Jared and Alexandra both have opportunities that take them traveling from Bridgeport to Champs Les Sims. Alexandra has never traveled outside of moving to Bridgeport and is excited about the trip. Jared traveled a few times with his parents, but, since he was confined to his quarters in the vacation home they may as well have left him at home. He is happy to be going with Alexandra and looks forward to exploring after they complete their tasks. Alexandra has been asked to collect recipes and provide some authentic meals when she returns. They both asked for a short leave from the studio and Jared was asked to scout locations while they traveled within the country.
Jared spoke with his contact and gathered the information necessary that will complete his opportunity when he returns home.
Alexandra purchased the recipes and a few local books. She decided to learn the recipes right away, and gave Jared one of the new mystery novels that she knew he would enjoy reading.
They finish reading their books and decide to go visit the nectary. The other tourists staying at the hostel have raved about the nectar and that it is a must visit spot. Jared browses the racks of nectar while Alexandra introduces herself to the merchant. The merchant gives them a sampling of some of her nectar and they sit at a small table in the back while they sample the nectar. They get a bit frisky after drinking the nectar and enjoy a few stolen kisses in the processing room.
They follow another couple down the nearby steps and find another tasting area. Jared picks out a new bottle and they enjoy the flavor of the fruits in this nectar. He keeps looking at one of the walls and decides something is fishy about that wall. He knocks on the wall and discovers it sounds hollow. He pokes and prods until he hears a snap and the wall slowly opens. He has discovered a hidden room and he grabs Alexandra's hand and they explore the room. There are several nectar racks with some aged bottles of nectar as well as a treasure chest filled with funny coins in the room. No one else seems to be interested in the hidden room. They both think that is strange.
They leave the hidden room and shut the door behind them. Alexandra is hungry and they decide to go to the cafe for dinner. They both order the bouillabaisse and enjoy it very much. Alexandra stops and plays with a butterfly on the way to the general store. Jared watches her as she plays with it and then lets it fly off. Jared wants to start exploring tomorrow and wants to get a few supplies in case they don't make it back to the hostel. Alexandra looks at the small pup tent. "No, not sleeping in that. I want big and comfy if we are sleeping outdoors." Jared thinks it looks pretty cozy, but, probably not very comfortable. He finds the larger ones in the back of the store. They make their purchases and talk with a few of the locals about where to go.
By the time they get back to the hostel it is dark. They sit outside and look at the stars and cuddle together before heading into bed.
The next morning Jared and Alexandra showered and got ready for the day. They decide to be frugal and save on water by showering together. Alexandra made some sticky buns for breakfast and they both thought she did a pretty good job considering she rarely cooks. She has learned a lot of recipes from reading, but, would rather read than cook. (This particular trait is exactly like me)
Jared's mind is on something other than exploring the countryside, so they go back upstairs to the room for a bit. After some loving, Jared pours some of the aged nectar they found yesterday, and they enjoy a glass or three. It is now lunch time and we see Alexandra cooking again! She had the wish to cook Jared's favorite meal. (creator cannot deny her that chance) Jared reads a bit more of the mystery novel while she is cooking. Jared thinks he could turn the novel 'The Shadow of the Tower' into an awesome movie. After they finish their meal they are finally ready to do some exploration.
The first stop is in the distant countryside. They are exploring a valley, climbing a small hill and at the top they are awed at the beauty of the world before them. They hear the distant rumble of a train and suddenly a train appears from the tunnel. Jared whips out his camera and takes a close up shot before the train disappears into another tunnel.
They continue wandering and arrive at a small home with a beautiful garden. The owner, Jean Luc Pivert, is in the garden and invites them into his home. They talk with him and both quickly realize the man is not completely sane, but seems harmless at the moment. He has a marvelous green thumb and they compliment him on the garden as well as his home. Alexandra asks about the fruit plants in his garden and he invites them to harvest the crop. He tells them about the Pomelo, Pomegranate and Plum trees that he has planted. The fruit is sweet and tasty and makes marvelous nectar he reports. Alexandra thinks her Dad would enjoy planting a few of the seeds so she plans to send a few to him.
They move on and spot an ancient burial mound with many gravestones among the standing stones. One stone has some ancient writing on it and they both wonder what it says. Jared takes a few pictures of the area to show his boss at the studio.
It is getting late and the map shows a campground nearby so they head in that direction. Jared lights the fire pit to get some warmth and light the area to keep any wild animals away. They both eat a piece of the fruit to tide them over for the night. The sit and enjoy the warmth and light from the fire and chat as they watch the stars move in the sky. They head into the tent, but, not to sleep. Jared forgot to set the anchors of the tent into the ground.
Jared and Alexandra awaken in very good moods despite finding two paparazzi arguing outside their tent when they got up. They quickly and silently packed the tent while the women were busy yelling at each other and left the campgrounds. They had found a flyer advertising a new park built in the outskirts of Champs Les Sims and they decided to go check it out. They arrive at the entrance of Venetian Gardens.
Jared thinks it looks like a beautiful place. "I can't wait to see it at night and watch the stars with you."
Alexandra loves that Jared has such a romantic soul. "I look forward to snuggling under the stars with you."
They cross over one of the bridges and enjoy the beauty of the Chapel in front of them. They go inside and realize it has been set up for a wedding. The go down the stairs and peek into the catacombs, but neither want to do any exploring down there. The upper floors are still under renovation and not open to the public yet.
They wander in the gardens and find a photobooth behind the chapel. Both want a memento of their visit so they go inside of the booth and take some fun romantic pictures. No...they were not naughty!
Crossing another bridge they find an archery range and practice shooting at the targets for awhile.
They both need to find the facilities and after asking a guide Alexandra enters through the fortune teller shop and Jared climbs up a flight of steps. They both end up in the same place. They enjoy a small snack until the paparazzi show up.
Jared and Alexandra go back across the bridge to get away from the paparazzi and find a gondolier who offers to take them on a ride around the gardens. Jared and Alexandra climb into the little gondola and enjoy the ride through the winding canals of the garden. They take advantage of the tunnel of love and pull a blanket over themselves for privacy. They exit the tunnel and Jared points to a stage and thinks that Melee and Brian need to visit with them the next time and see if Melee can perform here.
(for some reason Alexandra's hair and face glitches out in certain parts of the gondola ride, so forgive the strange picture, but I wanted a pic of the tunnel of love as they went through it)
They walk across the bridge to a little garden and well. Jared smiles at Alexandra enjoying how the moonlight shines in her eyes. Her kisses her softly and they relax on the grass and watch the stars in the skies. They have enjoyed their day at the gardens and still not seen it all. They hope when they return the renovations in the inn and the bistro will be complete.
@zeegee Thanks You can kiss, makeout or woohoo in the gondola. There is a chapel in the venue that the store team built. I didn't like the little tiny rooms in that venue so I decided to build my own. I still need to finish the 'inn' and the bistro area. But, I missed my Ballan family and went back to them for a bit and sent the kids to uni. here if you want to read it.
Oh you built that! Is it up for download? I swear I've seen it somewhere, in pictures or video I thought. Anyway, nice job. It's gorgeous. Ok I just booted up to start working on the vid but I need to check out the Ballans first.

Jared has heard the bistro is open at last. He tells Alexandra to change into one of her fancy outfits as they are going to check it out. They decide it is such a beautiful evening they will eat outside. They order one of the specialties of the chef's and a cherry cobbler dessert made with local grown cherries. They chat about how much they have enjoyed the visit to Champs Les Sims and that they want to come back and visit again.
After dinner they stroll down the walkways and stop at the wishing well. Jared looks at Alexandra and she is so beautiful in the setting sun. He takes her in his arms and kisses her. He hands her a bouquet of flowers he had hidden nearby. Alexandra admires the beautiful red roses, a symbol of eternal love. She starts to thank Jared with a kiss and he stops her. "Wait just a moment. I have one more surprise for you. I hope you like it."
He drops down on one knee and reaches into his pocket and removes a small box. Alexandra's heart starts racing, not sure if she believes what she is seeing. He opens the box and a dazzling ring is inside.
"Alexandra, since you have come into my life I feel complete. My heart is full of love and I hope for a future with you. I cannot imagine my life without you in it. I love you. Will you please marry me?"
"Yes, yes, yes! I will marry you." A few happy tears fall as Jared slips the ring on her finger. A perfect fit. Alexandra hugs Jared to her as she tells him "I love you. I'm so happy. " She leaps into his arms and he holds her close.
