darker tones I love in the right environment, like a vampire home or an old Victorian.

I really don’t like this color: I don't really have a color I don't like but i'm not found of bright neon colors or busy patterns

I love to use items from this set: I love using all the fantasy/whimsical sets like once upon a time or make a wish. One set I've never gotten around to using but would like to but just haven't found the right build for is the storybook set

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: I like playing in all the worlds, I just choose a world based on the story I have in mind for the sim or from the vibe I get from the sim.

I enjoy playing in this custom world (please include link):

I enjoy this style of build the most: (Examples: Craftsman, Victorian, Modern) I love Victorians, Victorian Gothic, Cottages especially Fairy Tale Cottages, Cabins

I really don’t want this in my game: there's not really anything I can think of

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: (If you’re a fan of tiny lots, then here is a great place to mention that! If larger lots make your game lag while loading them, mention it!) any size up to 40x40 but no smaller than 20x30 for residential lots only exception is farms if you want to make a large farm or ranch you can go larger, no smaller than 20x30 for community lots

I want/don’t want berry sims: I do love berry sims so if you want to make some it's fine with me.

I want/don’t want occult sims: (Be sure to specifically list those that you are fine with or mention which ones you don’t want to see in your game!) I LOVE occult's, just no mummies please.

I want/don’t want pets in the household: (Like cats more than dogs? Prefer cute puppies to horses? Don’t want any critters? Mention it!) Any pet is fine, but I love unicorns.

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? (Example: A couple of points, but not maxed out) oh I don't mind, if you see the sim/pet having certain skills please give it to them. It will allow me to see your vision of the sim/pet more.

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? (Example: A few points in Cooking would be nice so sims don’t burn the grilled cheese and can make more than a mean bowl of cereal!) I don't mind I'll leave this up to my buddy as I don't mind either way.

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? (Example: I love having sims that can cook, garden, paint and write so having those skilling objects would be awe-sim!) I don't have any particular items that are a must but if you create a sim and say she/he is into racing horses than it be nice to have some horse racing items in the build.

Other: (Describe here anything that you’d really like that might or might not have been previously mentioned!)
One idea that comes to mind is a resort but one that makes it seem like my sims stepped into a fairy tale, maybe along with it an amusement park that could be placed next to it or across from it, I like playing with families so maybe a park with a stage so I can send performers to it as well, that's really all I can think of at the moment. I love fantasy and whimsical so anything to do with those will be perfect. I also love beaches and going scuba diving in isla paradiso and I love having sims take photos to put around the house makes it feel more homey to me.

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: All

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All except Katy Perry Sweet Treats

I own the following Store Content: A LOT of it, probably less of the clothes than other stuff. Can pick up something you might use if I don't have it. A few sets I don't own and don't want are the casino/Las Vegas-ish stuff (except I do have the poker and roulette tables), through the looking glass (although I have a few small decor pieces from those), and futureshock.

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All

Some of my favorite colors are: I love blues and greens and shades in between, lavenders and purples that are on the blue side, as well as neutrals. I prefer subtle, muted shades and pastels.

I really don’t like this color: Any color is OK, but if it's in the red/orange/reddish purple family or something very bright or intense, I'd probably rather only see it in small accents that add a bit of a color pop rather than whole walls of it or flooring, etc.

I love to use items from this set: I use a lot of different things, but I always seem to find a spot for *something* from the Contemporary Comfort sets, the Bayside kitchen stuff, BahHaus, I like anything related to gardening/farming that comes from the store. I keep thinking of more things, but I'm going to stop there LOL.

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: I'm never sure what to say here. Basically, I don't play the built worlds. I have stripped versions of them that I build up myself. Recently, I've done a version of Sunset Valley that uses a lot of Greencats' Barnacle Bay builds, plus some similar styles by others and myself in the waterfront area and parts of the downtown, and then becomes more "suburban" as it goes back away from the water, and eventually goes to farms/cabins at the "back." I have it pretty well filled up, but not completely. The other town I am playing is my version of Moonlight Falls, which doesn't emphasize supernatural play, and I would call outdoorsy in terms of style (cabins on the outskirts, outdoor types of activities). It has a more conventional downtown area with a mix of older and newer styles (like from Victorian Houses to some contemporary businesses). But, again, I have it pretty well filled up, too. I'm wanting to play around with Isla Paradiso and/or Sunlit Tides and Appaloosa Plains sometime in the near future. I think I will keep their respective styles pretty much.

I enjoy playing in this custom world (please include link): I love a lot of them but don't have anything currently going on except Hylewood, which took me about a day to entirely fill up (it's very small) so we don't need to worry about this.

I enjoy this style of build the most (Examples: Craftsman, Victorian, Modern): I like a lot of styles really, from Victorians to Contemporaries. Cape Cods have a special place in my heart (I live in one). For a couple years, I've been rather into rustic and rustic contemporary type builds (and have some super builds along those lines made for me in past buddy gift exchanges, but I can use more. :) ).

I really don’t want this in my game: I guess those few mentioned excluded store sets above and overly huge and/or over-stuffed builds.

