December 8th - It's time for our Friday Highlights! You can check them out here!

Lazy things you do in game even if it doesn't make sense in real life

«1
Is there anything you like to do in Sims 4 because it is convenient, even if it is not realistic in real life? (Excluding cheats)

I will share some of mine first:
- When I let my sims cook, I always choose party size, and let them eat leftovers until they finish it. I don't care about if it is appropriate for breakfast either.
- When I am playing a household with several roommates, I often make them go to the same community lot for different purposes, to save the number of loading screens. Sometimes I will bring roommates/children just to let them do their daily task or do homework, just because we can't do that if they are not on the same lot, even though the place might be weird.
- I start clubs that doesn't make sense to fulfill certain purposes. I even started a club with restaurant owners and their chef to let them practice cooking. TBH I don't really know if it works. Their skills improved, but I also paid for their training.

I always cook party sized meals as well. And I rarely set up fancy weddings, just have Sims elope on the spot. I use clubs for skilling or aspiration purposes. My playing style is very much centered around conveniency B)

    - I also mainly cook party sized meals.
    - I also only elope on the spot when it comes to marriage.
    - Sims tend to marry and have babies with the first Sim they meet and gain a decent relationship with.
    - Sims rarely leave the house.

I almost always cook party size meals as well, but I also have several large families, so there aren't usually many leftovers. I've found myself cleaning up my sims plates and glasses a lot. It's just easier for me to do it than make them do it. They've got toddlers and children to raise, the least I can do is help out a bit.

I also have my Sim serve whatever meal it is and leave it on the counter for Sim hours so that the toddlers don't starve. This is particularly helpful when I follow their Detective Daddy to work!

I leave my toddlers in charge of their own bedtime and putting themselves to bed.

If you put the food in one of the bakery cases from GTW, it won't spoil as quickly and toddlers can still serve themselves.

I'm a control freak, and I don't like it when my Sims go on self-care while other Sims go to another lot. So, everyone goes when one Sim needs to go to another lot. I wouldn't mind it so much if they'd continue doing what they're supposed to do (homework or reading a skill book), quitting only when the task is finished or their need bars go red, but they immediately head for the refrigerator or computer as soon as you leave them.

And my poor Sims never get to eat anything but the Superfood salad (and cereal or yogurt for breakfast). Everything else overfeeds them.

I drag the dirty dishes directly to that trashcan for money or to the sink/dishwasher in game. Too bad that's not a 'thing' in real life LOL

While in the Social Media career I invite 5 simes over just to do a mischief action, and then I make them leave so that I can get back on to the computer uninterrupted.

I also sometimes use the voodoo doll to summon my neighbor so that I don't have to go anywhere when my social needs are low.

Taking my sims directly to the house of someone I want them to meet for the first time, instead of letting it happen naturally at a venue or something :D

For socialization my busy single sims will just spam call one sim until the need is full.

In the sims 3 to get the friends I needed for the charisma skill I would go introduce myself to a bunch of randoms and then text them non stop until the sim reached friend level. I found texting in general to be the best because it was fast and no one ever got angry about the time of day.

My sims pretty much only eat and cook 8 serving garden salads. Old habit from when fires were way more common on the stove and then it was just always at the top of the list.

I build massive houses with every type of game play object on them specifically so I don't need to bring my sims off the home lot.

If I don't like a sim I just go into the manage household in sims 4 and delete them. They use to die, now they just vanish mysteriously.

Started a club that would clean, cook, repair and paint and only ever had them visit my sims house. My sim had more food than he ever would need and made tons of money off the paintings left behind. Despite obviously just using the other club members they were all still the best of buds.

In the arts area of San Myshuno, there's two easels in the little hub area. I have my sim living in one of the apartments there, and she sells the paintings whenever a random passerby decides to make one. Feels a little wrong but hey, they left the paintings there.

