Should they keep on releasing Stuff Packs ?

No, EP and GP are enough.
I have only ever bought two stuff packs: my first pet stuff (because I wanted hamsters) and romantic garden (wanted the wishing well). I think there are some very good items in SPs that I do want, but I don’t want to spend £10 on a pack just for one or two items (because I couldn’t care less about the rest). I would prefer if they put the main “selling items” of stuff packs into EPs or GPS instead.

I agree with @Brindleton with absorbing the SP team into the EP team, with a hint of @Sk8rblaze 's answer of not splitting up the content and instead trying to cover a wider spectrum.

They made it clear when Sims 4 came out that if you did not get the sps, thinking you would get that content in other packs - it would not happen. There are strict limits on each amount of animated and programmed content in each type of pack - so losing the sps will only give us less stuff period as the eps and sps are not going to be changed what they are allowed. Remember what the devs said even during Dogs and cats - that they HAD to make choices - either the vet clinic or controllable pets and went with the pet clinic and vet career. They were not allowed to choose both or even allowed more pets. The eps and gps are as packed as they are allowed to go so losing one just means you go without - not get them added to the remaining packs.

I understand they have no choice but work under those guidelines - I assume it comes down from EA itself. They have repeatedly said Sims 4 is not like any other previous version of the Sims - so it does not matter how it was done in those games - it is done this way in this one - like it or not. I don't know about you - but I don't want less stuff. 10 bucks in my eye was more than worth it for every single sp I bought and I see this from others as well.

As for the dev s -they will not "absorb them into other teams" what EA will do is lay them off - and when openings come up in other places in EA -they might bring them back to go there if that is their line of work. They will not add them to the teams already there unless one of those team members go elsewhere no matter how badly players want it. But the eps sizes are not changing no matter what from my understanding.

I will be unhappy if the sps stop myself - as they were always an option. If you did not want that gameplay and content - you did not have to buy it - but don't go expecting to get it elsewhere like we got it in other Sims games.

So, you're saying they won't include things like hot-tubs in future expansion packs because this game is made differently? Why did they change it? Why didn't they just expand on Sims 3? I got Sims 4 for fresh material, but now you're saying that most of the fresh material wont come from EPs?

I live in Australia and don't usually buy games online and EB games and JB-hi-fi usually only have EPs. I miss the way they used to do things. This ain't progress.

I believe it has nothing to do with how the game is “made”. I don’t see EA coming down to The Sims Studio with specific commands such as, “make them pay $10 bucks for hot tub objects this iteration!” either. This is purely a developer choice.

I definitely agree — this isn’t progress. I don’t know how large Maxis is now compared to the time of The Sims 2, but I have to say, it feels like it must have shrunk considerably. The amount of innovation and quality in that game compare to now is staggering. All of its many content shortcomings aside, The Sims 4 can’t even handle basic game functions, such as time control.

They should do in America what they do here: Put a GP with two SPs.

Yes, but I'd be fine if there's fewer of them, but the quality is better. I like the idea of stuff packs. Because they're focused on a certain theme, it's easier to decide whether or not I'll be using its content.

I think they should update (add more) to the packs they have already released. Then I would start buying them.

At first I wasn't sure if more stuff packs was a good idea. Some of them aren't as great as they could have been but in the end I say yes because some of the stuff packs are pretty good, when they are done well of course.

I like stuff packs and use a lot if not all items ive gotten in them. They may seem kinda random by themselves but mixed with ep and gp content we've gotten, they really help to round out the game

I have been thinking about this on and off and I am not sure what my answer is. The stuff packs started out great and I thought we were getting a decent amount of content for ten dollars. Lately, they have been pretty weak but they are a good way to give us light content just not too light. I still don't have an answer.

Yes, but only until we get a retro-decades stuff pack (or multiple of those, the more the better), and western and nautical themed stuff packs. After that I don't care LOL.
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

I'm content with EPs and GPs, to be honest. It's not that I don't love the content of SPs, I do. But I don't consider them absolutely essential to my game style and stories.

Besides, if Stuff Pack content were to be put in other packs, those packs would lose something in exchange. If butlers were to be put in City Living I can guarantee that something that's currently in the pack would be missing.

