Username: Prissy **I prefer to be called this. Nothing else.**

Link to your Sims 3 My Page: (This is to help me when Buddy pairings are being made, especially if I don’t know you very well. If you’d rather not put your link here, please send me a PM with this information) http://mypage.thesims3.com/mypage/MsPrissy88

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: EVERYTHING

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: EVERYTHING

I own the following Store Content: Even though I own pretty much of the store, I ONLY play with/use certain pieces

I own the following EA-made Worlds: (Please note that others might not feel comfortable using a custom world so it would be beneficial to provide your Buddy with a list of only those made by EA) ALL OF THEM

Some of my favorite colors are: BLUE!! ((absolute favorite)) ... Purple/Magenta... Orange (pumpkin color - but not *too* dark) ... Pastel Colors - Green, Yellow, Red, and of course, Blue

I really don’t like this color: BROWN (although I use the color in woods, I DON'T want this on a wall)

I love to use items from this set: TOO MANY to list here. IF you, too, own much of the store, and use a piece, chances are I will have it.

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: Actually, I prefer to play in my OWN created world... Misty Falls (( https://flic.kr/s/aHskuE5P6z ))

I enjoy this style of build the most: (Example: Victorian) I like RANCH and Country style homes. ((don't think I ever asked for *that* kind before)) **I've provided a few links to floor plans that intrigued me.

I really don’t want this in my game: NO CC!!!

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: (If you’re a fan of tiny lots then here is a great place to mention that! If larger lots make your game lag while loading them, mention that too!) I have a 40 by 30 lot size that's open in my world. 40 is the width (( --- )), 30 is the height (( | )).

I want/don’t want berry sims: NO BERRY SIMS!!! (I am NOT a fan of this kind of sim)

I want/don’t want occult sims: (Be sure to specifically list those that you are fine with or mention which ones you don’t want to see in your game!) NO OCCULT SIMS

I want/don’t want pets in the household: (Like cats more than dogs? Like bundles of cute puppies over horses? Don’t want any of them? Mention it!) NO PETS!! I love them, but I will create my own, or adopt from within game. Thanks

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? (Example: A couple of points, but not maxed out) NOTHING HERE

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? (Example: A few points in Cooking would be nice so sims don’t burn the waffles and can make more than a mean bowl of cereal!) NOTHING HERE

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? (Example: I love having sims that can cook, garden, paint and write so having those skills would be awe-sim!) NONE

Other: (Describe here anything that you’d really like that might or might not have been previously mentioned!) Surprise me! I know I gave you several options to choose from, and if you follow floor plans or not, they're actually very useful ! I want you to HAVE FUN.

@MsPrissy88: A casino, huh? That would be different, all right. I started making a casino once, in order to take advantage of a lot of what I felt were casino-based store items, but I never finished it. I always try to cram too many things into something like that, then it gets overwhelming and I get tired of it.

I built a much smaller one for a contest by @ajaxpost; it was really a dive bar, but with a casino in the basement. Mine certainly wasn't the best one in the contest. I'm not all that good at commercial lots. :)

I totally get preferring custom worlds. My favorite is Cotes D'Ambonnay. It won't even play on lower end computers, but it's absolutely stunning, and I can't resist it.

There are so many great custom worlds around Cotes D'Ambonnay is really beautiful. I really like Rinn Fada by Conorsim, it's a wild irish countryside with a small seaside village. It's just breathtaking when a fog rolls in. Johnnywr has made some really great rustic mountain worlds. Every world by Nilxis is so different and painstakingly crafted. I'm sure I'm forgetting some but those are among my favorites.

Casinos can be really fun to build, @InvisibleLyndz hosted a casino build contest a while back there were some really creative entries. *edit* Found it, I hope your buddy can find inspiration there.

