What type of pack would you like next?

FurSimsOfficialFurSimsOfficial Posts: 2,362 Member
I wondered what the interest of players are now that we have already a bunch of packs to vary our stories. What is something you are still waiting for and would make a great deal in your game right now?
Explain why your voted for that pack and what new features/items you would like to see in that EP :)

* For me, I think free time is a big deal right now, cause we need more things for our sims to do so they stand out in their personalities and don't all look the same. Along with this I would like some new traits and jobs as well. Not just 2 or 3, but more than that. Sims need to become more unique and shine on their own! I find it hard to find proper jobs for them as well as activities to do that last a life time. Hobbies could do this for our sims. It would need to be profitable in many ways, such as getting skills, interactions that will be unlocked with them, new items to buy and a career out of them such as we have with painting, gardening, writing etc. We just need more of those!

For EPs, Farming and Uni would complete what I would love to have.

There are several GPs that I feel are still necessary including completing the sacred triad of Vampire/Witch/Werewolf and a few more vacation destinations (such as tropical, Asian, Egyptian).

I voted for university because there are just so many things I want from that pack, but I want to mention that I would also like to see something for teens. I find my teens very boring. There isn't much to do with them to make you feel like you are giving them a teen experience. I posted this in another thread this morning:

I would really like to have teen parties back, like in TS3. I feel like it's pretty hard right now to have teen only socialization. Usually when I invite other teens to hang out at the club or the cliffs, most of them just end up going home fairly quickly and my sims hardly get a chance to socialize.

Since the TS4 is supposed to be more about emotions, I would like to see more reactions and emotions from other sims when my sims do something specific. Like maybe if my teen invites another teen over to the house and messes around with them while the parents are on the lot, they get in trouble. I don't know... Just something to make teens feel more like teens. Right now my teen can do just about anything a young adult can do and nothing different happens. I want teens to feel like they are being rebellious if they are doing things teens shouldn't be doing. I do like the idea of sneaking out.

Maybe if there we two choices for teen parties. One like TS3 where the parents leave and the teens can throw a party at home and another where it's a sneak out party and the teen chooses a location, sneaks out and parties there with other teens. Juice keggers could automatically appear or at least have an option for placement.

I also like the idea of cliques or maybe even social groups like in TS3 University. Teens based on their actions and traits could fall into social categories like nerd, jock, rebel, or popular. They could then gain points in these groups to be higher or lower on their social groups scale. Like for popular you could start with "In with the in crowd" and end with "Queen Bee" or something. The sims traits could make it easier or harder to be successful in a social group. Maybe if your teen is has outgoing, athletic, romantic, or confident it would be easier to end up in the popular or jock groups. If they have genius, bookworm, or nerd it may be easier to progress through the nerd group. Rebel group could have teens with loner, creative, etc. Like with clubs you could have members of the groups interact with other groups in a particular way. Of course your sims could be able to go against the grain and have a teen sim with nerd traits successfully make it into the popular group for example. They may just have to work harder by performing certain tasks or actions that will help them get into and rise in a group.

Anything to make my teens feel more like teens!

It was an amazing lot, but in many worlds, you needed to build your own to fit within the alloted spaces.

As for why I voted for university. I feel like there is no distinction between young adult and adult life stages. I do realize that adults can attend university as well, but for me it would really add something to make that distinction and give my young adults something to move onto after high school besides just working. Also, it will give sims a chance to explore different fields of study and help them in their careers.

There were a lot of things I loved about TS3 University, that I would like to see incorporated in a University expansion pack for TS4. This is how I imagine it:
    • There is a separate world that is the university world.
    • Unlike TS3 University, you can stay there in a dorm, a sorority or fraternity, or rent a house or apartment for as long as you want. You don't go home at the end of every semester.
    • It would be nice to have roommates back in case you're renting your own house and need the money.
    • After high school your sims takes a test to try to qualify for a scholarship and enroll in University.
    • The sim then moves there, but doesn't lose their regular home. Whenever they decide to leave the university world they just go back to their regular home.
    • Going to classes would be like Get to Work and more in depth than classes were in TS3. They would be specific to and based around the classes that the sim is taking for their major. So if it their major was science, they may go to a lab and have to work on the basic science equipment they have for the science career or come up with some new equipment. If their major is art, maybe they go to a large art studio where there are lots of easels, a woodworking table, and sculpture making equipment. They have to complete certain tasks throughout the day to do well in class and get a good grade, similar to GTW.
    • Your sim can choose how many classes they want to take per week so if some want to hurry up and study a lot and graduate they can, while others may want to draw it out and focus on the college experience.
    • I would like to see social groups come back. I really enjoyed trying to help my sim work their way up a social group and unlock the special career related to the social group.
    • College parties like in TS3. Juice kegger, bon fire, maybe something new like gamer party where a group gets together to play each other in video games. Parties that will suit the different social groups.
    • Part-time jobs so sims that need to supplement their income can do so and still go to school.
    • Different areas to travel to like the quad where festival type events (like in city living) can take place but are based on university. Also a promenade with restaurants, bars, movie theater, and a bowling center/arcade.
    • When you graduate you unlock new careers that are only available after receiving a university degree.
That's all I've got for now.

Something for Elders please! They are the most neglected lifestage of the game. It's really sad. Life does not end when you go grey and retire. Give them stuff to do, give them hobbies, new clothes, late midlife crises! Let them write wills, teach the youth (or moan at them), and go to retreats...

This might not go into a full EP. Maybe a game pack.

    Teen related EP
Missblackwood has a very good point. Teens can drink from the bar, and mess around, the only difference from an adult is they cant have babies, they are the same height as adults, teen clothing is the same as adults basically. There should be more restrictions and consequences for the teens. A more teen friendly pack would be nice.

University, for me. I LOVE TS2 University. However, I barely played TS3 University Life but I have read about the features and there are some I like and others I dislike.

I love the system they had in TS2 University where you had to go to class, complete term papers, skill levels and assignments to earn a GPA. Also, bring back the idea of probation (and repeat the semester) and face expulsion if the Sim didn't meet the minimum GPA. But keep the ability for Sims to be able to return if they want a second chance to complete the major, or if they need more skills to be able to be promoted.

I would love to see YA and Adult Sims be able to attend. And I honestly don't think Elders should be able to go since you don't know how long they will live, but that's my opinion.

As far as the semesters themselves, one improvement I see would be to have days of the week in the semester. I liked the idea TS3 University Life had where every day your Sims could do something different, like a lecture one day and a lab the next day, and class exams on Friday. Then a final exam at the end of the semester. But an entire 4 years in two weeks did not appeal to me in TS3 Uni Life at all. And add back all the majors and classes from TS2 Uni.

I would prefer for Sims to be able to visit the base neighborhood without aging up from YA to Adult.

Dormies could claim the empty rooms so your Sims had others to socialize with. I never played with the social groups from TS3 so I wouldn't miss that. Bring back the cheerleaders and Llama Mascot but eliminate the Evil Cow Mascot.

I can't think of anything else right now but these are my reasons and features I would want in a University pack (EP or GP).

Out of this list I would be jumping around screaming if they announced a large farm pack (GP or better yet EP please).
I'd be about on that level for University too but.. I might have reservations on how it's done. I also very much want more Hobbies and Romance options.
Supernaturals (witches), Superstars and a Tropical (beach) vacation are also still big wants for me, Casinos would be nice too.
I won't be as enthused for Teen, Kid or Sports stuff but it adds even more to the game so will be happy to see it come.

I'd really love it if witches/magic were the next pack. I can wait a while longer, though...but I really, really want that back in my game.

Many of the others I would welcome, too...especially the farm ep. That sounds like fun to me.

Something related to art or show biz. Skills, abilities, talent - I want to dive deeper on the personality of the sims themselves. Romancing wouldn't be bad too.

Normally I would vote Farm without thinking twice for the possiblity of brand new ways of life but I don't know if I want it right after Seasons. I need something other than family play to have a breath.

There's so much that can be done with Uni. Like perhaps they can do the same concept as Get to Work and have "participation" prompts during a class...like "raise hand, take notes, sleep, browse web." I also would love to see the on-campus living combine apartment/Greek life with the community like festivals. I loved TS2 style with the dorms. It would be cool to do clubs and joining specific groups to get a head start on a career.
I was going to vote for Romance, but just because I only want slowdancing! haha

I want more than just University -- I want a pack that would improve education at all levels:
    • Home school/study from home: This would be for all ages and work similar to the Work From Home careers in City Living. You would decide whether to send your Sim to the traditional rabbit hole classroom or have them "study from home" by doing a set of tasks that are different each day. Maybe your Sim has to go catch X frogs for Biology Lab, or practice a musical instrument for an hour, or paint/draw something.
    • Return of private schools: Your child's/teen's parents would invite the headmaster and do their best to impress him/her -- or in a pinch an out and out bribe just might work. >:) School days are shorter but homework is more difficult, but going to private school could provide advantages in one's career (bigher salary or jump a few extra career levels) as well as advantages in University in the future.
    • Customizable schools: This would be for teens, and sort of a hybrid of the current active careers and the club system. You choose your subject of specialization, activities, and fellow students (up to 6) and an instructor (YA+) based on criteria you set. For example, if you want a culinary activity, you might set as activities cooking, making drinks and baking (the latter if you have GTW), maybe things like reading skill books. There would be a building where you could build your own classrooms for your course of study, as well as a common area for students from different courses to meet between classes. Similar to the apartments, only your classroom would be active. You can either accompany your student, or if you want to focus on a different Sim in the household just send them on their own and they'll still make progress.
    • Afterschool activities: For students still in the traditional rabbit hole schools, more afterschool activities similar to the Scouting added in Seasons, but with the added chance of getting a random skill point. A child participating in Art or Music Club might get a point in Creativity, or a teen participating on an Athletic team or as a Cheerleader could get a point in Fitness. Also more traditional activities like proms and graduation, again you can either go with your Sim or send them on their own (rabbit hole activity).
    • Lifelong learning: Your Sim (YA+) can sign up for evening classes; you can either go with the Sims or send them on their own. Like the afterschool activities, they have a chance to get a random skill point. Maybe your elder Sim takes a class in creative writing and gets the chance to write their autobiography for their descendants to read, or your geek Sim takes Art Appreciation and gets skill points in Painting.

That's the pack I want -- whether I'll ever get it remains to be seen.

I knew I would think of some things to add to my post.

Careers that you can ONLY enter after completing University and the ability to start any career at a higher level just by graduating with the proper GPA.

Also, for Teens, bring back the scholarships they had in TS2. For those that were based on the hidden Pool and Dancing skills, a notification that the skill level was high enough to qualify would be nice. Back in TS2, I skipped those because I never knew how long to make my teens work for them.

If I think of anything else, it will be added to this post.

I want more romance interactions. My Sims 3 sims are so cute and I ship them, but Sims 4 sims can’t even slowdance. Some sort of childhood crush should be implemented too.

Out of the given choices, I'd say the Farm idea would be neat. I grew up on one so it'd be nice to have some of that in-game. :) Plus I've been playing Stardew Valley recently, so... yeah, lol.
