~Would love to see witches and complex potion making/spells
    ~Definitely bunkbeds
~More street clothes, ie. jeans, different fit tees, grunge-type clothes. My sims always feel a little preppy
~Would like to see a true poly option without using cheats
~A true ginger color for hair, current ones tend to be unnatural, usually too orange
~Option pop up for young adult to move out on their own when aging up from teen (I know I can do it through World Manage but would be fun to have it be an auto option that system handles)

Bring back and add more Occult Life States - Fairies, Mermaids, Genies, Witches/Sorceress/Sorcerers/Warlocks, Werewolves, Mummy, Zombie, etc.

Bring more romance interactions and more supernatural. More traits that will make a big impact on the sims personality rather than only giving moodlets. More pool objects like slides and aquaparks, and I want to see my sims' ages, ahh and many more.

I thought the objective of The Sims was to simulate real life but in a less stressful way. However, TS4 has removed nearly all of the “real and relatable” attributes. Here are a few things (I’ll try to be brief but I’m making no guarantees because I am quite long winded and have so much to say) that I would like to see return to The Sims:

    Storyline:

Please bring back the storyline. TS4 gets pretty boring at times because there’s not a storyline. Instead all objectives are based on filling career moodlets and skills. Bring back the options to carry out and complete tasks such as baking cookies for the bake sale, entering dishes in cooking contest, fitness challenges, becoming friends with someone; you get my drift. Bring back celebrities and the option to work towards becoming a celebrity or well-known public figure (such as a Mayor).

    Travel:

Cars (for personal use and travel), carpools (for employment), school buses (for children and teens who go to school), and bikes (for traveling around the city if you don’t want or can’t afford a car). Speaking of bikes it would be super cool for bike riding to count towards a form of exercise. Even skateboards or rollerblades could be a cool addition as well.

    Worlds:

The worlds have condensed tremendously in size which leaves us with few places to visit for fun plus even less places to actually live. There are parks but the parks have so little to offer for both children, teens, and adults. There are no beaches, ponds, or lakes that offer places to swim, fish, or just hangout for the outdoor lover Sims. There are no public grills at the park to enjoy a nice picnic or temporary fill of the hunger motive. It would be nice to see the swings, slides, footballs, baseballs, and water sprinklers return to TS again. All of the nice apartments and homes are already reserved by families that you rarely ever see and there’s no real way of editing the town or evicting tenants (if there is I’m unaware). Where did the criminals go? Let’s face it: real life has criminals. Taking away home break-ins is like having your sims live in paradise where nothing bad ever happens. Even add car break-ins or the theft of your car to coincide with the actions of Sims who are on the criminal career path; plus it makes it more realistic.

Bring back the clubs so that sims can go out on the town to hear live music or listen to a DJ spin the latest hits. There are no options to order food at the bar anymore. So if your sim is hungry they can only grab chips and salsa (which not only sucks as an option but it’s also not very interesting).

I don’t know about anyone else but I enjoyed being able to go to the grocery store and shop for fruit, vegetables, meat, bubble bath, birthday cake, and mood candles.

    Careers:

The career fields are not far and in between as most are not real careers. What happened to having a career in the Medical field (being a Doctor or Nurse)? What happened to being in the Military or being a police officer or firefighter? What happened to being a Scientist or Teacher? Where are the part-time jobs that actually have schedules that mesh with your full-time job hours? Not every person is employed as an astronaut in real life. I guess that’s why I don’t really understand the obsession with the rockets and astronauts in TS4.

    Pregnancy:

When your sim is pregnant they no longer have any physical signs of morning sickness but instead have the nausea moodlet. Let’s be honest here...real pregnancies are not always fresh flowers and a bottle of delicious wine. Bring back the backache due to carrying your baby, morning sickness at any time (because that’s how it occurs in real life), and gaining weight. An idea for after the baby has been delivered is exercising to get your postnatal body back.

    Lots:

Where are the restaurants and movie theater? I miss meeting up with my mate or friends to enjoy a nice meal and drinks or viewing a movie. The concerts and sport games are missed as well. It gave you the feeling of your sim getting out and doing something other than working and sleeping all the time. Bring back the option to purchase real estate, the option to fire a sim at establishments (even add the option to hire different Sims for job positions), and the option to be a business partner.

    Children & Teens:

Children and teens should have the option to do homework together, work on school projects, practice for plays, and study for quizzes and tests together. They can even try out for sports at school or join school clubs to make it realistic. Also give the option to sleep over at a friends house. Teens should have the option to go steady with a boyfriend or girlfriend because that’s what happens in real life. Bring back the library as well so that children and teens (and adults) can utilize it to fulfill skills. Also bring back skill classes.

    Finally:

Last but not least (yes I realize I wrote a book...sorry...not sorry): Bring back the option to bring your group to your house after a group outing, to invite a sim to stay the night, and searching for valuable collectibles and insects. Bring back the option to customize furniture and clothing as there are a lot of objects and clothes that don’t match or look good in the current patterns provided.

Add the ability to text, call, visit friends, or hangout with friends in the city during the twilight hours because in real life not everyone goes to sleep at 10 PM. I like, however, the fact that sims can remain at establishments until they are ready to go home and that businesses don’t just close up and shoo them out when they’re having a good time. I also like that no matter where your sims move in TS4 that their friends can continue to visit them and maintain their relationships instead of losing all friends and careers as it once was because real life doesn’t always work that way.

I really hope that all of our suggestions are considered and will slowly emerge within updates and/or upcoming Sims games and expansion packs!

ROMANCE with loyalty perks/traits/whatever....county stuff (you city slickers have the spotlight enough) horses, snow with skiing, something more to do in Sixam than just walk around collecting rocks, beach/tropical trip....slow dancing...these are my main ones I believe.

A seasons expansion, a beach metropolis, more apartments, roommates, sun bathing, ocean activities, more sports, witches, fairies, laptops, a portable bubble blower, rollerblades, bikes, skateboards, cars, motorcycles, more careers, more mature humor, illnesses and disabilities, a fame system, a casino, concerts, world events/disasters/politics, off the grid/farming, banks and loan system, a habitable space station, a lunar colony, a sixam colony, more vacation spots.

Pick two or three because that's likely all we'll get lol.

Yes they really need to expand Sixam because come on that planet is not fun.

I could think of a lot of content I’d like, but what I /need/ is more traits and more aspirations. There aren’t enough to keep things interesting as my sim families progress throughout the generations.

I also wish we had more aspirations that can take a long time to accomplish, like the big happy family one. I love that one because your sim cannot achieve it until their child is grown and married. Makes it more realistic.

    I would like
    1. Seasons/Weather with the ability to have severe weather that leaves debris (that would make our neat sims go crazy)
    2. Education elementary-college with teacher career available
    3. Farming with animals, MORE HARVESTABLES,
    4. more hobbies/skills like florist, sculptor, glass blowers, knitters, canning (artisan pack) not all creative people write, paint, play instrument
    5. photo booths or fix the photography studio it's useless
    6. the ability to call yourself an entrepreneur
    7. shops/stores even if they are wormholes. it really bothers me that there are no stores or movies or concert halls, etc
    8. the ability to give gifts to another sim. birthday presents, wedding presents, graduation presents, I really like you presents, cleaning out my junk so here you go presents
    9. Fashion/celebrity careers
    10. the ability to call any food cart for delivery
    11. more Afrocentric hairstyles/textures
    12. more part-time jobs
    13. height difference for teens/young adults
    14. European vacation spot with wine-making, glass-blowing, sculpting, artisan cheese making, lots of cheese recipes
    15. more variety of paintings. I feel like my sims keep painting the same thing over and over.
    16. the ability to have someone pose for their portrait
    17. stronger family ties, once they move out they lose that bond.
    18. I like how in TS3 I was able to put the number of days that I wanted my sim to live each life stage. I could put baby for 2 and toddler for 14 etc. Can we bring that back?
    19. I would like to have more life events like prom, sleep over, honeymoon, funeral, bachelor party, baby shower, bridal shower
    20. I would like to totally revamp the baby stage. we should be able to interact with the baby take it around the house, off the lot, use a stroller. I posted on this somewhere else. Put clothes on the baby. have a nursing mom SIT down to bond with the baby. traits for babies depend on mother's pregnancy. mood-swinging mother=colic baby=fussy/clingy toddler an active mom=alert baby=inquisitive or independent toddler etc. If we are playing with "emotions" then let's play!

    It sounds

slow dance fear danger more deaths

    Slow dancing would be amazing!
have sims afraid of things again would be cool remember the sims who were afraid of water and technology.
Danger sounds really broad can you explain?
More random deaths would be good too.

