Looking for CC-Free Community Lots for Hidden Springs

Hey, guys! I've been playing with the Funke family in Hidden Springs (which is one of my favorite worlds) on and off for a couple years. Yesterday, I just got back in that save to work the kids up to University. What I really want is a lot for the youngest sim, Carol. She wants to be a "one sim band", so I would love to get recommendations of lots that would help her earn tips through her music. The world still looks the way it does, when you first open it, so any other community lots would be welcome, including updated lots for the ambition professions. There's no shortage of homes on the exchange, but if there is anything you really want to share, I'd be cool looking at some homes, too. At the time of the save, I was hesitant to download anything from the exchange because I don't want corrupted games, but now I'm more comfortable, as long as the simmer is trustworthy. I appreciate the help!

Additional info that might be helpful to you figuring out what I might want:

The father has been unemployed building up his skills (of that which are many) until the kids aged up to teenagers. He recently got a job in the political career track because of his "super popular" lifetime wish. I think he's at level 3.

The mother is still working her way up to her lifetime wish in the science career track. She's at level 6.

Irene had a hard time figuring out her passion, but a recent opportunity in school has inspired her to be an author.

Her twin brother (they're the same age, so I assume they're twins) is in the nerd group. He's mostly built up some of his logic skill and then he's taken a class in science, so he has one skill there as well.

Carol, the youngest, is really into music. She's taking an after school class in the music club. Her toddler years of playing with the xylophone has allowed her to advance to level 2 in most of the instruments. She's particularly adept in the guitar skill and piano. Additionally she loves the winter months, when she can participate in her other passion, snowboarding.

Lastly, if you want me to upload the family with all their skills and new looks (again, I don't use any CC), I'd love to. Just let me know if you're interested.

If you just want a community lot that'll attract enough foot traffic for your sim to earn tips, you could skip the custom lots and park her in front of the bookstore. This has always worked for me in SV and Riverview; after six to eight hours or so, my musician might have 20 sims listening and tipping. Obviously, sims stop showing up after a certain point, but a lot of them will stay until after midnight if my sim keeps playing.

Also, I don't know if you've seen, but the value of tips goes up each time your sim performs a song. You can spam this as much as you want—the "performance" counts towards the total even if the sim barely took out the instrument. But the tipping can spiral way out of control. I had one teen do this right after he maxed out his guitar skill, and he started earning §30k each day after school.

Whoa. Yeah, I don't want my sims to earn that much money! :D

I've been searching the exchange. I found one really good studio for all sorts of community lots if anyone is interested:
    https://www.thesims3.com/mypage/saitouamy/mystudio (all CC-Free)

It's going to be so hard to choose what I want in the game because, obviously, I can't fit everything, but these are really great. <3 I'm favoriting, like, everything.

Have you had Carol try playing for tips yet? I had a sim in the music career in HS. and had a terrible time with earning any tips. Unless it was on a weekend, hardly anyone showed up at all when she played in the park. She did the best when she played in front of the theater before work, but usually, by the time a decent crowd showed up and actually started to tip, she had to quit and go to work.

One of the reasons I feel that it's an issue in HS is because the population is so small, compared to other EA towns. So I added three more families, all with children, some of them teens, and the situation improved drastically.

Another issue with getting tips is if there are too many community lots where the residents can go for entertainment, there won't be many coming to see your sim play. I had that issue in Appaloosa Plains. So adding in more lots might actually work against your sim. If you can find one place where she can draw a good crowd, it's best to just stick with that one place.

I have several community lots in my studio too. I use a lot of store content in some of them but there are several and they do get visits from other sims. There are rollercoasters, about 5, a wedding venue, savvy seller stores, bakeries, a supernatural park with the rabbit holes from Supernatural and other things including the fountain of youth that comes with Hidden Springs.

@IreneSwift, not yet. It's hard to manage their time, when they've got school and then homework and they'll be scolded if they're out late. :s

I'll definitely have to take a look at how many families I've got in this one. It's been a long time since I've played with this save, so I don't remember if I added any others.

Thanks for the information! I'm usually a builder and only have grown to like and come back to a select few families and sims I've made (the Funkes, here, and Don Lothario in Riverview. He's had quite a life, that's for sure). This is one of them. Because of that, there's so much I haven't explored in this game. Carol will be my first sim to take part in the music career and, hopefully, form a band. I'll have to deal with a shortage of tips, if that ends up being the case. Before I added some lots in today, the only places they went that didn't include their home or a rabbit hole was the park and gym. Now they've got shops, a bowling ally, restaurants, etc. I think it will make it a little more fun and maybe more chaotic. . . The older siblings each have love interests, now that they went to prom (one date aged up to adult, already. Bah!)Should be a challenge. LOL.

I've always loved your studio, Karritz. I remember way back when, when a new store set would come out like the bakery, roller coaster, and savvy sellers and you'd create a thread dedicated to that stuff. Those were the days. :heartbreak: I actually downloaded your "Rainbow Gondola" awhile back. I thought it was so pretty, when you first shared it, but like I said in my op, I was hesitant to download anything at the time.

@60smusicluvr those threads using the store sets are still active in the Store forum. They are usually on the first page and occasionally still add their new builds. You might find something there if you want to have a look. Have fun. I hope you enjoy the gondola lot.
