Finally going to have some good use for those bigger lots. Perfect for terrain building :)

    My overall opinion:

I think it's too early to say whether it's good or bad, cause I am not sure if this tease holds more than what we can say for sure. If cars will make it, I think its pretty good and cool of them. I know foundations are something people wanted for so long, so I'm happy for them even though I won't use it like a maniac. Its nice to have for me and I appreciate it being added. Maybe later on i will be more happy with it.
The career.. Ok.. It's nice they added a career that is normal and probably useful for many sims. i would probably use it too. I do wish they would add in more careers. I get this one is for free, but they could have added careers through packs as well. They are needed. We asked for a lawyer career for so long and it should be here already. I do like the active careers. it's all I want to play most of the time. i also think the option to work at home, play active or just send your sims off to work, is very good and should always be like this in any sims game!
However.. they did use many of the same animations again, meaningless interactions. Maybe there is more to it, cause they didn't show us all, so we will have to see for a complete opinion. But from what i could see, they could add in some more meaning to this career by actually drawing fashion sketches instead of paintings (of a horse..). Let's see more about it when we get it and get to play with it.

Just holding my hope for cars and Sims 2 style with animations and in-car options.

That was worth watching. I'm more interested in the new career and the sketch pad but terrain tools are good too.

I'm more happy for the fashion career also but the terrain tools gave me a great feeling for the builders. Will be great to see what they do with it.

Can you really call it a fashion career though? I didn't get to see much of it, never mind that they didn't even tell us if there were any branches?

As long as I have the ability to change the way townies dress. I'm going to use it. That's the blow me away part.

I already have the ability to change the way townies dress....and use it frequently. This involves going into manage worlds, then to the edit households screen. From there, just select any townie household, in or out of world. Then dress them to heart's content. A sketchpad - a usable sketchpad, as opposed to "all paintings must be done on the easel" now that is a needed addition to the game. I've been wanting it for years.
I have been playing The Sims since 2001, when Livin Large came out. My avatar deliberately looks like Chris Roomies from TS1.

What new guy? There is no new guy there that I see. I think of them all Kate is the newest.

They’re talking about the one whose first stream it was. To the left of Kate that talked about the new career.

They said they weren’t going to say everything regarding the career. Every career so far has had 2 branches though.

Of course I presume there is two branches of it; regarding the fact that there's two main aspects of fashion: styling and modeling!

I'm only excited to finally give my male models something they can do for once instead of mooching off someone else's money as their boy toy lol. (not withstanding modding ofc)

They said outright there are branches. The female Sim had already chosen one.

That part must've glazed right past me; if you could give me the exact timestamp that was said..?

It's not replaying for me :/

I think that might be more on Twitch's end...maybe it would have to wait a bit?

It's the first time he is in the Stream team. SimGuruNinja said he had been working with him for ten years! He was actually very good but needed his mike nearer his mouth to get louder!

definitely! I'm not much of a builder but I know we're going to get a ton of awesome creations out of these new tools by other players and that's exciting enough for me.

I thought for a free update it was nice, curious to see upcoming streams. To each their own but honestly it seems like for some players nothing is good enough. I do hope to hear about any upcoming packs.

Oh I thought they’d be teasing a new pack. I’m happy with what they are adding, don’t get me wrong, but I feel a little disappointed.

I feel the same since Maxis Monthly is replacing the little clips we would get every few months. Got myself too hyped for the wrong thing, but looking forward to seeing what builders will do with the terrain tools

Well that was a downer, no October patch and nothing exciting to happen really.
Sims 4 is not the game Sims 3 was, it's boring. :/

There are two new career branches: Trend Setter and Stylist.

No offense intended, but that was so lame.

A fashion influencer career? Maxis you can do better. That was just so so lame......I'm so sad...TS4 just really isn't coming through.

It's not a modelling career, it's not a stylist career, it's another stupid instagram career. I like the new digital art sketch pad, but you can't even do fashion sketches, so....what the actual..... There's no fabric sampling, no sewing machine, no catwalk, just writing more articles on the computer....how fun. And the animations look like they are straight out of the Sims Mobile, so disappointing. I thought it was going to be a better update. A lot of people have been asking for a personality update and we are getting a lame career....

Also, the digital art sketch pad does everything an easel does....it's a cool object but really, why are we getting another object that does everything we already can do in the game? TS4 can't afford that luxury with it's lack of content. So disappointed.

This 100%. The only thing good about this for me is that it is free.