I need sims to have actual awareness of each other. From reactions to cheating and to death within the household/extended family/friends.

    Story below:
I just witnessed one of my sims die in a fire. Autumn was home alone. I made her fiance come home from work to help out. A little too late, he watched her perish. Didn't cry until I got the death notification. Hours later the teenagers come home. Everyone but the fiance oblivious to the events. One out of four knew someone died in the house. I had Autumn's daughter cry at her grave to get a picture. Pretending she was truly mourning her mother instead of having a 4 hour moodlet from "mourning a friend".

I don't play with ghosts so I truly hope the game eventually treats death seriously. No texts from the grave unless the ghost "lives" in a household. Instead let no sim be forgotten.

Eta: I also need the recognition of step-parents/siblings, in-laws, extended cousins, etc.

    My Most Wanted list:
    • weather!!
    • active school for kids & teens
    • a rural world with farming
    • more careers, especially "normal" ones
    • stair landings and spiral stairs
    • auto-roofs (I am still bad at roofs)
    • sitting with babies and not putting them back in cribs between actions (even freer babies would be lovely! but those are my personal main things)
    • more for Elders

-Seasons with a tick button to turn off snow, rain, hail, etc.
-University to include a more in-depth way for studies all the way around including children, maybe even add back private schools
-Supernatural beings tick button to not be over populated with them
    -Magic
    -Alchemy
    -Juicing
    -Farming
    -Canning
-More fish recipes that mean going out to fish them up first
-Generations offering unique interactions for Teens edit: and Elders
    -Color Wheel
-Story Progression with a tick button to turn it off
-Another future pack which fleshes out Aliens more than they are
-More semi-open worlds at the very least

I'm sure I have more things I want but they are noticed while playing other games and right now i'm a bit distracted with my son coming in from school lol. Didn't read any of the ideas so that I wouldn't accidentally take from anyone else's post, so if I repeated anything well... +1 from me then I guess :-).

    Forgot to add:

    - Laptops
    - Bunk beds
    - Sleepovers
    - the ability to ask someone to watch your kids like in TS2 apartments instead of hiring a nanny
    - Weather though I'm optimistic this is the Seasons year
    - Spiral Staircases
    - definitely want auto-roofs back
    - More romantic interactions. And shower woohoo.
    - Family portraits and taking picture of toddlers. And group pictures.

I agree on the cars, grocery stores, criminals, whole of the pregnancy and the storyline issue. I believe the storyline is when sims actually have a life while we are playing instead of dying with no children or spouse/partner.

I think sims should come with a family tree and a bit of a storyline and whilst we control our sims, actually have weddings and exciting parties and children.

When my sims have more than one children I pick the next sim to play and with the other one, I need to move them out, eventually give them a partner and eventually give them kids and then it starts all over again.

I think they should be able to do that on their own so I can focus on my sims. For moving out when they become young adults, players should get a message like this: <Sims name> is now a young adult, would you like him/her to move out?

If you click on no there should be a way on the phone to move a singular sim out of the household instead of moving them into a household outside of the world, removing the other sim and then making a house for the sim.

    More interactive careers
More, deeper characteristics to truly make Sims unique and less predictable and allow for deeper, more unique relationships with attraction and chemistery (mentioned similarly below, because I lost my head while writing and I guess it’s truly important)
    round/spiral staircases, buildable elevators
    Celebrities, path to fame
    Cars
    Supermarkets
Burglars and bigger underground crime scene
    University and resulting careers
Sports (hobby and professional - with teams and school sports)
    Seasons & weather
    Horses
Travel destinations (see the destination topic for my suggestions), cultures, globe-trotter experience
More distinctive relationship & online dating
    More random events
Sims News (Newspaper, TV, online) about recent events, (politics), puzzle section (for logic skill), life events (marriage, deaths, etc), jobs, unique entries (for giggles) and adventures (like craig‘s list style ads where sims ask for help with random things and will pay you for it), dating section, pets adoption, new reporter career, option to hire them to review your business, (weather), (crime), column + columnist part-time job, and whatever else would fit in :) possibilities are nearly endless

Seasons is a great idea. Thanks to all saying that. I want adjustable height in CAS as well as more voice options. Accents would be great too!
Agree with cars, bring 'em back.

I wouldn't mind an up-to-date wetroom with all mod cons., which one's Sim could enter and attend to all wash, loo and bathing in one go and take less time about it all!