The sun goes down as they celebrate their engagement, holding each other, kissing and whispering endearments. The only sound is from the waters of the well and a few night crickets. It is getting late and they stand and stretch after sitting on the ground. Alexandra looks at the well.
"Do you want to make a wish?" she asks Jared.
He shakes his head looking at her,"No, I've got everything I could possibly want right here."
Jared and Alexandra are getting ready for their trip back home. They take one last visit to the market walking hand in hand and browsing in the shops. They wait for their taxi to the airport and both are thinking about marriage and weddings. Jared is all for getting married right away, no muss, no fuss. Just the two of them and a minister. He is trying to be understanding that her family would be hurt by that since his family wouldn't care, and he does not plan to invite them. He kisses her and tells her "I love you so much. I'd marry you barefoot in a field if that is what you want." They talk about making a visit to her home when they can take some time off work again so he can meet her family and start plans.
They arrive back in Bridgeport late at night. Jared pulls her close and kisses her. "Welcome back home soon to be Mrs. Padelecki. They might be tired, but the kisses ignite another desire and they hurry upstairs and scoot under the covers.
Melee is up early and fixes french toast for breakfast. She calls everyone to eat together. They chat about their trip and how fantastic Champs Les Sims was to visit. Jared asks Melee and Brian to come to the living room to chat after breakfast.
Jared and Alexandra take some time for morning kisses on the way to chat in the living room. Everyone is seated and Jared explains. "I asked Alexandra to marry me and she accepted." Alexandra shows off her ring. "Congratulations!!" "That is fantastic." Melee and Brian are up on their feet giving hugs and high fives (I know it looks like Brian is getting ready to slug Jared, awkward timing) as they congratulate the newly engaged couple.
Brian looks at Melee and she nods at him. "We have an announcement also. Melee has been offered an opportunity to perform at larger venues in Starlight Shores to further her career. I'm going with her. I will be transferring to the studio out there. The plane leaves tonight." Jared and Alexandra are both a bit stunned by the announcement, but, they are happy for both of them and that they will be together. "We can visit on vacations. You have to come to our wedding though." Alexandra tells them both.
"We wouldn't miss it." Melee promises.
They four spend the day enjoying time together in various fun activities in Bridgeport. They have become close friends during the last year they have roomed together and played and worked together. Alexandra and Jared will miss them very much and are sad to see them go. Lives change and they must accept the changes and move on. They watch the sunset outside at the Bistro after enjoying a meal there. They head back home to say goodbye.
A limo is sent to take Brian and Melee to the airport. Alexandra and Jared watch from the window as it drives down the street.
They hold each other close and go out to the hot tub to relax and soak and enjoy being together and think about how life changes.
It really does look like Brian is fixing to hit Jared!
Aaaw, saying goodbye to close friends is so sad.
But that hot tub foot, LOL! Never seen that before.

The house seemed quieter after Melee and Brian left. Melee was always playing an instrument and Brian usually had dance music on and was bopping to the beat. Jared and Alexandra settled in, getting used to being together and enjoying discovering more about each other. Jared discovered that Alexandra can get lost in time while reading books. Alexandra watched as Jared discovered the simple pleasures of cooking on a grill. He didn't even burn his first attempts.
They both continued to work on their skills and advance in their careers. Jared mastered his athletic skill and discovered that Alexandra gave awesome massages when his muscles were aching. Alexandra mastered cooking. She learned to make crepes while in France and fixed perfect ones to enjoy at breakfast. After the renovations in the kitchen were complete Alexandra discovered she enjoyed cooking and experimenting with new dishes. Jared was learning to prepare new foods as well, but, really enjoyed discovering the mixology skill.
After work they enjoy going out and relaxing at the karaoke bar, eating out, playing pool or dancing at one of the local clubs, or staying home and smooching in the hot tub.
Alexandra made her weekly call to her parents. She had previously told them about her engagement to Jared while still in France. Both expressed some caution to her as they had not met Jared yet. They knew about her relationship with Jared as Alexandra had not tried to hide anything from them. She had a good relationship with her Mom and had probably shared more than her Mom wanted to know. Her Mom had talked with Jared on the phone a few times when he answered the phone when Alexandra was not home. She thought he was polite and nice on the phone, but, nothing beats a face to face meeting.