There's a new fashion career. If there's no patch, how are we getting the fashion career?
When the patch releases, it’ll include the career. There isn’t a new career right now, they just showed it off a bit

Giving sims make overs is something we have been doing since 2014. It’s not new.

But the ability to do it in game and having it tied to a career is new -- you can makeover Sims if you have one of the GT closets as well.

It’s new but not new overall. You don’t need a career to do it.

But its cooler to have a career, don't rain on our parade

I’m giving my opinion? I’m not raining on your parade. To me it makes no difference weather you change Bob Pancakes out of his bee keeper hat and spa robe by pulling him into CAS in game of pretending he’s approached your sim for advice. It’s the same tool just a different path to the destination.

I agree as well. They could have done so much more with this kind of career. Also, i'm glad we got terrain tools back for the builders out there but I don't really build a lot so its not my thing. I would much rather have had a patch this month that fixed some of the many bugs people have been having since we didn't get one last month. Guess we'll be waiting another month.
Have a super fantastic awesome splendid amazing day! -TheQxxn

It may not make sense to you, but I predict a lot of players will appreciate and enjoy it. And the ability to change townie outfits without using cheats is going to be a Big Plumming Deal to a lot of players. I've added GT closets to a lot of venues for fixing fashion disasters...now the closets can resume their proper function, places for making out and Woohoo. >:) People have been asking for new careers, now we get one and it's free.

As for the sketchpad, I'm looking forward to that the most. I love doing Paint by Reference paintings, but it can be hard to figure out where to put the easel to get the right angle, and some places you can't easily fit an easel (like if you're in the middle of the rope bridge in the Selvadoradan jungle). And since it's in personal inventory it'll be a great gift for artist Sims.

Finally, though they didn't go into much detail, the terrain tools they were showing at the end looked awesome. I can't build worth a lick but I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of builds end up on the Gallery using the tools.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. I thought they said terrain tools weren't possible though? Does this mean the other stuff they said wasn't possible is now possible? Maybe I'm remembering wrong. But either way, very excited and I don't even build anymore. xD Can't wait to see what gets made with the new tools though!

Remember, Things Change (tm). As they learn more and more about the capabilities of the game/game engine, they're making new discoveries.

Speaking of things changing, they might still be able to add a multiplayer option...but I still don't want one, and here's why: Multiplayer games rely heavily on microtransactions to finance their servers. Multiplayer games generally do not allow cheating (and I always have cheated in every single player Sims game to date, usually with the money cheat). Finally, I already play similar multiplayer games, like Avakin Life and City Girl Life. I have a Facebook gaming account for the latter with about 600 Facebook friends....and at least 400 are players of the same Facebook games I play. Social networking games encourage the player to "friend" everyone who asks to be a Facebook friend whether you know them in real life or not. And sometimes that way, you get plumholes. (And yes, I just deliberately self-censored.) These people are rotten plums, as opposed to tasty edible plums which I enjoy very much, thank you.

WOW, this is awesome! Fashion career is something a lot of people have been asking for, so hooray that they will get to do this! And I like the idea of having far-reaching influence as a stylist by setting trends that could spread through the neighbourhood (though I sort of wish you could customize which Sims are likely to jump on trends and which aren't, which doesn't seem super likely). But then WOW, terrain tools, can't wait!!!!!

I believe they were referring to Jeff, being his first time on a livestream but has been working with Maxis for sometime now..?

Yeah, I meant new as in "just joined the chat right now" rather than new to the franchise. I haven't watched any of the livestreams in a long time though, so I didn't actually recognise any of them. I think the last one I watched had something to do with the pack that ended up being Laundry Day Stuff.

It just struck me as odd that both of the male gurus had volume control issues.

Agreed. It doesn't even seem like a proper career, it sounds more like what young instagrammers would dream about. "I wish I could talk about fashion all day and give people makeovers and be paid for it".
This new career doesn't interest me at all.
But I am very glad about the terrain tools <3

The new career and digital sketch pad are ok. The new terrain tools look great. But none of it was worth a hyped-up live stream. They could have mentioned that stuff in a simple blog post with a few pics and wasted a lot less of people's time..... not to mention .... emotional interests.

They made it sound like everyone on planet earth should tune in to see their mind-blowing announcement ...... of what turned out to be just ........ a digital easle. Oh yea. Lets not forget the new Mr. Dressup career.

Tell me you're kidding me. Tell me I didn't wait around the last few days for THAT.

    Seriously?????

Well, I like the terrain tools. But that still could have been shared via blog post.