I built a casino once. It was for a contest, and it was on a 20x15 lot. Also included an ice cream parlor, arcade area, the casino, and a small dance area. I still use it to this day in various worlds as it can fit in just about anywhere. Could be interesting to see it as a bigger area. Though I do have a question... the "hotel" part... are you wanting a resort like what was introduced in Isla Paradise? Or something that just had the look?
  • MiaSkywalkerMiaSkywalker Posts: 3,436 Member
@Morakai: When you say "ice cream parlor", did you use the ice cream maker? Or something else to get that effect? That sounds like it would be a really neat venue to have, but I'm not sure what you would use for it.

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: All

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All except Katy Perry Sweet Treats

I own the following Store Content: A LOT of it. Can pick up something you might use if I don't have it. A few sets I don't own and don't want are the casino/Las Vegas-ish stuff, through the looking glass (although I have a few small decor pieces from those), and futureshock.

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All except Lunar Lakes.

Some of my favorite colors are: I love blues and greens and shades in between, as well as neutrals. I prefer subtle shades and pastels.

I really don’t like this color: Any color is OK, but if it's in the red/orange family or something very bright or intense, I'd probably rather only see it in small accents.

I love to use items from this set: I tend to use Contemporary Comfort pieces quite often, but there's tons of store stuff I like. I like anything related to gardening/farming that comes from the store (and in RL I'm a certified plant killer ;) ).

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: I don't know, honestly. I guess it would be easier to say what I don't like, which is Bridgeport primarily because I just tire of looking at cityscapes really quickly - so I guess Roaring Heights is the same problem, although I like it somewhat better. Generally, when I play EA worlds, I'm stripping them down pretty good - and even completely - and putting in what I want. Right now, I'm playing in Moonlight Falls and loving it, but I started empty and am not really doing it as a supernatural kind of town.

I enjoy this style of build the most: (Example: Craftsman) I like a lot of styles really, from Victorians to Contemporaries. Cape Cods have a special place in my heart (I live in one). For a couple years, I've been rather into rustic and rustic contemporary type builds (and have some super builds along those lines made for me in past buddy gift exchanges, but I can use more. :).

I really don’t want this in my game: I guess those few mentioned excluded store sets above. And really large houses that take half the day to get out of them to get to the carpool or schoolbus. ;)

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: I like a variety of sizes. Small to medium are easier to find spots for on the map. I'm not really interested in having "just a house" on something like a 64 x 64, but would rather reserve those for farms/ranches or certain community lots.

I want/don’t want berry sims: Don't want. I've seen some really pretty and interesting berry sims, but I don't play them.

I want/don’t want occult sims: I only play just a few supernaturals, and only really have liked fairies and witches, but I have some really nice ones that were made or me or that I "borrowed" so not feeling like I need more. Haven't yet played a mermaid or a genie and would like to give those a whirl at some point. If you have an great idea that involves a supernatural sim, I say go for it. :)

I want/don’t want pets in the household: I love the pets. Dogs, cats, horses (and unicorns) are all welcome. Fish are fine, too. The small pets that sims keep walking off with in their pockets, drive me a bit batty, because I worry about them losing them (yes, I'm weird about my pixels). If you're making a household, it's easier for me if I only have to manage one pet. Right now, having just gotten back into my game, I'm playing a family with a dog, two horses, and a toddler, and I'm asking myself why I decided to put myself through that! LOL

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? A little skilling is fine if it fits the sim's (or pet's) background. I don't feel I have to start every sim as a blank slate. But, unskilled is quite OK, too.

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? Just what I said above really - if it fits the sim's backstory, go for it if you like but don't feel you have to.

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? I have a lot of gardening, cooking, painting, writing type sims in my games, so anything that made them feel at home would be great.

Other: Just have fun and don't worry too much about what I want. :) I love seeing what people's imaginations bring forth, and sometimes the best thing for me is to try something new and unexpected.

@MiaSkywalker Why yes I did use the ice cream maker. Also used the sno-cone maker, the chocolate fountain, and the cinema turnstyles so could actually make money off the venue. The only rooms that doesn't take tickets is the arcade & the restrooms. It also gives the townies that come with kids, someplace for them to go and get something to eat, or a treat. I also set the turnstyles to various ages so wouldn't have kids in the casino portion of the place. Here is a link, if you are interested. Capone's Hangout

What a good idea! I never would have thought of combining them that way, but it definitely works!

