Grim reaper won't remove the dead

Two of my households are unplayable due to the grim reaper not collecting the dead sim. He just stands on the property while the other sims perpetually "witness death". I've attempted the debugging cheat and everything. These two instances are both sims dying of old age since I've been playing with seasons (including new patch). I've never had this happen before in all the years I've played sims, and I'm not sure how to move forward with my legacy families.

Press enter
Typing in
resetSim grim reaper
Press enter
and seeing if that helps.

Try also doing the same thing, using the names of the dead sims

Repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair
