One of my favourite places is a little waffle shop downtown.
I absolutely love their Cookies & Cream, it's a piping hot crispy waffle topped with Homemade white chocolate sauce,
crushed oreo cookies & fresh cream
I prefer pancakes as there is no need for any sort of special machine to make them. Some of my sweetest memories in my old age is preparing pancakes on sunday mornings for my family.
To be honest, I have never tried most of the dishes mentioned in this chat XD I am not really a big fan of the desserts... They do look delicious but are always way too sweet for my taste. But I absolutely love home-made crepes which are less sugary.
I love pancakes! Especially with creamy peanut butter spread on top and then real maple syrup! *drool* *Tip - For the person who said pancakes taste like a soggy sponge after a bit, the peanut butter helps keep this from happening.
I really like Eggo waffles though too, they're just so easy to make. My kids loved to pop them in the toaster just as a quick snack after school.
Having said all that, my absolute favorite though, like someone else said, is French Toast. My kids used to beg me to make those on the weekends for them. I happily complied since I love it too. We never put powdered sugar on them though, just real butter and real maple syrup. Delicious!
@mintycupcake Omg, it is so good with those, but that may just be me.
@RoseFrost Well, pancakes, waffles, egg in the hole, and french toast don't have to be sweet. Seems like a lot of us just like syrup. Crepes are good, but I've only ever had IHop's.
My family calls egg in the hole "frog in the hole" sometimes. Idk why? Maybe it's a Southern thing?

Haha, I remember a few years ago, I wasn't getting the results I wanted, so I specifically looked up a recipe on how to make these on-line. The entire comment section was adults out and out fighting over the "correct" term. Like it was not possible to them that these are colloquialisms and no one name was right. My personal favorite was "pan embarazada" (pregnant bread). I've heard them referred to as toad in the hole, eggs in a basket, eggs in a nest, eggs in a frame, and bullseyes. And that's just off the top of my head.

You should try filling a Yorkshire pudding with syrup. You'll empty the syrup bottle before the pud is full.
You can put a full English breakfast in a Yorkshire pudding
You can put ice cream and golden syrup in a Yorkshire pudding
You can put your dinner in a Yorkshire pudding
And follow it with berry filled Yorkshire pudding for dessert
Yorkshire pudding: better than both pancakes and waffles.