Here where I live, our local casino - for we have several - built a hotel that sits "on top/sort of to the side" of it. This casino is ever expanding. Anyway... What I am looking for, is something LIKE that. Since we can't have a lot that is both residential and commercial, why not combine the 2 and make it a lot where visitors are welcome? If I had a drawing or a sketch, it might make it clearer. I realize what I am asking for a is a HUGE task. And while I like the store item -- my sim went to it almost every day -- I had a thought "what if you could build not only a casino, but a hotel too?"

I am reminded this morning why it's better if I don't post late at night. :p Typo city in that buddy letter. Oh well . . . I didn't see anything I thought someone couldn't understand, so I'm leaving it alone.

Hope you all have a great day :) As for me, I'm just glad it's Friday and the end of my work week.

That was why I was asking if something like a resort would be something that you were interested in. There you can have the casino, AND have some VIP rooms that are player created, but also be able to have townies vacationing there as well. That way you can go visit, or go there on Vacation, and enjoy all the amentites that could be available.

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: All of them

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All of them

I own the following Store Content: I have all of the sets/venues that come with a premium content item.. I own all of the premium content.. I have most of the hair styles so if you make me a Sim don’t worry about what hair you use. I own a lot of the clothes and build buy objects but not all, many of them were bought individually when they were on sale and its just too much to go through. Especially the misc decor, I am totally addicted to misc decor. :P Some sets I have that don’t have a premium content item with it are; Indian Inspirations Collection, Adventurous Life collection, the Prom Night set, World Inspirations Compilation, Kingdom of Cambodia, Zen Again Bath, Asian Fusion, All of the Ultra Lounge, Le Cirque Esprit, Boho Men’s collection, Bay Side Kitchen and Bath, Jet set elders, Summer Cool nights clothing, Casual Chic Set, Date Night, Celtic Lands, All of the Future Shock Content, Edwardian Kitchen, Loads of Laundry, Fairy Folk Slumber, Loud Clash and Fast Bed and Attire, One with Nature, Level Up Collection, June 2011 compilation, Waning Moon, Nautical Living, Hollywood Regency, Muse Luxury, Through the Spy Glass, December 2011 Compilation, Finest Living, Finest Dinning, the Coffee Bean Hipster Loft, January 2013 Compilation, Blast from the Past, Gothique, Muse Luxury Hollywood Regency, and the Now and then Manor.

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All of the worlds

Some of my favorite colors are: I really enjoy colors on the “cool” end of the color spectrum like greens, blues and purples however, I like all colors. For example I think red is amazing accent color.

I really don’t like this color: There really isn’t a color I don’t like but would prefer something that isn’t overly Neon unless it really suits the sim or lot.

I love to use items from this set: Bayside Kitchen is my favorite kitchen set, I like the variety of cabinets that come with it and they seem to suit a lot of different styles of kitchens with the use of create a style. I really love some of the Aurora Sky's decor pieces like the wall shelves with lots of clutter on them. I also really like the ultra lounge sets, bohemian gardens, brunch at the old mill, one with nature set, coffee bean Hipster loft (the love seat from this set is probably my favorite piece of seating in the game), nautical living, bay side kitchen and bath and the boardwalk set

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: The EA world I play in most is Lucky Palms but I play mostly in a custom world. If you design something that fits the aesthetic of Sunset Valley or Starlight Shores it will suit the world I play in very well. I also like Moonlight Falls and have getting more into Hidden Springs Lately. I also like Lunar Lakes and Dragon Valley to change up my game play a bit.

I enjoy this style of build the most: I like a variety of builds really. I like modern and older construction. My favorite is a mixture of the two, for example one of my favorite builds I have made is a farmhouse that has been “renovated” to be a mixture of contemporary and vintage design. I also love really nice landscaping and if it’s a home I prefer it to have some clutter but with enough space for a sim to easily move around. I also love water features in homes and public lots.

I really don’t want this in my game: Mummies, ultra modern homes lacking any color or warmth, and most of the content from sweet treats content aside from the candy containers and the Jessica Rabbit style dress.

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: For public lots any size works but for a home please nothing bigger than 50 by 50.

I want/don’t want berry sims: Id prefer to not have berry sims that are supposed to be humans. To better explain I am fine with fairies, mer sims, aliens etc with berry skin tones. I am also fine with berry Sims that are technically humans by game standards but are designed to be a fantasy sim such as elven sim with pointy ears and berry skin. I have noticed that I don't care for extremely bright neon berry skins though, If prefer the softer pastel tones from the rainbow sliders. Plus the rainbow sliders make for fun genetics with the kids its like pulling out random candies from a bag of jelly beans.

I want/don’t want occult sims: All occults are good for me except for mummies. The only reason I don't play with them is because of how slow they walk. My favorite occults are fairies, genies, mer sims, vampires and aliens.

I want/don’t want pets in the household: All pets are fine. I prefer cats and dogs over horses though due to their issues with routing sometimes.

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? A few skill points are fine for story purposes but I enjoy skilling my Sims up myself.

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? Any skills are fine, would prefer if they suit the sim's backstory/personality. A couple of skills in cooking would be nice if you are going to give them skills.

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? Not really anything in particular unless it suits a sim you made to go with the build or the build itself. Like an easel being in an artist style loft. Some room to place some skill items would be nice though.

Other: Would loves some 30 by 20 homes and Public lots (long side is the front of the building), For a world I'm trying to fill up. I always like new genetics to go into my saves. Some families with children and teens for my Sim kids to interact with would be amazing, some interesting elder Sims would also be nice. I'm always looking for fun places for my Sims to go, clubs and restaurants for dates and fun family friendly lots for my families to go to.

At the end of the day I really love to see some creativity and for the buddies’ personality to shine in the creation. If there is something you are really wanting to try making or something you are really passionate about making Id love to see that even if it doesn't really fit with my letter. I am sure anything you build I will love. Often times my favorite creations are ones where I forced myself to make something different than what I would normally like and have fallen in love with it after it was done because it was different.

    Hello!

I'm brand new to the forums, and still fairly new to The Sims in general. Ive been playing the OTHER sim games for years though, had Sim City back on the old Apple 2E. And Sim Tower, and Sim Hospital, and Sim Town, and Sim Tunes, and Sim Ant (personal childhood favorite!)...

Anyways, Kaytay is my partner and recommended I try this, since having found a love for this game, and thought I might enjoy building something for someone else? I agreed! So, here I am! I'm looking forward to trying this out, and also saying hello to you all!

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: Ambitions, World Adventures, Supernatural

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: None!

I own the following Store Content: Happily Ever After Clothing Set

I own the following EA-made Worlds: Midnight Hollow (Gold), Riverview, Lunar Lakes, Barnacle Bay

Some of my favorite colors are: Green, Silver, Rainbow

I really don’t like this color: There is no color I DONT like, but yellow is my least favorite.

I love to use items from this set: N/A

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: I don't have a favorite yet! Im a noob!!!!!

I enjoy this style of build the most: I like Victorian, or Gothic architecture, as well as post modern, Scandinavian, And Rustic turn of the century Styles. I like anything that catches the eye, whether it suits the surrounding area or not! Rainbow Sparkle zigzags are fine with me!

I really don’t want this in my game: Huge families are a bit much for me... I like smaller households, 1-3 or 4 sims.

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: Any size is fine! Go wild!

I want/don’t want berry sims: I... have yet to encounter a berry sim. If this is your thing, go for it!

I want/don’t want occult sims: I think they are great! But also dont care one way or the other!

I want/don’t want pets in the household: No Pets expansion :-(

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? Whatever floats your boats! (buoyancy floats mine)

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? Same as above. I'm still a noob and figuring out how the different skills work.

