Hey, Simmers!

The Sims 4™ Seasons Expansion Pack* is coming soon, and we want to give you an idea of what to expect in each season. We talked a bit about spring and summer, but now it's time to spark the fireplace, brew some tea, and watch the leaves change on neighborhood trees. Let's get to fall, winter, pumpkin spice, and everything nice, shall we?

Set the Date

To kick things off, one of the most significant features of this expansion pack is the calendar. So, let's talk about it! The calendar includes all upcoming holidays. Each one includes traditions to complete that make progress toward your Sim having an awesome time celebrating. Plus, predicted weather conditions can help Sims plan ahead. You'll also see the schedule of your Sim's household while checking out the calendar, including when they have to go to work. And to make even more planning possible, Sims' birthdays will be featured on the calendar. Pop open some nectar (for New Year's, that is) because all this and more will be in one place. Now that's an organized Sims game.

Simmers, Start Your Ovens

When chilly weather rolls around, so do holidays! Harvestfest is in the fall, when Sims gather their closest friends and family for the grand meal. Sims can decorate their home for this special day, throw a turkey in the oven, and cook up some delectable goodies for the whole brood. Looking for an extra guest to join the gathering? You may find yourself encountering a certain straw-filled friend made especially for your garden.

When winter blows into town, so does Winterfest! Customize homes with a holiday pack and decoration box, give gifts, sip hot cocoa, and so much more. You won't want to miss a special visit from Father Winter. He'll be sure to brighten any Sim's holiday spirit.

Baby, It's Cold Outside
It wouldn't be fall and winter without a flurry of chillier activities. So, for the first time in The Sims 4, we're introducing ice skating. Tricks, spins, and awkward falls await your Sims when you place the skating rink. Plus, Sims can arm themselves with hats and gloves, then head outside to make a snowpal and snow angels.

ts4-ep05-reveal-lifts-001.png.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.png

Speaking of seasonal happenings, are your Sims ready to fall in love? Adventurous Sims can ahem express their feelings for each other in a leaf pile! Yeah, you'll probably want to leaf them alone for a while. (Sorry-not-sorry for the puns.)

As you may expect, the not-so-fun parts of winter blow in, too. For one thing, it's freeeezing! And without the proper outfit, your Sims will shiver and shake in their boots. Make sure to bundle up before heading outdoors for longer periods of time. If you don't, your Sims will be so blue. Literally. The colder they get, the higher the risk of - you guessed it - death. Womp womp.

Now I can add my opinion under the OP XD

can't say I'm very impressed with this significant feature. Obviously just my opinion but I don't see the hype around it.

I guess this is the new seasonal lot maker

Customize homes with a holiday pack and decoration box

Can you name just one feature you're looking forward to?

    Yup.
Santa looks interesting and the Easter bunny.

I was hoping we'll get at least one winter activity we didn't get in Seasons packs before...

Agreed. I quite like the dress itself as well, though I'd probably prefer it in a different color...

Calenders are useful, but they're not something I'd pay £35 for. In fact I'd expect that kind of thing in a UI patch to make things easier, not touted as a major feature.

The words "I told you so" spring to mind.
Every time a pack comes out, I upgrade my Special Project.

I think you've worded my feeling about it better than I have. It feels like an update not a major feature for an expansion pack.

I like the sweater vest the sim in background has on. I want see ushanka hats but looks like it probably won’t make it in.

Sounds great. This pack is really giving me just about everything I want.

Are those new curtains? They look nice, hopefully there are less orange colors.

The sim receiving the presents has two rings on two different fingers, it’ll be neat if we get the option to put two accessories on at one,but they’re probably just two accessories in one, classic
Edit: my bad, found out you can do this already.TIL.

It would be cool if they added that. Do we already have nectar in sims 4?

There's some nectar with Dine Out, but Sims make it like any other drink (or do they just pour it out of a bottle? I forgot...)

Idk if they mentioned anything like this before, but for these pre-existing holidays (like Harvestfest and Winterfest) can those names be changed or are they stuck like that? I hope they can be changed, but if not I suppose I can just remake the holiday with whatever name I want so, its all good regardless.

In all seriousness though, father winter seems new, he was in sims 2 but making your own holidays seems amazing. Tree decorating as well!

Well... No... I don't find it very exciting to be honest... Stuff like sleds or skiing (probably a part of an item though like snowboarding in TS1 and TS3) would have been cool (no pun intended).

As long as returning activities have some twists to them that would be enough for me probably...

I'm loving this!! I love the calendar organization. Usually I celebrate holidays for sims as they pass irl, but having this organization will be nice to make a sim year feel more real. I don't think I have ever felt sim years sync up with their lives before, and with the edition of New year's, it will finally feel like time is passing for them.

I'm so excited about gift giving. Now I can actually give sims presents instead of sitting out CC gift boxes and just pretending they opened them lol.

Anyone know if sims can ice skate on any frozen water or is it only available on the designated ice rink? That would be disappointing if we can't just ice skate on a frozen pond or lake.

Don't think we know that yet but I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think it would be really cool but as they haven't showed anything yet I don't think it'll be.

Boy I love those Autumn Decorations. Now I know why we didn't get them in a patch. They was saving those for Seasons.
