Me too @Mikezumi i get so emotional when my very first horse even died i left the game for a week i was so broken i couldn't get over the pain what hurt more was when it visited in the game and my sim who loved the horse would interact with it, the love for it's ghost was still there, broke me even more, like a broken love story. My husband said but it's a game. i'm like NO it's not it's Sims life and i love my characters they are my babies.
I completely understand what you mean about attachment to sims. Some (nasty characters i don't care for much) but ones i'm attached to i just can't deal with them dying. My sim self died 3 times in my very first game to my devastation and 2 unicorns brought her back with grim reapers work then the third time she had the flower and gave it to him to my shock, i ended up extending her life and let her live i just couldn't have her die. i get so attached to my sims too they really do become your family. I hate the times they depart it kills me i always have to not touch the game as their ghosts upset me seeing them and their interactions are so beautiful, reminds me of the brave heart theme song, by James Horner ... the love.. it hurts so much

YES playing a member and extending their lives is something i do i'm the same as long as i have them backed up i will go back to them, i'm still new to it all and only played a few characters but death still doesn't go down well for me, i just crumble i get so attached especially when they do their own things and are really beautiful characters even the animals.
When the first family dog died that was it i couldn't let them have another it hurt and he kept coming to visit them... it was only a challenge i was doing so the goal was breeding foals but i got to love characters. sadly i lost a lot when my pc crashed and i had to get a new hd but managed to save some of the sims, now i do nightly back ups as i will be crushed if i lose my characters now.
I feel normal talking to you about it, i felt strange most friends look at me and say what but it's a game, i'm like you don't understand these are my children you get attached.. only a sim player would understand that love.
@bebasim Fife got the angler trait when he aged up to child but even so he has done well given how short his life has been so far.
I haven't played many worlds but I do love the lighting in Monte Vista. I am used to Sunset Valley as it is where I have mostly played since I got the game but a change is nice occasionally. Perhaps I should try some lighting mods so I don't have to leave Sunset Valley!
I did briefly try a lighting mod when I played in Midnight Hollow and I might have downloaded a couple different ones at the same time. I should check through my files.
I am dreading Jordan dying too. He has actually gone about 7 or 8 days over his life expectancy! My elders get 8 days which is proportionately more than they should get with the lifespan I am playing but I like my elders
There are some things only other simmers understand!
@Mikezumi i noticed your photos are brighter and better than i can get i thought the same to look up some lighting mods, might have to try it out too.
Ahh makes sense why Fife is flying through it but still like you said for the short time of his age he's done exceptionally well.
I havent been to monte vista yet and only once started sunset valley before my game crashed the very first time i might have to try it out. I think lighting mods are a great help and idea