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? I usually include a few of these? Chessboard, Easel, Bookshelf. Mostly for the aesthetic, but skills are cool!

Other: I know this has been pretty wide open, but what I love about the game is the story that unfolds as you play it. I have created a few different sims and worlds with one thing or another in mind, but the story always sort of drives itself where it wants, and I love following it. Also I love secret or hidden things. Secret passageways, or hidden underground lairs, that sort of thing.

    Hi everyone!

Long time no see to many of you! And also hello to new faces! :)
I've come back once again to this game and community I adore so much. I've been lurking in the Builder's section for the most part lately, but when I saw @ADWilson's post there announcing a new gift exchange, I knew I couldn't miss out. (Thank you so much for the link there, Addy! I wouldn't have found out about this otherwise!)
Also I brought a new recruit with me, my dear partner, DinoJr. He's pretty new still, but I wanted to share the fun of gift exchanges with him.

Can't wait to get started building and looking forward to the chatter of creative Simmers at work!

I have installed the following Expansion Packs:
    All

I have installed the following Stuff Packs: All except Sweet Treats

I own the following Store Content: All except exclusives (Dr. Pepper, T-Mobile, simpoint bundle items, etc)

I own the following EA-made Worlds: All except Roaring Heights

Some of my favorite colors are: Cool colors (blues, greens, purples) and earth tones (browns and tan and cream)

I really don’t like this color: None that I wouldn't want used

I love to use items from this set: I have pretty eclectic taste. I love the Bayside, Hewnsman, Island Villa and Happily Ever After sets, but usually use bits and pieces from lots of different sets, whatever suits the style.

I prefer to play in this EA-made World: Hidden Springs is my favorite. I also like Dragon Valley and Sunlit Tides. I always feel like I haven't fully explored all the worlds, though, and love to mix up my game play with new things.

I enjoy this style of build the most:
Much like my set preferences, I like a pretty wide style of builds. Craftsman and Scandinavian are a couple of my favorite styles, but again I like whatever suits.

I really don’t want this in my game: Large households. I get overwhelmed by controlling a bunch of sims at once and days go so slow because I want to optimize everything, so I prefer not to have more than 4 sims at once.

I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: For most things I'd prefer 40x40 or smaller, since they are easier to find room for. Also since I don't tend to play large families, I rarely play with huge, palatial homes. But if it is a community lot that needs a lot of space or a farm or something else that needs a bigger size lot than 40x40, that's okay, too!

I want/don’t want berry sims: I'm okay with berry skin tones, but don't particularly like all-the-same-color skin, hair, eyes, clothes sims.

I want/don’t want occult sims: I like occults! Witches, fairies, genies and plantsims are some of my favorites, but I'm open to any.

I want/don’t want pets in the household: I love playing with pets! Cats and dogs are both great and I play equestrian sims... probably more often than I should. So horses and horse-friendly lots are always welcome!

Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? If so, how much? I like building skills up myself, so I'm happy with a blank slate sim or just a couple points in something specific if it's important to their backstory.

Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? See above. I'm not picky. :)

Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? Whatever is needed for the specific sim or type of sim meant to live there is great. Or just space to put skill items. Otherwise, again, not picky.

    Other:
In regards to sims, I love for them to have a bit of a backstory or some sort of quirk to them. It really takes playing to the next level for me when there is a story in my head that's more than just game mechanics.

As far as builds, like I said before, I don't really need big houses. 2-3 bedrooms is great. Or even 1 bedroom starter or modestly priced houses (although I know budgets are so difficult!). Also, houses are great, but so are community lots. There are so many creative ways to combine the many activities available to sims and my sims always need more reasons to get out of their houses!