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: I like a variety of sizes. Small to medium are easier to find spots for on the map. I'm not really interested in having "just a house" on something like a 64 x 64, but would rather reserve those for farms/ranches or certain community lots.

I want/don’t want berry sims: Don't want. I've seen some really pretty and interesting berry sims, but I don't play them.

I want/don’t want occult sims: I play a few, and I have some I like to use. Basically, I'm not really looking for more right now, but if you have a great idea that includes an occult sim, I'm sure I'd love it. I just don't want werewolves, mummies or vampires. Oh, just remembered, I lack a genie and wouldn't mind trying one.

I want/don’t want pets in the household: I love the pets. Dogs, cats, horses (and unicorns) are all welcome. Fish are fine, too. The small pets that sims keep walking off with in their pockets, drive me a bit batty, because I worry about them losing them (yes, I'm weird about my pixels), so I only occasionally put one of those in. If you're making a household, it's easier for me if I only have to manage one or two pets. I'd really love some pretty horses or a unicorn.

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? A little skilling is fine if it fits the sim's (or pet's) background. I don't feel I have to start every sim as a blank slate. But, unskilled is quite OK, too.

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? A little cooking skill is nice to have right off the bat but isn't totally necessary. Otherwise, if it fits the sim's backstory, go for it if you like but don't feel you have to.

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? I tend to have a lot of cooking, gardening, painting, writing sims in my games, so anything that makes them feel at home is great. I always like to have an easel and chess set in my houses. On the flip side, sims that want to work out all.the.time drive me a little batty, so I'm very conservative about including any exercise equipment on home lots.

Other: I could use some fun community lots, especially looking forward to going to Isla Paradiso, Sunlit Tides, Appaloosa Plains. I tend to go more for family-type and dating-type places and am not so into night clubs or casinos. Parks and fishing spots with more to do than the usual EA varieties are always nice.

I lack a nice festival lot for my Sunset Valley town. Long story that I'll skip, but my big park is NOT a festival lot there, and so I placed the dome festival lot from the bin up where the military base was (because I put in a combo rabbithole that includes military), but it's not that great. A replacement for that lot would be wonderful to have.

I wouldn't mind a redo of the big park/festival lot for Moonlight Falls either. I did keep that basic area the same with the park, library, and city hall lots because I like how the layouts flow together, but the park itself doesn't really excite me, and as I said my town isn't really that supernatural oriented.

Festival lots aren't easy to make, and I don't expect one. I just thought I'd mention it in case it's your thing and you'd *like* to make one.

Another thing I could use would be, believe it or not, something interesting for a junk yard that would fit in a lot of places and not be too much of an eyesore. ;) It wouldn't need to be very big.

As for holidays, I don't put a lot of emphasis on the holidays in game and really don't need a place decorated for any of them. Enough space for Christmas trees, buffet tables for dinners, yard space for summer parties, etc., is always welcome. And, if you're feeling into the winter holiday spirit, just show me your stuff with a snowy background. ;)

Finally and most important . . . Just have fun and don't worry too much about what I want. :) I love seeing what people's imaginations bring forth, and sometimes the best thing for me is to try something new and unexpected.

@MiaSkywalker I'm sorry you're not up to participating this time but glad you'll be around. :)

@MsPrissy88 I'm also sorry you can't come play, but as everyone has said, we know moving is a huge deal. Hope it goes well and that you find some time to lurk and borrow some things for your game for later.

@ADWilson Thanks for taking this on again! Oh, and Toll House cookies are like the BEST cookies ever.

Last year I mixed milk chocolate with dark chocolate (I probably forgot to mention that I make a double batch!). Really good!! Even Mr Addy, who isn't a fan of dark chocolate, liked them.

Addie - You know I love these things but I am still a hot mess regarding the stuff with my hopefully soon to be ex-husband and my daughter. We go to sentencing on November 16th then we try to put the whole mess behind us and go on with our lives. This is easier said then done of course! So long story not so short I am going to sit this one out. BUT, should you need some help with someone - you know if someone needs extra help or someone bails on you ect. Let me know I can try to help. While I am a horrible builder, you know I love to make Sims with stories - so if I can help in anyway. Even if it is small stuff like marking off checks in and such, I can do that - I just do not want to join because building takes so much out of me. I am not fast, I always question myself ... a lot. I do it redo and do it again; my point is I don't want to be late again.
I know first hand how not fun it is to be there "waiting" for gifts while everyone else has their gifts. So let's call me the Festive Cheerleader! But, please no short short skirts my legs are much to white for that ;)

    @Mystik1978 :)
Glad to see your post! Not glad to read that certain things are still in process/weighing on you and have sent you a PM. Big Hugs!

