Hello all,

We wanted to give you an update on The Sims 4 Help Center - PC - Technical Discussions section here on The Sims forums.

Starting from 20th of August 2018 we will be hosting PC - Technical Discussions only on the Answers HQ forums.
A section will remain here on The Sims forums, but this will serve as a direct link to the Answers HQ.

All discussions so far created in The Sims 4 PC - Technical Discussions section will be moved to a read only area here on the forum called The Sims 4 Help Center Archive. This section will remain accessible to all, but no new posts can be created.

Why the change?

Consolidating all discussions of bugs and issues in a single forum will allow us to identify emerging issues much quicker, help us better prioritise bugs that are important or have a high impact to the community and makes it easier to communicate updates on issues and bugs to everyone.

Let us know if you have any questions regarding this below.

So if someone wants to ask for help finding a computer that meets requirements for the game, where would they post?

@Evie0602 Those can be posted on Answers HQ The Sims 4 Technical Issues – PC.

Technical Issues encompasses both issues with the game (software) and the hardware (computers).

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have further questions

I completely find the forums helpful just as long as they remain interactive. However the main concern I may have is being able to determine where is the right forum to address a specific concern. Meaning if my concern is not in a topic I'm looking for then what? Am I stuck?

If you ever have any confusion regarding where to post, just post where you think is right

Technical discussions related to software (the game) and hardware (computers) and bug related discussions can all continue, just on Answers HQ.

I think theoctanepumpkin was saying that it is very difficult to find archived threads in the Help section. I've had the same problem. It's very frustrating as links seem to go in circles and refer to very old threads instead of the current ones.

I usually link the new thread in the old ones. Just check the last post of a thread that's locked (it's not always the case, but I try my best).

Also check the compiled list. For bugs, that' the most current resource.

If there's no thread linked on there, just create a new one. Stuff can always be moved/merged.

Hey there, for some reason my game keeps freezing when I go on to the gallery to try and download a house. It was fine yesterday, anyone haveing the same issue?

Hi @Martin200786 could you please move your mods folder to your desktop and then check if the same issue occurs?

Simmers have found that the UI Cheats extension mod has been causing this issue. If you have that mod, it would be best to remove it until it is updated.

With the new update (31st on July) my sims gallery keeps crashing and freezing every time entering someones creations. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this problem or if its just me. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello @Ellise
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there If it has helped with the issues, put your mods/ CC back into the newly generated mods folder that is in the sims 4 folder one by one or in batches and testing after each one to see which is the causes of the problem.

If you use the UI Cheats extension mod, remove it and download/install the new updated version thst has just been released and see if that helps.

So a few months back, Origin logged me out. I tried putting in my email and password for origin, but at the time I couldn't remember it so, it said my credentials were incorrect/expired. So I couldn't play sims 4 or sims 3, so I uninstalled them both, including origin since I couldn't use them anymore. I want to get sims4 again because it's on sale. Could I re install it or should I buy a new game? My main concern is if I'll have my expansions if I log into my correct acc?

You need to first reinstall Origin. Then log into Origin using the same origin account that you used when you first registered the Sims 4 base game and expansions. Then after logging in, go to games library, click on the Sims 4 picture and you can download /install the base game and all other packs that you own. You don’t need to buy them again. The base game and packs are linked to your Origin account.

@rosemow uh oh. origin says I should check my connection and try again? but I'm connected to the internet. I'm searching at the moment but please let me know if you have any suggestions on a solution! Thank you <3

Try shutting down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then try logging into Origin, and see if the issues remain.
