Nope, but I'd totally add that here I've seen one in the commercial district of Oasis Springs in Summer. Poor guy was sweating.

I find the random spawns rather realistic. The large city in the Southern USA that I live in only built a permanent ice rink a few years ago. Before that, various public venues would randomly offer ice skating in winter, just like it is in the game.
Had I known about Discotheque Pan Europa, I would have sent Partihaus there when they all rolled the want. Thanks for posting the list!

I bulldozed all the houses in Willow Creek to make my own and while playing the larger house next door to the old Goth lot in Spring I found the rink just a little further down from them on the opposite side of the road. It is situated quite well there.

willow creek, at the fishing spot across the street from the 50x50 lot in the upper right (the neighborhood with the spencer-kim-lewis household from base game). it's used in official screenshots, too. personally seen in spring, screenshot has in winter
oasis springs, as stated above, johnny zest's neighborhood (far right side of map), near the planters with lemon trees, daisies and such. seen in spring

newcrest, lower left neighborhood, the playground area on the far right (it also spawns a water balloon bucket in summer). seen in spring and summer. it moves slightly between these seasons, but stays in the same area

When I was in college, there was a mall with an ice rink in it. We would go, buy a pickle at the pickle store and watch from the glass rails that surrounded it. I started to recreate it but it's just too big with only one huge store surrounding it.

just jumping back into here to say both skating rink and food stall in the willow creek commercial district in summer, right next to each other behind the library and...whatever it is that's next to the library. gym? it's been a restaurant for me for years...
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the automatic rinks? I build my own and I don't need one in every world when traveling to any of them takes the same amount of effort.
when i visit my owned (retail lot) in Willow creek commercial area, i checked out the surrounding area, there no food stall showed up or even skating rinks too. and then when i switched to visit a non owned retail on next door lot, the stall and rink stills. is that glitch? i need to solve the problem

I have this exact set up but no Sim skates. I took my Sim there and they will not enter any opening to skate. So what I have is a barren rink and a busy food stall. I took my Sim to other rinks and they skated fine - anyone else having this trouble?

my own sim went to skate there on her own, which surprised me. it was nighttime, in the middle of a thunderstorm. she's an erratic vampire, though. and fed on a sim on the walkway right next to the rink. when done feeding, decided she should go skating. was really weird and unexpected
Indeed! OMG I am glad I have not seen the rinks in those places yet, I would totally freak. Why would they put them like that? That is dreadful.
And what I'd like to know is what the point of the different rinks are, cos I placed an ice rink down and when my sims visited it in the Summer it had turned into a roller rink. I wanted it to be ice skating. If they are going to auto change, then there is no point in having two different objects to place.
they don't change when indoors, at least. i downloaded a building with an ice skating rink and it was used for ice skating all through the summer (even if it was only my sims skating, and the handful they specifically 'invite to skate' while skating)

That's good to know! There are great gameplay uses for year-round ice skating or year-round roller skating.
