Museums could do so much more interesting stuff. I'd like to see sims develop interest and knowledge of history, like a skill, from museum interactions. This could open up options like conversations about it, and also writing and art subjects. Maybe they can write history books, historical fiction, or paint historical painting styles and need to research. Also, sims with high history skills might randomly discover an item they own/buy (art and paintings most likely) is a valuable antique by viewing it. The flea market could link in with this too for a lucky find. Some new NPCs would be great, like tour guides and local historians who randomly generate on museum lots - just make it more dynamic and random so that I don't know what will happen when my sims visit the museum. At the moment, I just know there will be stuff to look at and then my sims go home and it doesn't really affect the wider game. I'd like to see things that transfer out of the visit.

Yes, I love the idea of exhibitions and events! We could have exhibition tables and walls we can place, then art and artifacts could randomly spawn throughout the lot on them during events like this. The events and NPCs in san myshuno have been great - it's one of my favourite features because it brings the world to life in a way we've not had before. Would be fun to introduce more of these things to the world, and being able to place event spawning items in lots we build ourselves would give even more possibilities. I might actually make a post just about event spawning items.
And yes, just about anything relating to museums could apply to art galleries.
