Pet Toy Wear & Tear?

I've noticed recently that some of my cat's toys have holes in them and the words "Chewed Out" in their mouse-over description box. It's something I've never seen before. I just recently got "My First Pet Stuff". Was it something added there, or something I had just been overlooking all this time. Mainly what I'm wondering, though, is whether the toys can get worse than Chewed Out. Can they wear out completely and become unusable? What are the Wear States of pet toys? The cat still uses Chewed Out toys, so there hasn't been any noticeable in-game effect so far.

That's cool. My pets have never chewed their toys long enough to wear them out.

One of my played sims had a cat, so I got a lot of those "chewed out" toys. My simself has a dog, so far I haven't had any chewed out toys. Just wondering that makes a difference. Heads up everyone, has anyone seen that cats play more with the toys, or dogs?

My RL dogs used to all of the time. In fact, one of them 'knew' when the holiday was approaching. So much so, that when my hubby was down in the finished basement working out in the early mornings, Takket would follow him, find his box of toys, and systematically pull them, one at a time from the box, lining them up across the floor as if to say, "Hey, Dad, I have a need … this is what I want for 'Gift Giving Day'. " I kid you not.

If a cat has a Playful Trait they'll spend a lot of time playing with toys. My cat does and has Chewed Out at least half a dozen toys so far. He brings me toys often enough in the little pink boxes that I just put those on the floor, sell the damaged ones and I haven't run out of toys yet. I still have no idea if they can get damaged enough to be completely unusable. Maybe after too much damage, the just get destroyed and disappear. I guess time will tell...