After she completes her phone call, Alexandra practices the piano while waiting for Jared to finish working on a script. They have tickets for the game at the stadium and both enjoy watching their team win. Alexandra fixes spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner, which is one of her favorites.
They are off to work the next afternoon. Jared is now the second unit director and gets a new outfit to wear to work. He is only working 4 days a week now, but some of those days require several hours of overtime.
Alexandra is now the Production Manager. Her new work outfit was hideous and Alexandra spent some time in the wardrobe room to find something more to her liking. With her next promotion she will be able to start working as an actress.
The weather is very pretty and the bougainvillea is in bloom. They enjoy cuddling on the front porch until the paparazzi spy them. With looks of frustration they go back inside. Alexandra vows to plant some bougainvillea and ivy out back where the paparazzi cannot get to because of the fencing.
These two lovely ladies start a fight outside the diner. The one goes into labor and gives birth to a little boy. I forgot who the Dad is. She's been married to just about half the men in Bridgeport and I can't keep track of them.
Jared is promoted to script writer and his outfit remains the same. Alexandra is promoted and hired to star in a tv show. Her role as a maid might be small but she steals the limelight from the star of the show and the script writers including Jared change the script to broaden her role.
Jared has a celebrity appearance to make and wants Alexandra to go with him. (dag he is so gorgeous) The appearance is at the Prosper lounge and they enjoy the drink, but, not the atmosphere of the lounge. It is a bit of a stuffy place. They leave as soon as Jared has completed the appearance and find their way to Waylon's Haunt one of their favorite places.
Alexandra calls her Mom and tells her they both have a three day weekend coming up and she would like to bring Jared out to meet the family. Her Mom is very excited and tells her yes, of course, come right away. They pack a bag and decide to take the car rather than fly.
Alexandra and Jared arrive at her childhood home. Her parents are in the front yard as well as her older brother Nikita and his wife Allyson. Her father, Dimitri, calls Jared over as Alexandra gets hugged by her Mom, Kiara. Alexandra walks with her Mom over to say hi to her Dad and introduce Jared to her Mom.
Jared is getting the full treatment by meeting the entire family at once. He is very outgoing so he is not nervous. He loves meeting new people and he knows that he will love her family as he has heard so much about them from Alexandra. He meets her brothers Nikita and Anton, and Nikita's wife Allyson. Zane arrives last and greets Jared with a challenge to play a game. They go to the far corner of the yard and Zane tosses the Frisbee to him with a twist expecting him to fail to catch it. Jared is an old hand at Frisbee though having played many a game when he was at school and with Brian, and surprises Zane with his acrobatic twists and turns when throwing the disc.
Dimitri Sims loves being outdoors and has turned that love into a successful career as a gardener. He keeps a small garden at home, but also helps others to build gardens and teaches and advises them on the care and nurturing of the garden.
Kiara Sims loves her husband and family. She has never wanted to work outside the home. She spends her time making sure everyone is happy and is frugal enough that they always had enough to pay the bills even if they did not have much extra.
Nikita is the oldest brother. He is in the military career as a flight officer and his lifetime wish is to become an astronaut. He is married to Allyson, and they have one son Erik. Her lifetime wish is to raise five children. She is a homemaker. Erik just wants to learn to walk, talk and potty like his Dad. They are living at home to save enough for a down payment on a house.
Anton is the second son. He is a police officer on the local force and hopes to be accepted in the international division and travel the world as a top spy.
Zane is halfway through his teen years and has no idea what he wants in the future.
Alexandra spies Erik on his tractor and rushes over to pick him up. She cannot believe how much he has grown in the year she has been gone. She is happy that he seems to remember her and raises his arms to be picked up. She tosses him in the air and plays happily with him. He wants to ride the spring rider and she helps him with that. Allyson comes over and they sit on the bench nearby as Erik plays with his blocks. They talk about Jared, her career, weddings and wedding dresses and babies.
Kiara calls the family to dinner. She has made her salmon steaks on the grill and everyone enjoys the meal very much. Zane gets clean up duty, while Alexandra and Jared are asked to sit in the living room to chat with Kiara and Dimitri for a more formal get to know Jared session. Jared asks about the picture and fans on the wall behind the loveseat. Kiara explains they are memento's from Dimitri and her honeymoon in Egypt and China. This breaks the ice and they talk about travel and the recent trip Alexandra and Jared took to Champs La Sims for their careers.