Sam wanted to fish before 6am. John didn't come out this time but that's to be expected with ghosts.
Since both Elspet and Fife have cooking skills, I was hoping that one of them would roll a wish to make pancakes but it didn't happen. Lazy kids! Elspet probably didn't roll one because she had a wish to prepare autumn salad locked in since 5am when the lettuce plant was ready to harvest.
Euan only had one wish and that was to visit the cemetery so I cheated and teleported him there so he wouldn't be late for school. While he was there he met Jonathan Frio, Connor's son. He will be an elder soon.
Elspet made her salad after the breakfast dishes were cleared.
Fife got a wish to hang out with Sam over breakfast so I sent him to water the garden. He didn't roll a wish to level up but he leveled up to 4 before the school bus came. Jordan rolled a wish to play a game with Beathan as he was walking to breakfast.
Beathan's waking wish was to fish. I had the boys fish together
Jordan caught a new fish, a kissing gourami. He wanted to learn the bait and I couldn't for the life of me remember it so I quickly opened my tablet and did a search. When I discovered that goldfish was the bait I had to raid the inventory of another family member to get some.
Euan went on a field trip to the Theatre. Brenda Lothario was the chaperone and the girl beside her is Ella Racket.
When the boys fished the spawners dry, I let Jordan do what he wanted. Beathan is working on a wish to paint something worth §2,000.
I had Sam make pancakes to replace what had been eaten in the morning. Once again, he chose cocoa. I'll have to grow some more because I was keeping the cocoa for a nectar that has cocoa and strawberries.
Jordan rolled a wish to meet someone new. I sent him into town and he met Eunice Frio, wife of Jared's son, Jason and mother of Liana's husband, Reggie.
Other sims started arriving while Jordan was chatting
After a while, Artair and his wife, Brianna, also showed up Artair and Brianna aged up to elder later in the day.
I got a popup that Brett Marsters was coming home with Fife and that Jeanne was coming home with Elspet.
Brett and Jeanne bumped into each other in the doorway and ended up doing their homework outside.
When my camera zoomed to Jordan, I let out a yelp and paused the game for a few minutes while I braced myself
"I'm coming, John!"
I was hoping that Euan would get home after Grim had been but no such luck
Like John, Jordan went peacefully and with dignity.
It may seem heartless but Jordan wouldn't want to stand in the way of love. I got a popup earlier in the day that Prom was coming up and Fife's future husband was fortunately at hand.
In real life I would have excused my child from homework after losing someone so near and dear but Euan can't afford a grade drop. Because he got back the 2 days I stole from him as baby, he will have just enough time to get on the honor roll.
As soon as I moved Jordan's headstone, Jeanne went out to mourn him. What a good granddaughter. I did, however, remove the mourning moodlet from her after Grim had done his reaping.
My kids, on the other hand, only went out to check out the new flowers
I also removed the mourning moodlet from witnessing a death so that Brett wouldn't have to suffer unnecessarily as he had never met Jordan. I can't remember his traits but I am sure he's not athletic. I guess it shows by this fail
Here's a closer look at Brett. He is the son of my Ian Somerhalder and Spike sims. They were tweaked (softened) and gender switched before adding them to the game to keep my genders balanced. They have two sons, Brett and his brother whose name I can't recall. They were made specifically for Fife and Euan.
Although Jeanne was having fun, I had to send her home early because it was her birthday.
Brett stayed for dinner.
Sam introduced himself to Brett after dinner and I think Fife is asking his dad for a game of catch.
Euan and Fife went out for a game of catch while Brett finished his homework. Sam and Beathan watched the stars
Elspet came home from school with a wish to watch the stars with Martin. I found him at the local pool.
After some flirting, I had her kiss Martin goodbye and sent her home to bed.
@bebasim I don't know how powerful your computer so don't know how high you can turn up your graphics. Mine are set quite high even though I don't have a tech bone in my body and don't know if I am doing the wrong thing on this laptop but I figure if I kill it, I will just go out and buy another.
Although Jordan no longer sits with the family, his legacy lives on through his perfect meals, forever preserved in the MinusOne Kelvin Refrigerator. I once had a save where the 14th generation were still eating meals prepared by the founder.
Fife rolled a wish to prepare garden salad. I get this wish from at least one sim every time the lettuce is ready to be harvested. I rarely feed my sims salad and a lot of it gets thrown out because it's very rare for a sim to prepare anything higher than excellent quality on their first attempt. It is a good wish, though, for triggering wishes to level up.
Elspet had a wish to hang out with Sam's sister. After calling her, I had her water the garden. She rolled a wish to level up but there's a good chance she won't get her wish before she ages up.
Euan had no waking wishes but rolled a wish to talk with Sam which was fulfilled over breakfast.
Beathan's waking wish was to paint.
To keep Sam amused I directed him to the piano when he pulled out his guitar since he has already mastered that.
When Sam rolled a wish to catch a bug, I sent him to a nearby spawner.
I don't know if it bit him or if he just freaked out but he didn't catch it.
I sent him further afield and he caught a butterfly which didn't get away
Beathan was still working on his painting when Sam returned so I had him prepare some waffles for the fridge.
I timed it perfectly and they were finished at the same time
I got a popup that Martin was coming home with Fife
He made it to the table to do his homework!
Euan got home just as the big kids were finishing up their homework.
I was going to have Fife ask Jordan to teach him how to drive the previous day but it was not to be.
Although he didn't wish it, I sent Euan on a submarine adventure. I wanted him to do some kid stuff before he ages up.
I saw Elspet and Martin heading to the elevator. Martin was the instigator!
I heard the sound of something breaking and quickly zoomed in on Euan!
Elspet walked past with a book so I went looking for Martin. I found him mourning Jordan
Ella Racket was supposed to come home with Euan but had Art Class and came later. I had seen Sam talking with Elspet and, being family oriented, I suspect he told her to improve her skills.
Elspet wasn't the only one exercising. Martin had been shooting hoops when everyone was called to dinner.
We have visitors, boys!
Fife autonomously fished so I sent Euan to join him so Sam and Beathan could watch the stars in peace.
Elspet and Martin were facing the house but I don't think they noticed

I found Jordan breaking space rocks. He didn't produce any gems this time because he had spent so much of his visit shooting hoops but I am sure he will keep the family well provided for even in death

I sent Beathan over to meet Mary. She is a gender switched version of my Spike sim. I did soften up his angular face quite a bit as it was mostly his eyes that I wanted.
Although Brett's family were inside, Brett stood by the door for a long time so I sent Fife out to talk to him.
While Beathan chatted with Mary, Sam chatted with his sister.
I saw Brett about to go down on his knee from the corner of my eye! It's way too soon but I can live with it
Euan and Elspet chose to bowl.
I sent Fife upstairs to meet his future mother-in-law, Ida She is a gender switched, softened, version of my Ian Somerhalder sim She looks a little hard as an adult but she was lovely as a YA.

