I got Mikezumi started on another batch of nectar after breakfast. I want to get her wish to make 100 bottles out of the way quickly. Not so quickly that she needs to spend all of her time making nectar but at least one batch per day.
The boys both had fishing wishes left over from the day before. Moss wanted to learn the bait for crawfish and Finnian wanted to learn the bait for snails.

Finnian rolled a wish to catch a bug the previous day but there weren't many around and he was busy anyway.
Moss put another hour in on the fixer-upper.

Although it will take Shannon a while to get his wish breaking space rocks he has lots of empty wish slots so I don't mind.
I forgot to check if both boys got on the bus after the field trip so was relieved when I saw them both get home safely It's only happened once that a sim was left behind at a field trip, but I am neurotic

I got a popup that Bonnie and Gabe couldn't find a house. It was probably the third time I had got the popup. I checked Bonnie's house and she has two teens and one baby (Gabe is the father of one teen and the baby) but her house only had one double bed. I had a look to see if could add more beds but the house was very small. I then checked Gabe's house and found he had several beds and quite a lot of room for more. I went into edit town and merged their households. When I came out of edit town mode I found the boys' IFs had returned to their inventories so I got them out and moved them back to the family inventory with Debug Enabler
Mikezumi and Shannon were about to woohoo when I checked on them. Whoever instigated it chose the bed. Perfect timing as it was after 10 and the time my sims normally go to bed

I saw on your wall that you have been away a while and wanted to re-engage with other simmers. I took a few years from the forum and found that jumping right in was the best way. There's a thread in General Discussion called "What's happening in your TS3 game" and that's where I went and have made many lovely friends who are as passionate about the game as I am
Thank you @frasersim I am not a story teller but I do love documenting my saves. Mikezumi and Shannon have been played as a couple once before and I enjoy the chemistry between them Mikezumi, being my simself, was not allowed romance for the longest time but Shannon is the exception
I saw you mentioned Mikezumi was an elder because she is your simself, I love that the sims games appeal to all ages! I am in my thirties and have played since sims 1

@frasersim I wasn't an elder when I started playing the sims. I started with SimCity in my 40s, played TS1 briefly, TS2 for quite a while then moved on to TS3 when it came out and haven't looked back
I think you will find there are many older women playing TS3 (although I don't know any in my RL friend circle).
@Charlottesmom A mental health break is never a bad thing! Although I am trying to keep up to a certain extent I have been slowly withdrawing myself from Em's thread as it is exhausting and I can't help but make comments even when some don't deserve it. I am my own worst enemy

Watering, fertilizing and harvesting are done as separate sweeps. Sims will water and fertilize autonomously but not harvest. With Mikezumi and Shannon using two tractors the gardening probably takes a little over 2 sim hours which isn't much considering how many plants they have to tend.
I have always hated how splashing can cause friction between sims! When I first started playing it took me a while to realize it was the splashing that caused my sims to get upset with each other when they first talked after going swimming. I used to think my sims were not happy in their relationships. Once I worked it out, I made sure everyone apologized (if the option was there) after they got out to get things back on track.

They were flirting when Mikezumi and Shannon arrived. At the start of the save I ended the pregnancy of the other girl David was supposedly involved with. By my reckoning it couldn't possibly be his because they were not even romantic interests. I have never seen any popups about relationship issues between them so I am glad I put paid to EA's cruel treatment of David and Donna!
When David asked Shannon about his partner, he and Mikezumi got hearts.
I don't know why EA's idea of blonde is so yellow! I have to admit I had a chuckle at Regan Capp when I took her into CAS on her first birthday and saw that her favourite colour was yellow. As a YA she looks like a canary!
Mikezumi tried to talk with Regan but something was in the way. I later discovered there was another sim in the group who was invisible.

I saw Shannon heading to MD Fields for a hug. After his hug, Nancy Picard joined the conversation.
Mikezumi finally got to talk to Regan and I changed Audry Shear's outfit to make her visible.
After they had had their fill of socializing I sent Shannon and Mikezumi home to work on their wishes. Mikezumi fell several times during this batch
I left Shannon breaking space rocks and sent Mikezumi upstairs to make fish and chips. I think this was her 19th perfect meal. While cooking she completed the Star Chef Challenge (prepare 50 meals).
I heard Shannon yelp and was worried that he had hurt his hand and would have to stop but he pushed through the pain and kept going
The boys got home late because of Shop. Finnian reached level 4 in handiness
I checked on Shannon. He's starting to produce a lot of gems now!
Mikezumi put an hour in on the fixer-upper. Although the car is looking a lot better it seems to be taking forever just to do the body. I hope the motor doesn't take as long!