    - I'll cancel the wash hands action if I'm in a hurry.
    - I tend to leave dishes in weird places.
    - I rarely empty the trash.
    - I settle for quick meals a lot in the interest of time.

    - My sims also just make part sized meals.
    - Toddlers put themselves to bed.
    - Toddlers grab a plate of food themselves.
    - Most of my sims settle with the first sim they meet, ain't nobody got time to date around.
    - My sims don't leave the house often because I can't be bothered
    - If my sims needs are low I sometimes use a cheat to make them happy.
    - I drag dirty dishes to the sink

This! I probably do this for every single household, as soon as they can afford to buy the trash can.

I used to visit the different worlds to collect from different plants, which means hanging out in different lots for extended periods of time. Now, I mostly visit the produce stall in San Myshuno where I can purchase majority of the edible plants, or wait for the spice festival.

-I only really invite adults to my toddlers & kids birthday parties
-I tend to choose who my sim is going to marry from the time they're a toddler & I make that person be their best (and only) friend from that age onward (another habit I'm trying to kick)
-The adults never take family leave
-Pretty much all of the furniture I use is based on how useful it is rather than how good it looks

-I do the large portion low or no cal foods from the start of the game.
-Toddlers eat food I set on the floor or coffee table for them (beastly.. funny). Highchairs are too high maintenance.
-Most of my sims only have one outfit in each category unless it's in their character to be a clotheshorse.
-Most of my sims don't wear much makeup or jewelry... I can't be bothered to set that up unless it's really out of character not too.
-When playing a large family (4 or more to me) I often send some of them to bed at odd hours just to not have to play them because I want to focus on others. When the first group has full energy I switch.. Yeah time/needs management is not my fav way to play.

I don't mess much with the clothes, either. I spend a lot of time when I first create a Sim getting their main outfit, workout and sleep outfits right, but I don't give them additional outfits in those categories. I let them game choose the formal, party and swimsuit, since my Sim is never going to wear those. (Swimsuits will be more useful with Seasons - I can't wait for my toddler pool!) I'm perfectly okay with them wearing the same thing every day, as long as I like the outfit and it suits their personality/storyline. (Actually, this isn't so different from real life for me - I tend to buy several outfits that are more or less the same.)

    ...Everything?
    • Never set tables or have family dinners
    • Only eat a constant stream of leftovers
    • Never go out or meet no-household Sims unless I need them somehow
    • Set a number of outfits I like, never change them
    • Age toddlers and children up prematurely as soon as I get maximum bonus from their skills

    Never clean up
Always eat garden salad (no fires)
    Every event in house
Have toddlers eat in the Great Outdoors
    Talk to plants for social
Let the trash plants grow! (Leaving trash outside)
    :D:D:D

    - Make a club with a bunch of sims I want mine to know and then delete it
    - Drag leftovers near a toddler so they can get a serving when hungry
    - In households with a few toddlers, that one tablet is basically their parent lmao
    - If someone's on the performance stand and my sim wants to earn tips, I get my sim to introduce themselves then immediately click cancel and take the stand...I always feel a bit guilty but a sim does what a sim's gotta do!
    - Parties usually just have the same guests over and over

Party sized meals for everything as soon as your household is has more than 1 sim that uses the fridge in it (aka toddlers doesn't count).

    1. My Sims only friends are the people who show up as the welcome wagon, I rarely get them to make new friends.
    2. Make ice cream and eat it for every meal until it's gone.
    3. Workout for 10 hours in a row.
    4. Never brush teeth.
    5. Nap on park benches
    6. Drink water from the sinks of nightclubs and bars.

If I have a sink in the house, it's never in the bathroom, because it annoys me when they wash their hands before hitting the shower. (Even though, in real life, I'd wash my hands. Obviously. It just doesn't take me 15 minutes.) My Sims go through life never washing their hands or brushing their teeth. (I actually like the talking toilet - it's the only way you can have a sink in the game.)