When Euan finished bowling, I had him chat with his future husband, Greg

Timothy is now an elder. He was the well muscled, shirtless sim that Jordan was talking to at the bowling alley a few updates ago.
The family only stayed at the party for a couple of hours as they had to get home for Elspet's birthday.

I had Fife run off the chocolate cake He rolled a wish to go for a jog when he got the athletic skill earlier in the day.
Sam and Beathan weren't lined up right when they started this animation! I think that Euan knocked them off course when he ran past them to go fishing.
The kids all had fishing wishes. It kept them entertained while Sam and Beathan enjoyed some alone time
I didn't hear the ghost music so John must have come while I was doing the nightly birthday makeovers.
@bebasim Sorry to distress you but you needn't fret. Jordan will be back again because he is one of my favourites.
I have a mod that stops foot tapping - they still get stuck in doorways but they don't tap their feet.

@Mikezumi oh Sweetheart It's ok lovely i saw his face and your comments and just couldn't brace myself to see anymore, it is a part of life and a sim life too... the best part we can bring them back I went to make a coffee and RL got in the way... so i'm back to see what happens as i'm curious and i know Jordan and John have both done so great look at their beautiful children and Grandchildren Personally i think it would of been much harder for you as you were playing the game *hugs* plus we have gorgeous Beathean to look at a stunning product of the two men
It is amazing how everyone near by will come to mourn, sims have nawww moving yet very legendary images. It makes the heart skip a beat almost like they are tending to a funeral, saying their last goodbyes.. thats what those photos remind me of, a sims gathering. he's gone to be with his faithful partner John, now they can both be together

I made a boo boo. Cliff is Sam's dad. Cliff was born in another save to an inactive family and I loved the look of him so much that I played him with Jordan in another save. Sam is an intentional clone of Cliff

John appeared just before I saved and quit the night before. I saw from his tag that he was about to shoot some hoops but that must have been cancelled when I reloaded because he went straight to the pool.
You should have worked on those diving skills when you were alive, John! The last pic in this sequence showed a huge splash but I prefer not to show it because ghosts shouldn't have enough substance to displace water
It's Euan's birthday, Graduation Day for Elspet and Prom Night!
Sam woke with a wish to water the plants so I let him water one so that Elspet could get her wish to level up. She did
Fife and Euan had fishing wishes. John was on his way to the board breaker but vanished before he could break any.
After the morning chores were done, the family went to the Town Hall for Elspet's Graduation ceremony.
She was voted "Most likely to take over the world" I checked on Martin in map view and his graduation was not due to finish for a few hours.
The booby-trapped sofa was driving me crazy so I had Fife "defuse" the whoopee cushion
Although he looked annoyed, he got a good moodlet
Euan wanted to play catch with Fife but I am sure he regretted it Not sure why Fife is so strong since he only has 3 athletic skill points.
When Martin's graduation ceremony was over, I added him to the household
Martin had lots of wishes, including learning the cooking skill, so I got started on them before they got carried away by woohoo
When I realized that Martin was only an acquaintance to Sam and Beathan, I decided I better change that!

When Brett arrived for Prom, he went straight to Fife to give him flowers Unfortunately the limo got there before he could present them Because he hadn't interacted with anyone, he didn't get in the limo so I had to MC him to the school. Actually, I am not too sad about it because I hate Prom! It was not well thought out at all
After the boys left for Prom, it was time for Euan's birthday.

Only Sam rolled a wish for a grandchild! I was amazed given Beathan was the one who rolled the bulk of the kid wishes! Perhaps he was just too sad to see his daughter go

Fife came home with a wish to do a cardio exercise.
When Sam and Beathan got home from the bowling alley, I had Euan ask him for help learning to drive. Beathan was the only one who wished to teach him.
When Euan learned the MA skill, he rolled a wish to spar with someone so I had Fife learn the skill while he was out learning to drive.
I released him when he got his skill point and he went straight to Sam to ask about his day
While Beathan was out, he rolled a wish to go skinny dipping. Since teaching driving is stressful, I let him have his wish on his return Euan went straight for the training dummy and Fife, who loves the outdoors, asked Sam for a game of catch.