I have noticed that sims who love the outdoors will fish autonomously as children and teens but won't do it when they grow up except at community lots. Only my angler sims have fished autonomously on the home lot.

Invisible sims are a common problem. You might have them and not notice. It's a glitch caused by career outfits and rabbit holes.
I am learning new things all the time but that is because I have been very slow to add new EPs. I still have several I own but have yet to install!

Finnian finished his painting and got his wish so I sent him fishing because he had a wish to catch something with live bait. Moss went fishing on his own after dinner.
I should check his fish list. He must be getting close to getting his wish to catch every type of fish. It only takes 20 different fish to complete.
I got a popup that Bonnie and Gabe couldn't find a house. It was probably the third time I had got the popup. I checked Bonnie's house and she has two teens and one baby (Gabe is the father of one teen and the baby) but her house only had one double bed. I had a look to see if could add more beds but the house was very small. I then checked Gabe's house and found he had several beds and quite a lot of room for more. I went into edit town and merged their households. When I came out of edit town mode I found the boys' IFs had returned to their inventories so I got them out and moved them back to the family inventory with Debug Enabler
Mikezumi and Shannon were about to woohoo when I checked on them. Whoever instigated it chose the bed. Perfect timing as it was after 10 and the time my sims normally go to bed

@Charlottesmom A mental health break is never a bad thing! Although I am trying to keep up to a certain extent I have been slowly withdrawing myself from Em's thread as it is exhausting and I can't help but make comments even when some don't deserve it. I am my own worst enemy

Watering, fertilizing and harvesting are done as separate sweeps. Sims will water and fertilize autonomously but not harvest. With Mikezumi and Shannon using two tractors the gardening probably takes a little over 2 sim hours which isn't much considering how many plants they have to tend.
I have always hated how splashing can cause friction between sims! When I first started playing it took me a while to realize it was the splashing that caused my sims to get upset with each other when they first talked after going swimming. I used to think my sims were not happy in their relationships. Once I worked it out, I made sure everyone apologized (if the option was there) after they got out to get things back on track.

Day 32
The family enjoyed waffles for breakfast. Shannon's waking wish was to talk to someone and he got his wish over breakfast
Moss's waking wish was to talk about gardening. Who better than Shannon, also a green thumb
Finnian's waking wish was to water the plants. I had him water one by hand before doing a round with the tractor.
Finnian reached level 8 in gardening
Mikezumi made falafel towards her 25 perfect meal wish
Moss also managed to get in one tractor round after his chat with Shannon.
Mikezumi and Shannon finished off the gardening after the boys left for school.
Mikezumi's waking wish was to meet someone new and Shannon had the same wish locked in from the previous day. I saw David and Donna Morgan at the Plaza. Mikezumi knew David but Shannon knew neither. They were flirting when Mikezumi and Shannon arrived. At the start of the save I ended the pregnancy of the other girl David was supposedly involved with. By my reckoning it couldn't possibly be his because they were not even romantic interests. I have never seen any popups about relationship issues between them so I am glad I put paid to EA's cruel treatment of David and Donna!
When David asked Shannon about his partner, he and Mikezumi got hearts.

I don't know why EA's idea of blonde is so yellow!
Mikezumi tried to talk with Regan but something was in the way. I later discovered there was another sim in the group who was invisible.
Shannon politely turned away when Donna presented her husband with flowers
I saw Shannon heading to MD Fields for a hug. After his hug, Nancy Picard joined the conversation.
Mikezumi finally got to talk to Regan and I changed Audry Shear's outfit to make her visible.
After they had had their fill of socializing I sent Shannon and Mikezumi home to work on their wishes. Mikezumi fell several times during this batch
I left Shannon breaking space rocks and sent Mikezumi upstairs to make fish and chips. I think this was her 19th perfect meal. While cooking she completed the Star Chef Challenge (prepare 50 meals).
I heard Shannon yelp and was worried that he had hurt his hand and would have to stop but he pushed through the pain and kept going
The boys got home late because of Shop. Finnian reached level 4 in handiness
I checked on Shannon. He's starting to produce a lot of gems now!

