Is there a trick for moving rugs?

I have a rug (it's some kind of early start bonus) and I can't figure out how to move it. I can't click on it, it just brings up the furniture menu?

I had the same problem...but pretend you're going to put the rug on storage and then press on the rug again and you should be able to make your changes. Hope this helps.
