Active Career Job Glitch?

So only one sim has an Active career job as a scientist. His wife and son have their respective places to go, such as school and the gardening career. Only when the husband goes to his job as a scientist, the wife and son automatically come home as soon as he gets to the lab? Is this a new thing? How do i fix it?? help!!

Thank you! I went looking too.. shesh.. my game never used to be THIS Buggy.. i guess i send him on his own now till its fixed..

I'm not sure mine is considered a glitch, but probably a bug. I play an active career as a Doctor. I suppose to deliver a baby to move up the job. There's a pregnant lady, but every time I'm going to attend her to the surgery table, she just left. I have to wait another day after my day off. It repeats for almost 1 Sims week...I played an active career as a Doctor before, but it was fine. Only this time, the pregnant lady just came and left. FYI, I don't have CC/Mod and repaired my game before start playing.

Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps

If the issue remains, you could use a cheat to promote your sim
The cheats to do that are
Type into the cheat bar
testingcheats true
Press enter
Type in
careers.promote Doctor
Press enter

I’m in doctor career too and the message came up to deliver a baby but no pregnant sim came in so had to use the cheat to promote to next level.

I am sorrry that you had this issue. It was fixed in a patch, but a few simmers have posted lately that they have had this occur.

Thanks @rosemow . I've checked the cache file, and it's only have 1 file - which keeps on 'appearing' after each saved game. I haven't checked the outcome once I removed the cache file, as My Sims is on a holiday - I set one whole week as a summer break..yikes...and now, I'm playing with a different household..I'll update if clearing the cache solve the problem..

When you clear the cache files, it is good to clear the localthumbcache.package file .
It may help to use the promote cheat if the issue remains.

Sure. I thought that I can never delete the localthumbcache.package file. I will do it now and hoping that it solve the issue. Thanks a lot @rosemow

You’re welcome The localthumbcache.package file regenerates after you delete it.

Don’t know if it has anything to do with latest patch but my sim can now deliver a baby in doctor career.

That is great! It is good that the issue is fixed in your game .