I'd happily exchange the talking toilet for a butler.
    :joy:

Though, on topic - I feel they should be paused but not completely thrown away with. I enjoy most of the stuff packs. Laundry Day is probably my favorite too. (no tomatoes please) However right now I think more focus should be put on getting rid of bugs and bringing bigger game play features to the game.

I like SPs and like how they are small chunks of content and feature some form of new gameplay that said I wouldn't mind if they were released less frequently and more focus was put on to the GP and EP team.

I think they should still release SPs, but a lot less. There are still some things (ex. En Suite) that would be useful.
However, I'd prefer focus to go to GPs and EPs. These packs add wayyy more stuff than an actual SP and important gameplay (what the game is lacking). As an example, while I'd like a futuristic SP, I'd like a futuristic GP/EP more: a new world, careers like stylist and interior decorating, robots and eco living. More birds with one stone and more detailed content.

Stuff packs might not be ideal, but they provide nicely themed content for an affordable price. I for one really enjoy when new stuff packs are released, and it does also dd more content for modders to play with. They have also gotten much better with time (save for my first pet). I do hope they decide to create another one based off community votes

Yes, but not as many as they did. I like SP's because they can cover some 'niche' features/areas they aren't able to fit within the bigger packs.

No, EP and GP are enough.
The thing with SPs is that they used to be an occasional add on that provided some interesting niche items. IKEA stuff, H&M Stuff, Master Suite Stuff, Fast Lane Stuff, etc. They were nice content, however, they didn't contain objects that were integral to game play.

Now, if you want things that used to be base game objects -- like hot tubs, buffet tables, playground equipment, and toddler clothing -- you have to buy a stuff pack to get it.

Throughout the series, there's been this obvious progression to move things from the base game, to EPs, to GPs, and now to SPs. It's all too much for this player. What's next in this progression? Will we have to start buying things individually?

If EA decided to dump the SPs and to rearrange personnel and resources so that they could deliver more comprehensive GPs or EPs, I would be a happy camper. Not to mention, if so much of the game weren't being delivered by SP, perhaps we wouldn't be four years into the game, yet still woefully behind the previous games in content.

I know that this is an unpopular opinion. However, even if it means an additional $5 or $10 USD per EP, I would prefer to have my content arrive in substantial packs that round out a theme, all at once, rather than have the theme filled in by drips and drabs over a period of years.

Keep SP's but like some others have said, only have 2 per year, if necessary, so that more time can be spent on EPs and GPs, but, everyone developing would have their own strengths.

I'm gonna say it: I like that stuff packs add gameplay objects. And I've found the SPs were (usually) a nice little pop of something new to mess around with between the more substantial packs.

I mean, if I had my druthers, I'd probably want them to release more GPs, but I know getting rid of SPs wouldn't make that happen.

I'd much rather the stuff packs be put on halt for now and the team work on getting more game packs out. The issue with this game is not having "stuff" its little to no changes being made to the Sims themselves and meaningful activities which game packs offer with things like Parenting and Yoga.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

Stuff Packs in TS4 are like the store we had in TS3! That's why there are so many of them. I definitely would love them to focus more on EPs as we could do with a few more of them! :)

Yes, but less of them. More GP or EP instead while still having some SP as a cheaper option to adding content.

If they went about creating a stuff pack like laundry i think it could be still very successful because players are in the process of deciding what they want to see in the game the most, especially with build and buy items and clothing.

1 SP isn’t enough tho. At bare minimum I’d hope for 4 SPs a year.

A lot of my favorite content comes from GPs or EPs. I even bought toddler stuff because I wanted to focus on family and generations for a time, but it felt like there was not much included in the stuff pack. I know there was a good amount of stuff included, but it just felt ... bare? I'd rather have a more robust GP that included more CAS or B/B items.

Why on earth would anyone want stuff packs? They just add hair, clothes and objects all of which cc creators make for free and at a higher quality. Expansions should be top priority.

Not everyone wants to jump down the CC rabbithole. And there are themes that would fit an SP -- Teens could use some love in terms of teen specific decor, clothing and the like. Elders could be another age group that could get some good CASsets and maybe some sort of specific activity. A casino SP (adding slot machines and game tables) could add some good gameplay, especially if the Lucky and Unlucky personality traits from Sims 3 make a comeback. We could use more pool items like toys and maybe pool volleyball.