Me too @Mikezumi i get so emotional when my very first horse even died i left the game for a week i was so broken i couldn't get over the pain what hurt more was when it visited in the game and my sim who loved the horse would interact with it, the love for it's ghost was still there, broke me even more, like a broken love story. My husband said but it's a game. i'm like NO it's not it's Sims life and i love my characters they are my babies.
I completely understand what you mean about attachment to sims. Some (nasty characters i don't care for much) but ones i'm attached to i just can't deal with them dying. My sim self died 3 times in my very first game to my devastation and 2 unicorns brought her back with grim reapers work then the third time she had the flower and gave it to him to my shock, i ended up extending her life and let her live i just couldn't have her die. i get so attached to my sims too they really do become your family. I hate the times they depart it kills me i always have to not touch the game as their ghosts upset me seeing them and their interactions are so beautiful, reminds me of the brave heart theme song, by James Horner ... the love.. it hurts so much

The short time I played Pets on my son's computer, I couldn't allow the family cat to die, though. The cat lived through several generations of the family and would have lived longer if the save didn't become unplayable due to bloat.
My son knows how I feel about my sims and when I make noises he turns to me and says "What did your sims do now?". He probably thinks I am crazy but he humours me

It is funny how our family react to our emotions when we play. My hubby thinks i'm mad but he wants to be in on the laughs lol

YES playing a member and extending their lives is something i do i'm the same as long as i have them backed up i will go back to them, i'm still new to it all and only played a few characters but death still doesn't go down well for me, i just crumble i get so attached especially when they do their own things and are really beautiful characters even the animals.
When the first family dog died that was it i couldn't let them have another it hurt and he kept coming to visit them... it was only a challenge i was doing so the goal was breeding foals but i got to love characters. sadly i lost a lot when my pc crashed and i had to get a new hd but managed to save some of the sims, now i do nightly back ups as i will be crushed if i lose my characters now.
I feel normal talking to you about it, i felt strange most friends look at me and say what but it's a game, i'm like you don't understand these are my children you get attached.. only a sim player would understand that love.
I haven't played many worlds but I do love the lighting in Monte Vista. I am used to Sunset Valley as it is where I have mostly played since I got the game but a change is nice occasionally. Perhaps I should try some lighting mods so I don't have to leave Sunset Valley!
I did briefly try a lighting mod when I played in Midnight Hollow and I might have downloaded a couple different ones at the same time. I should check through my files.
I am dreading Jordan dying too. He has actually gone about 7 or 8 days over his life expectancy! My elders get 8 days which is proportionately more than they should get with the lifespan I am playing but I like my elders

Ahh makes sense why Fife is flying through it but still like you said for the short time of his age he's done exceptionally well.
I havent been to monte vista yet and only once started sunset valley before my game crashed the very first time i might have to try it out. I think lighting mods are a great help and idea

Since both Elspet and Fife have cooking skills, I was hoping that one of them would roll a wish to make pancakes but it didn't happen. Lazy kids!
Euan only had one wish and that was to visit the cemetery so I cheated and teleported him there so he wouldn't be late for school. While he was there he met Jonathan Frio, Connor's son. He will be an elder soon.
Elspet made her salad after the breakfast dishes were cleared.
Fife got a wish to hang out with Sam over breakfast so I sent him to water the garden. He didn't roll a wish to level up but he leveled up to 4 before the school bus came. Jordan rolled a wish to play a game with Beathan as he was walking to breakfast.

Jordan caught a new fish, a kissing gourami. He wanted to learn the bait and I couldn't for the life of me remember it so I quickly opened my tablet and did a search. When I discovered that goldfish was the bait I had to raid the inventory of another family member to get some.
Euan went on a field trip to the Theatre. Brenda Lothario was the chaperone and the girl beside her is Ella Racket.
When the boys fished the spawners dry, I let Jordan do what he wanted. Beathan is working on a wish to paint something worth §2,000.
I had Sam make pancakes to replace what had been eaten in the morning. Once again, he chose cocoa. I'll have to grow some more because I was keeping the cocoa for a nectar that has cocoa and strawberries.
Jordan rolled a wish to meet someone new. I sent him into town and he met Eunice Frio, wife of Jared's son, Jason and mother of Liana's husband, Reggie.

