My sims relationship decreasing with son for no reason

Every now and then I would see the double negative relationship symbol come up above my sims son and noticed that their relationship was in the negative (its a toddler) I thought maybe it was because my sim has just been helping him with his needs and not so much friendly interactions so I had them do some friendly interactions but even while doing that the negative relationship symbol came up again anyone know what is causing this?

Try having your sim and her toddler go and visit another lot, and have them interact there. There may be something in the home environment that is causing the Sims to be upset when interacting. Then have them travel home, and test to seei the issue may have fixed itself and not occur again.

Hi @Drearydeary

does the relationship actually decrease each time you get the symbols ? Also are you using mods ? There have been mods that caused faulty negative signs in the past, so just making sure it's not that.

This has happened to me with my sims relationship bar. I think it starts to happen when your sims go a while without communicating.

I noticed that I'm getting more negative interactions between parent and toddler, and the 'soothe' option (for parents with the family-oriented trait) doesn't help with toddlers who are upset by thunderstorms.

When there is the negative interactions, does it affect their relatiionship levels? Do you have mods/cc in your game or custom traits?

Okay so I've just been playing my game after not playing it since I posted this and I think I figured out what the problem was, my sim is a vampire and hisses uncontrollably and their relationship decreased when she hissed in front of her son

It is good to hear that you have worked out the cause of the issue. The hissing can affect relationships.
