Bought Traits

So I was browsing around looking for mods and I saw one that would add Republican and Democrat to the traits menu in CAS and I got me wondering... is there a way to add traits to the rewards store? If there is could someone point me in the direction of a tutorial on how to achieve this?

I would love to be able to chose if my Sims were Democrats or Republicans, but I don't want it to be one of the 3 defining traits.