Alexandra has told them a bit about Jared's family. Kiara is concerned about his relationship with his family and how that will affect him in the future. She is not one to shy from a subject that concerns her and she asks Jared about his family. He explains that they disowned him because of his career choice.
"I do not expect them to relent. That is not their way. Once they make their minds up there is no room for change. There was no love in the house to begin with so I am not missing that from them. Only duty and honor and obedience was accepted and admired. They have made no effort to contact me since I moved to Bridgeport. I sent my brother and the family lawyers contact information so they would know where I was in case they wanted to contact. My brothers came back marked return to sender. I was a changeling in the household and they did not understand me, nor did they want to. They tried to mold me into something I wasn't. They frowned on having fun, laughter was unknown and they tried to suppress that in me. It didn't work very well as I just went my own way. Somehow with my friends from school who had normal upbringings I managed to survive and thrive and realize that my family was actually the rarity and was not the normal for families. I don't miss them. I don't really know them well enough to miss them. I will always be here if they have a change of heart. I saw enough of my friends families to know what I want for my future and it is not how they tried to bring me up."
Kiara is saddened thinking about the little boy Jared was growing up in that family and is surprised he does seem well adjusted. She watches him with Alexandra and notices he can barely keep his eyes off her. He touches her shoulder or pats her leg or holds her hand as if needing that contact. She thinks back to the days when she and Dimitri were dating and realizes that is just the kind of thing that Dimitri did with her. She smiles at Jared feeling much more comfortable about Alexandra's choice, and changes the subject asking him about his career and what kind of scripts he would like to write and produce. She notices that Dimitri has reached over and is patting her hand softly. Some things never change. She smiles with satisfaction.
Dimitri prefers being outdoors rather than indoors so he invited Jared to talk outside. They talked on the porch for awhile and then walk in the yard to look at his garden. Jared admires the garden and turns to Mr. Sims. For the first time in his life Jared is nervous about talking with someone. He takes a deep breath to calm himself. "Mr. Sims, I love Alexandra with all my heart. I knew the first time I met her she was special. The more time we spent together the more I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. She loves you, her family, and I know she wants your blessing on our marriage. I know we just met today, but, I hope I can prove to you my love for her and that you will be able to give that blessing. I would like that blessing as well so I'm asking you for your daughters hand in marriage."
"I can see that she loves you and that you love her. I appreciate the gesture of your asking. I didn't realize young people would do that these days."
Jared smiles, "I guess proper protocol is one thing I did learn from my very proper, very formal parents."
"I will give my blessing since this is what my daughter wants. I want to know you better as her future husband and father of my grand babies. You do plan to have children?"
"We both want to have children. We have talked about it as Alexandra would like several and I agree with her. Thank you so much for your blessing."
"I would like you to keep in touch with us to get to know you better. Alexandra calls several times a week and I would like for you to do that as well. That way we can continue to get to know you and you us. What are your plans for the wedding?"
"Alexandra wanted to wait and make plans after this weekend. We have not set a date or made any plans yet. She is probably planning on talking with Mrs. Sims about it before we leave."
Jared had never been to Moonlight Falls and Alexandra takes him out for a bit to see a couple of her favorite places in town. They visit the arboretum and search for fairies, but they are elusive as usual. She then takes him to the 🐸🐸🐸🐸 camp and no one is there to tell fortunes. Luckily they both figure out another way to spend their time.
Zane was waiting for Jared when they arrived back home and wanted to see if Jared could show him some soccer moves. They practiced while Alexandra went in the house. Later, Kiara rocked Erik to sleep and then settled in the rocker outside of Alexandra's old room. If she was trying to keep Jared and Alexandra apart, it was too late, they were already snuggled together in her old room.
Alexandra woke early the next morning and fixed her newest specialty of French Toast. Jared sat and watched a cooking show with Anton. Anton gets a call to work an extra shift and leaves for the police station. The rest of the family enjoyed the breakfast prepared by Alexandra.
After breakfast Alexandra, Kiara and Allyson meet up in the master bedroom. Kiara takes her wedding gown out of the special case it has been saved in. "I've saved this since my wedding and was hopeful that one day my daughter would want to wear it. Alexandra tries it on and falls in love with the gown. "It is perfect Mom." Oh...did I forget to post a picture of the wedding gown. Nope, gotta wait to see it at the wedding.
