Laundry not going in bins

I recently decided to get laundry bins, a washing machine and a dryer for my house. When Sims change into a different outfit/get in the bath, the clothes don’t fly into the bin. Funnily enough, the only time a laundry pile does appear is if a Sim changes in a room without a laundry bin. I have used them in other houses where the laundry has automatically gone into the bin, so I don’t know what’s happened with this current house. I tried googling but the majority of the questions there are Sims 4 based, and this is Sims 3.

Congrats on the home appliance upgrade.

The laundry flowing into the bins is just an animation. Sorry it isn't working on that lot, but subsequently can you click on the hamper and Collect Laundry anyway? Have you tried different hampers?

The game ended up crashing, so I lost all my progress unfortunately. Hopefully it was just a glitch/something I can re-investigate.