Mikezumi put an hour in on the fixer-upper. Although the car is looking a lot better it seems to be taking forever just to do the body. I hope the motor doesn't take as long!
Moss came home with a wish to set a booby trap
Finnian came home with a wish to paint something brilliant but Shannon found him before he could start painting.
Mikezumi joined the conversation when she finished working on the car.

Mikezumi and Moss have always had a special relationship. He rolls the most Mikezumi wishes and she's always rolling wishes for him. Moss rolled a wish to talk with her when she came to dinner and her face lit up when she saw him

Moss got his wish to catch every type of fish when he caught this Tancho Koi. It only needs 20 since it is a base game wish.

The family enjoyed pancakes for breakfast. Moss's waking wish was to skip school - cancelled! Finnian's was to hang out with Moss. He got his wish over breakfast
Shannon had no waking wish but that's okay because he got several wishes throughout the day. I had him send away some of the space rock gems for cutting.
The boys got started on the gardening. Finnian reached level 9
Mikezumi's waking wish was to prepare a meal using perfect ingredients. I had her make ratatouille.
The boys finished sooner than I expected so I let them have a game of catch before the bus arrived.
Shannon and Mikezumi finished off the gardening.
When they were done, Shannon went to Mikezumi for some loving. I think Mikezumi was looking at a flock of birds

I left Shannon breaking space rocks and had Mikezumi prepare a new recipe I had given her for fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches.
I thought I had taken a pic of Mikezumi visiting the bookstore (hence the change of outfit) but I must have forgotten to hit the C key. She needed new books because she had read everything they had!
The boys had no after school classes so got home early.
When Shannon came in to kiss Mikezumi she rolled a wish to kiss him as soon as he entered the room
Moss came home with a wish to do a cardio workout and Finnian with a wish to paint something brilliant.
I had Moss work on the engine when he got back from his jog.
Mikezumi definitely instigated this!
I thought it was sweet when they chatted afterwards

After working for an hour on the engine, Moss started to work on the body and within minutes he was done!

Shannon and Mikezumi watched some TV before dinner. I am trying to get Shannon's wish to level up in cooking out of the way.

Moss went fishing after dinner. I hope he will continue to fish autonomously when he ages up. I have noticed that sims who love the outdoors will fish autonomously as children and teens but won't do it when they grow up except at community lots. Only my angler sims have fished autonomously on the home lot.
He caught another koi, this time a Kawarimono.
Shannon wanted to play a game with Mikezumi so I borrowed Finnian's ball.

Amazes me that I’ve played the game for so long yet there are still new things to discover.
I love Finnians painting too, quite the artist.
Invisible sims are a common problem. You might have them and not notice. It's a glitch caused by career outfits and rabbit holes.
I am learning new things all the time but that is because I have been very slow to add new EPs. I still have several I own but have yet to install!

The family enjoyed Eggs Machiavellian for breakfast
Shannon's waking wish was to water the plants.
Mikezumi made stir-fry towards her 25 perfect meal wish.
Moss had no waking wishes. He mastered fishing before the bus arrived
Finnian's waking wish was to garden.
Shannon used the other tractor.
Finnian had over half an hour left before the bus came so I had him join his brother so they would be closer to the bus stop and not blocked by Shannon and Mikezumi gardening.
Shannon rolled a wish to play a game with Mikezumi during the night. I caved in and bought him a ball. Mikezumi still doesn't have one
Is it any wonder frog legs look so bad while they are being cooked? I certainly wouldn't puree frog legs if I were cooking them!

The boys had no Shop so came home early.

It had been a while since I checked on Mikezumi and Shannon. It was obvious they were doing fine
Moss interrupted Finnian when he was checking out the new object. They boys chatted until it was time for Finnian's birthday.
I saw Shannon and Mikezumi leaving the house. I can't believe they went all the way from their bedroom on the second floor to the front of the yard just for woohoo! Lanlyn could be right about the car being a woohoo magnet
Interesting! It was Mikezumi's idea!
It's obviously great for relationship building!
When they were done woohooing, I sent them inside to celebrate Finnian's birthday
