Roomates??!!??

So my sim has moved into an apartment in sunset valley, now she has roommates! i can't disable them from the phone menu, what else can i do to get rid of them? thanks

If the lot type is Residential- Apartment, as viewed in Edit Town, this is what is supposed to happen (unless you have a special apartment type of mod to change things). Uni type apartments are not really "apartments" as we think of them in the real world, they are the dormitory concept ported over to homeworlds and you will have up to 7 NPC Roommates sharing your living space. There is no way to stop that other than evicting everyone and changing the lot type to Residential-Regular (change it to Commercial-No Visitors Allowed in between to get the change to stick) or just moving someplace else.

LN type apartments are different. Those are, usually highrises but they don't have to be, of lot type Residential-Regular with multiple units and a call box in the lobby. The units other than the one usable one must be behind special NPC doors and must have private room markers on them, while the building's common areas will have public room markers. The sims living in the one usable unit will appear to have neighbors, but they will really be homeless NPC sims who go into the private units to hibernate rather than going off the map when off-duty to give the appearance of a busy apartment building. There is no way to enter a darkened out NPC only living area.

Ok, i think its a LN apartment block, so is there no way of disabling the roomates?

A lot can be both at the same time. Check the lot type in Edit Town. If it's Residential-Apartment, then everyone needs to be evicted and the lot type changed first. We cannot disallow the Roommate Service on official Apartment type lots while keeping that designation without using a mod to redefine what the lot type means.

LN apartments, the ones with the call box, NPC doors, and blackened out private units have nothing to do with Roommates. But again, a lot can be both, that is have the NPC units (LN) and the forced Roommate Service (Uni) at the same time, just don't know why anyone would want that unless they have a 6 bedroom apartment and want to fill it up with strangers sharing living space.