    Welcome, Lead Festive Cheerleader!!
Hopefully a few lurkers will lurk no more and join you in shaking pom poms. That would be FUN.
Duties include spreading cheer here and there with posts to keep our Buddies inspired, motivated and in the mood.
No specific 'uniform' is required but I admit that I like the red top shown above. It would also look gorgeous in green or blue.
  • ADWilsonADWilson Posts: 6,755 Member
    **waves**
Goodness! A lot of lurkers out there, I see.
Feel free to un-lurk ... joining is easy. :)

Submit a Buddy Letter (use form letter found in post 4 on page 1).
Be assigned someone to make a gift for and someone is assigned to make a gift for you.
Keep name you were given a secret until gifting time.
Check-in during the three check-in days.
Reveal who you have by gifting them during gifting time.
Compliment, click recommend, download and ... enjoy your new game goodies.

    Easy, right?!
    Fun, definitely!
Hope to see YOUR letter soon!!

    @cmbaker16 - That made me think of the song, "Time is on my side!" So, just start singing "Luck is on my side! Yes it is!" ; }

@Mystik1978 - Good luck with everything. And, I love the cheer leading!

    I just saw this... :bawling:
I can't believe it's almost the deadline to submit the buddy letters and I just saw it, like I've been wanting to enter one of this for a very long time and it was about to go unnoticed by me!! :scream:
I'm not really a good builder but I promise I'll try my best! I'm just going to check if I can upload something to the exchange because it's been years since I uploaded anything :fearful: and then if it goes well I'll post my buddy letter

@Mystik1978 Nice rhyme! Fun picture :) Love those decorations and wish we had them in S3 ... the snowmen look like gingerbread people (cute!) and Santa would definitely be surfing in my area (it was 86 F here yesterday!).

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Glad you saw this in time to participate @Ziristha :)
**fingers crossed** that you're able to upload something and can add your Buddy Letter soon!

If the others are like me, they've also said "we're not a good builder" at some point. It takes time, practice/effort and the willingness to try something new-to-you in order to grow as a builder. Building for others is a great motivator for finishing a build project (I speak from personal experience!).

Looking forward to seeing what you can do as you experiment, learn and grow as a builder. Generic build questions can be asked in the thread but if it's specifically related to the Buddy gift, then send a PM to me.

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: All

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All But KPST

I own the following Store Content: All, (there is a few clothing items I don’t own, nothing to worry about though)

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All

Some of my favorite colors are: Creams, with browns, & pastels

I really don’t like this color: None

I love to use items from this set: I think it's called the Bayside set, I love the kitchen counters

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: I love most all the worlds, but Sunset Valley and Sunlite Tides are my most fav’d

I enjoy playing in this custom world (please include link): Legacy Island III, by @Rflong7 & @ruthless_kk Everything Island 2

I enjoy this style of build the most: (Examples: Craftsman, Victorian, Modern) I enjoy all styles of homes! Farm houses are my favorite I think!

I really don’t want this in my game: Can’t think of anything

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: (If you’re a fan of tiny lots, then here is a great place to mention that! If larger lots make your game lag while loading them, mention it!) I’m a fan of medium sized lots, but if it’s bigger then no worries my computer will handle it!

I want/don’t want berry sims: I’m not a big fan of the vampires or werewolves!

I want/don’t want occult sims: (Be sure to specifically list those that you are fine with or mention which ones you don’t want to see in your game!) Vampires and Werewolves are my least favorite

I want/don’t want pets in the household: (Like cats more than dogs? Prefer cute puppies to horses? Don’t want any critters? Mention it!) Love cats, dogs and horses! I forget to take care of the critters most of the time so they may or may not make it! But I love them all! (Birds best of all)

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? (Example: A couple of points, but not maxed out) Not necessary but you can if you want, it’s entirely up to you!

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? (Example: A few points in Cooking would be nice so sims don’t burn the grilled cheese and can make more than a mean bowl of cereal!) Not Really

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? (Example: I love having sims that can cook, garden, paint and write so having those skilling objects would be awe-sim!) I love sims that cook and garden, they are my favorite and brings back many memories of my first time playing Sims 3!

Other: (Describe here anything that you’d really like that might or might not have been previously mentioned!) Can’t think of anything at the moment

For example, a good thing to mention here is if you would like a holiday build. Mention the holiday, colors and/or traditions associated with it along with a brief explanation if it isn’t a well-known holiday. I wouldn’t mind a large dining area where my sims could have plenty of room to celebrate the holidays, but the build don’t have to be festive!

Doing a little bit of a memory walk this morning. :)
This is the 17th homemade gift exchange! That's a lot of Buddies and gorgeous gifts over the years!!!
Like @ciane I first joined/became a Buddy during the December 2012 event (2nd event ~ the first one was in December 2011).

    Today's question:
Do you have a favorite gift or tradition at this time of year?

For me, the answer is simple. The Nutcracker ballet.
My mom knew how much I love this and would take my brother and me each year she could afford to. Not easy being a young widow raising two children, especially with my brother who was intellectually disabled, but she did as best as she could with what she had. Thank you, Mom.

I so love the gift exchanges!! <3<3<3

I'm heartbroken that I won't be able to participate in this one due to a very busy month ahead for me.

I will be checking in from time to time, cheering along the way and of course I will be watching all the fun of seeing who got who and who makes what!

    Have fun everyone!