Brett and Jeanne bumped into each other in the doorway and ended up doing their homework outside.
When my camera zoomed to Jordan, I let out a yelp and paused the game for a few minutes while I braced myself

I was hoping that Euan would get home after Grim had been but no such luck

In real life I would have excused my child from homework after losing someone so near and dear but Euan can't afford a grade drop. Because he got back the 2 days I stole from him as baby, he will have just enough time to get on the honor roll.
As soon as I moved Jordan's headstone, Jeanne went out to mourn him. What a good granddaughter. I did, however, remove the mourning moodlet from her after Grim had done his reaping.
My kids, on the other hand, only went out to check out the new flowers
I also removed the mourning moodlet from witnessing a death so that Brett wouldn't have to suffer unnecessarily as he had never met Jordan. I can't remember his traits but I am sure he's not athletic. I guess it shows by this fail
Here's a closer look at Brett. He is the son of my Ian Somerhalder and Spike sims. They were tweaked (softened) and gender switched before adding them to the game to keep my genders balanced. They have two sons, Brett and his brother whose name I can't recall. They were made specifically for Fife and Euan.
Although Jeanne was having fun, I had to send her home early because it was her birthday.
Brett stayed for dinner.
Sam introduced himself to Brett after dinner and I think Fife is asking his dad for a game of catch.

Fife rolled a wish to prepare garden salad. I get this wish from at least one sim every time the lettuce is ready to be harvested. I rarely feed my sims salad and a lot of it gets thrown out because it's very rare for a sim to prepare anything higher than excellent quality on their first attempt. It is a good wish, though, for triggering wishes to level up.
Elspet had a wish to hang out with Sam's sister. After calling her, I had her water the garden. She rolled a wish to level up but there's a good chance she won't get her wish before she ages up.
Euan had no waking wishes but rolled a wish to talk with Sam which was fulfilled over breakfast.
Beathan's waking wish was to paint.
To keep Sam amused I directed him to the piano when he pulled out his guitar since he has already mastered that.
When Sam rolled a wish to catch a bug, I sent him to a nearby spawner.
I don't know if it bit him or if he just freaked out but he didn't catch it.
I sent him further afield and he caught a butterfly which didn't get away
Beathan was still working on his painting when Sam returned so I had him prepare some waffles for the fridge.
I timed it perfectly and they were finished at the same time

Euan got home just as the big kids were finishing up their homework.
I was going to have Fife ask Jordan to teach him how to drive the previous day but it was not to be.
Although he didn't wish it, I sent Euan on a submarine adventure. I wanted him to do some kid stuff before he ages up.
I saw Elspet and Martin heading to the elevator. Martin was the instigator!
I heard the sound of something breaking and quickly zoomed in on Euan!
Elspet walked past with a book so I went looking for Martin. I found him mourning Jordan
Ella Racket was supposed to come home with Euan but had Art Class and came later. I had seen Sam talking with Elspet and, being family oriented, I suspect he told her to improve her skills.
Elspet wasn't the only one exercising. Martin had been shooting hoops when everyone was called to dinner.

Fife autonomously fished so I sent Euan to join him so Sam and Beathan could watch the stars in peace.

Fife had a wish to catch a 50kg fish. I went a little overboard and put in a crocodile spawner. This little thing actually weighed 450kg!

By the time Beathan had finished off the rest of the gardening, Sam was done with his workout
I found Jordan breaking space rocks. He didn't produce any gems this time because he had spent so much of his visit shooting hoops but I am sure he will keep the family well provided for even in death

Although Brett's family were inside, Brett stood by the door for a long time so I sent Fife out to talk to him.
While Beathan chatted with Mary, Sam chatted with his sister.
I saw Brett about to go down on his knee from the corner of my eye! It's way too soon but I can live with it

It's Euan's birthday, Graduation Day for Elspet and Prom Night!
Sam woke with a wish to water the plants so I let him water one so that Elspet could get her wish to level up. She did
Fife and Euan had fishing wishes. John was on his way to the board breaker but vanished before he could break any.
After the morning chores were done, the family went to the Town Hall for Elspet's Graduation ceremony.
She was voted "Most likely to take over the world"
The booby-trapped sofa was driving me crazy so I had Fife "defuse" the whoopee cushion
Although he looked annoyed, he got a good moodlet
Euan wanted to play catch with Fife but I am sure he regretted it
When Martin's graduation ceremony was over, I added him to the household

After the boys left for Prom, it was time for Euan's birthday.

I noticed that Aileas had moved into a smaller house when her kids grew up and moved out so it would be the perfect family home for Elspet and Martin. First to get them married!
Only Sam rolled a wish for a grandchild! I was amazed given Beathan was the one who rolled the bulk of the kid wishes! Perhaps he was just too sad to see his daughter go
