My Sims3 no longer works!!

I played yesterday and no problems. Today, it won't load. Recent updates to Origin and Windows 10. It loads to the launcher screen. When I launch the game, it says that the game isn't responding. Anyone else having this problem?

I personally haven't seen any other complaints today, but that doesn't mean they aren't coming soon, once other people update and try to play.

There are a few things you can try. First, pull your entire TS3 game folder out of Documents and onto your desktop. If you can launch the game, which will generate a clean folder, and load a new save, you can just move your existing content into the new folder from the old one. This will take care of any and all potential game folder corruption in one step.

For Origin issues, you can try clearing its cache, and if that doesn't work, uninstalling and reinstalling Origin entirely, which wouldn't affect your installed games.

If none of this helps, you can run a dxdiag and post it in pastebin or another free site, and then leave a link here. Please also list the packs you have installed.

I'm having an issue where the launcher won't display the log in screen, just says there's an error with the page. I can run the game, but it tells me my login info is incorrect and only lets me play base game in Sunset Valley

@jafo88fan The troubleshooting advice for you is basically the same as above. You might start though by clearing the cache for Internet Explorer. Even if you never use it, the launcher does for some purposes. Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorites.

Missing packs sounds like an Origin issue; try clearing its cache, and if that doesn't help, uninstalling and reinstalling Origin itself, which wouldn't affect your installed games.

If none of this helps, it's a good idea to clear the caches for IE and Origin (again) and then pull your entire TS3 game folder out of Documents and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Do your packs show up then? Are the worlds that come with your EPs available for a new game at the Main Menu? Your store worlds wouldn't appear—they'd still be in your old game folder, along with your saves and other content.

Actually, the packs aren't missing, they're disabled. I figured out I can enable them in the launcher and still play all of them. Just can't use online features that way, not that I use them that much anyway.

But I will try clearing IE cache and see if that helps. Have to do that in the morning since I work 3rd shift and am about to head in.

Cleared IE cache and now the game runs like it should.