I don't think I have anything specific I'm looking for at the moment. My current games are:
-A strictly by-the-rules legacy with simself founder in Sunset Valley. I realized when I was explaining legacies to DinoJr that I'd never played a legacy by the full basic rule set. I'd also never made a simself. These being cornerstones of the Sims experience, I figured I'd better fix that. I don't really have any specific plans for them at the moment and the original rules forbid player-made sims as partners, so I can't even ask for potential spouses, and I'll be building up the house myself over the course of the legacy.
-Going Solo challenge. This one has been on hold a long time, but I still have every intention of going back to and continuing it because I was really enjoying the story. The link is in my signature, if you're interested, but the pictures are all broken...
-50 Foal challenge. Did I mention I love playing equestrian sims? This one is still in the set up stage and will be starting in Sunlit Tides. I already have a house and horse training lot set up, though.
So... Like I said, no specific requests linked to my current games. But maybe knowing what I'm up to currently will spark some ideas for you. Or if not, that's fine, too! These are my challenge saves that I focus on, but I often have a couple "just for fun" saves going at the same time. I'm a terrible multi-tasker, can you tell? So don't feel like you have to do something related to what I listed here.

Most of all, I want you, my buddy, to have fun. If you are happy and excited about what you are making, that will show through. Even if your idea isn't something that I mentioned here specifically, I also love discovering new ways to play my game!

I have installed the following Expansion Packs: all
I have installed the following Stuff Packs: all
I own the following Store Content: all but some single clothing items not in sets and some bonus content from sim point purchases or special items from DrPepper and other promos.
I own the following EA-made Worlds: all
Some of my favorite colors are: blue green, blues, blue purple. I also like warm colors and red accent on black and white.
I really don’t like this color: For some reason a yellow green is usually my least favorite.
I love to use items from this set: Bauhaus windows! I just love window variety!
I prefer to play in this EA-made World: I generally play in Sunset Valley as everyone has that; but I love Riverview and Hidden Springs as well.
I enjoy this style of build the most: I love a more challenging, multi-textural home with some ins and outs to the wall and different roof lines. So, a modern build that is asymmetrical is my favorite.
I really don’t want this in my game: Things that lag my game, like large houses with lots of rooms and furniture or pets. I prefer minimalistic builds on mostly flat lots, but with interesting landscaping.
I would or would not like lots in the following sizes: Larger lots make my game lag, so the smaller the better. I generally pick the smallest lot available in a town.
I want/don’t want berry sims: I prefer the standard default colors.
I want/don’t want occult sims: One occult sim is okay, though I rarely play them. A genie would be my favorite and a vampire my least favorite.
I want/don’t want pets in the household: A household with one pet is okay. I’m too much of a micromanager to enjoy any more than that.
Do you want your sims and/or pets skilled up for you? I’d love it if you enjoyed the household you create enough to play them a bit first. So, some skills are awesome.
Are there certain skills you want skilled because you really like having them ready when you start with a new sim or household? I love to have my sims jog places, so a skill in athletics is great. I also love to have them socialize with other sims, so at least one charisma skill is nice too.
Are there particular skill items that you really like having in a build? I think a t.v. is my favorite skill item as they gain fun while learning as long as they have a skill point first, like cooking.
Other: I always say that my favorite gift is you enjoying your game. Show me pictures of your favorite spots and moments and I’ll be happy!

Woot! I just made it through the entire thread. Lots of great simmers here. A big welcome to @DinoJr and welcome back to those who drifted away awhile and are looking forward to simming in the land of Sims3 again.

I was gone on spring break and stayed electronic-free most of the time, enjoying hiking and natural beauty, along with snow! I just got back in town about 12 hours ago and have finally caught up on missed posts.

I look forward to seeing all the interesting adventures we will have here.

@ciane That vacation sounds lovely, its nice to get away from technology for a few days, I always feel really rested when I tech short tech breaks. There is this natural park with a huge garden I live near I visit a lot when the weather is nice. Feels like stepping back in time with the plants and the quiet, very rejuvenating.

That natural park and garden sound awesome! Yes, I love unplugging now and then. Just having a cell phone in sight tends to make everyone anxious to check facebook and emails! I am glad I was able to ignore everything for a week. But, it's nice to be back and see what I missed as well. I think maybe just a check-in once a week would work well for me.
