My two sims are in the gardening career (one in the botanist and one in the florist branch). Every day they both come home from work with the tense ´need vacation day´ moodlet. That moodlet still appears after taking PTO as well as after going on vacation to Granite Falls. Does anybody else have this issue?

If you have cc/mods in your game, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there
Repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair
Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps

It may be related to traits that they have now, or traits that they did have but are now removed. What are their traits?

The carefree reward trait can be bought which stops sims from getting tense.
The moodlet though shouldn’t appear on the same day that they take PTO, after taking the day off,

It does sound like a bug issue. You may like to start a new thread on the AHQ EA thread and post feedback on the issue there

Try also testing in a new fresh save game, to see if a sim there also has this issue.

I do know from playing yesterday that my sim took a day off, went to work the next day, and got that moodlet. Maybe they hate their jobs.
I had one of my sims change their job and the moodlet even came after their first day of work.
One of my Sims is getting it, too - the 'need a vacation day' - and it's definitely 'need a vacation day' and not something else. She's got the outdoor lover trait, so maybe that's the trigger (even though she's in the gardening career, so you'd think she's spending enough time outside). One thing I noticed with the gardening career is that with promotions, the schedule change cheats them of their normal day off, so they really are working a ridiculous number of days in a row.
Either that, or it's just in-game spam to encourage players to buy the vacation packs.
