How often do you play with pets in the household?

Often but it depends on the family. And I make sure the townies have pets, too.

@ThePinkBookGirl I did try the clickable pets mod. I loved it at first. I had to remove the mod because it was causing problems with my saves. It was the only mod I was using at the time.

About 1/5 of my households have pets in them.

Often. I absolutely love the cats! They do so much more than in Sims 2 (didn't play Sims 3) and I never had a desire to control them. I also love the extensive CAP. I've played a couple of households with dogs though, and I think they're great too. But I have a special love for my feline friends. I'm also more likely to play with a pet than a child or toddler.

I will say though, that the pet sickness does bother me as well, and I really wish it was something that didn't happen to strays, and only rarely in a pet's life span. It's quite annoying. After the next patch, I'll be looking for a new mod that neutralizes that.

I think if I had Seasons, I would play with them more often. It's hard for me to keep interest in a save after being spoiled with weather and the feeling of time passing after playing the other iterations.
I have scenarios in my head that I think I could really get into. For example, if I had Seasons and Laundry Day, I'm picturing a homeless hippie couple with a medium/large dog complete with the bandana around it's neck. :D

Witches would increase my play with pets, because, well...familiars. >:) I could also see a Werewolf family having dogs added to their pack should they ever be kind enough to complete the sacred occult triad!

Farming would also open up possibilities depending on what came in it. I would have dogs to "guard" the livestock and of course a "mouser" to protect harvested crops. ;)

I didn't play with pets in the first 3 versions of the game and I don't plan on playing them when I get C&D and MFPS.

In all of the Sims games, I rarely play with pets (even though I have pets in real life). My sibling does, though.

I just prefer toddlers over pets. (Pets sound too needy, and I don’t like that I can’t control the pets.)

Never these days. I like them but I have the glitch back where they're clogging up my sims' activities/interactions. My sims can't do anything without being harrassed by pets with their 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸 10 petting interactions in a row.

I don't like the strays in BB, I wish we could turn strays off completely. I literally hate that feature.
I actually disabled the pack because I don't want to see it, the pets remind me of the strays. Before I disabled it I didn't use BB after the initial sim to explore the world, I deleted all the preemades from that world and then ignored it.
It's a shame because it's quite different from the other world's with the beach setting but I can't help feeling bad with all the strays all over the place. Sick, dirty and usually hungry. It makes the game not fun and relaxing seeing it so I feel I wasted my money on the pack, but then there were strays in TS3 as well. Even though I don't remember any but a few wild horses near water.

A few of my families have them and I typically enjoy them, but they're not really a priority for me. I like them but pets have never been my big Sim thing. Oddly though I tend to give most of my loner sims a dog.

I use pets in almost every household, haha. I try not to give them all pets since it's pretty tedious when every pet is sick when you switch household. I hope they will fix that.

Right now I'm at seldom. It all depends on what household I'm playing. My one sim finally took their cat to the pet clinic for the first time last month! lol I take my time playing is all.

My households all suffer severe lag with a cat or dog. Also there are just too many bugs.

Usually any household that has a pet it's usually just one with a few single sims or a family for the most part.

Most single I tend to get them a pet often if they'r n ot really actively pursuing a relationship or anything with another, so they have a companion. Pets are really good for my loner sims. Its always neat watching sims walk by with their dogs in the city or out on the sidewalks.

I had to end up using a mod so that the strays about were not always sick. :< Usually I tend to shift click and click make happy to fill needs, but sometimes there's so many in the area I just decided to plop that mod in there so there would be. Luckily dogs can't die from starvation now even though older games had deaths for pets that were just as morbid for sims.

Had a sim that would just feed every animal it saw.

Rarely. I don't like how they take up a space in my household.

I'm a dog person irl so I do create them in the game, however, they typically run away from my families due to lack of attention. Since I spend most of my time building, when I do actually play I am focus on raising my sims skills and level up in their careers. Maybe one day I'll create a PETA loving sim who will actually search for the dogs when they run away.

That's part of it for me with pets. I have to know my sims will spend time caring for them upfront, and usually my sims are a little too engaged with their own pursuits or storylines. If the story is about the sim and their pet though I treat it differently. You have to be willing to drop your plans for the night to take the dog to the vet if they come up sick for instance.
I do use them seldom but when I do it's fun to me because they belong in that story.

I really like the pets :) But it depends on whether it makes sense for a particular household to have them. I've been playing this young botanist who has bees. She doesn't have money or time to deal with a pet. So... not lately, as I've been focused on this particular house. But at least half my households have pets, whether it's a pack of dogs or a hamster.

I filled my game world with pets, and now I usually avoid playing or visiting most of my HHs because the pets get sick the moment I leave the HH, and stay uncomfortable for days after I heal them with a vet treat. They should enhance my game, but instead they take away the fun.

    It's a shame.

Not as often as I used to. I used to play with pets a lot when the expansion came out. I only add pets to my household if it feels right, if I think my Sim should have one and/or if the family isn't big enough already.

Although sometimes I get the urge to adopt the poor wee souls wandering around in the cold. It pulls my heart strings every time :disappointed:

Almost never use them. I don't like that they take a sim space. I don't know why Maxis couldn't make it so that we can have extra two pets in addition to 8 sims like in previous games.