The ladies of the house spend the day talking about the wedding and looking through wedding magazines that Allyson had saved from her own wedding planning days.
Dimitri invited Jared to the gym. Jared had offered to train him on the machines. They spent a few hours fishing at the falls after that. They talked about many things and one of those things was how much they enjoyed playing pool. Next stop the local pool hall. They played a few games. Dimitri won the tournament two out of three games. They had a few drinks outside at the fire pit and Dimitri continued to get to know Jared as he asked many questions. Jared realizing that Dimitri only asked because he loves his daughter answered the questions easily, honestly and without hesitation because he loves Alexandra and wants that blessing from her Dad to stay put.
The day passed and it was soon time for Alexandra and Jared to drive back to Bridgeport. As they drive back Jared asks Alexandra "I really enjoyed the visit with your family. They are all so terrific, accepting and very happy people. How do you think things went?" Alexandra smiles at him and pats his leg as he drives, "I know they liked you. Mom mentioned that she likes the way you look after me. After the day you spent with my Dad if he had been worried he would have pulled me aside and talked to me before we left."
Back in Moonlight Falls, Dimitri and Kiara sit on the porch and talk. "Alexandra is so very happy with Jared and excited about their future together. How did things go today with you and Jared?"
"I think he is a good man, he is ambitious with his career, patient and tolerant of the interruptions from being a celebrity. He enjoyed fishing and knew enough not to talk constantly and loud while fishing. He loves our daughter. He smiles more when talking about her and their life together. He has a sad look when talking about his family, but, he doesn't dwell over it and amazingly he doesn't hate them. I think if they called, he'd go visit tomorrow. He has a very forgiving nature and that is Alexandra to a T. I think they suit each other perfectly."
Jared kept his promise to call and talk to Dimitri. He found himself looking forward to the calls and hearing Dimitri's opinions and chatting about life in Moonlight Falls. Sometimes Kiara would get on the line and chat as well. He really enjoys getting to know Alexandra's parents better and found himself at times saddened thinking about his own family. He tried to shake that off quickly as he is aware it will not change and no reason to dwell on those thoughts when it would not help matters.
He told Dimitri he was learning to cook and was making dinner for Alexandra tonight. She was working overtime filming on her current show tonight. He told Dimitri goodnight and went back inside to finish the meal.
Alexandra arrives home as he finishes cooking. He welcomes her with a loving embrace and kiss, and proudly shows off his first real meal. She compliments him on the great meal and they talk about the wedding while they ate. They are still trying to decide just where the wedding will take place. Both want friends and family present, but, Bridgeport would be such a hassle with the paparazzi milling around and they do not want the circus atmosphere that will prevail. The same would be true if they got married in Moonlight Falls and keeping things private might be more difficult there.
While Jared cleans up the kitchen Alexandra takes a relaxing soak in the garden tub enjoying the bubbles and scent from the candles in the room. Jared joins her as she relaxes on the bed and they decide further discussion of the wedding would take place later.
After eating crepes for breakfast the dishwasher breaks. Jared cleans up some failed drinks from his last mixology attempt and the breakfast dishes while Alexandra repairs the dishwasher. He mops up the mess on the floor while she finishes up the repair. They continue to discover more about each other as they go about their daily lives. Mundane chores are so much faster, and easier to do, when doing them with the one you love.
Jared puts the finishing touches on his screenplay while Alexandra practices her yoga poses. Jared completes his screenplay and it is accepted by the studio heads who feel it has the potential for being next years blockbuster movie. He gets a lovely bonus that will help with wedding plans and house renovations. He retains an interest in the screenplay and hopes to make a lovely profit after it is produced. Jared has been promoted and now has a new outfit from the studio that suits his new title of Assistant Director. Alexandra has also been promoted and has her new outfit. She must be playing a rocker chick! Good thing she has almost mastered her guitar skills.
Speaking of guitar skills. Jared has been practicing his guitar skills as well as his singing and serenades Alexandra one evening after work. Alexandra shows him her appreciation for such a romantic song.
They both continue to do their share of celebrity opportunities to promote themselves and the studio. They both enjoy dancing and will usually go together for those opportunities. Jared has learned several new recipes for drinks while visiting the various clubs in town.
It is not all bright lights and night life for them though. They both prefer being home and having fun with friends or each other. They usually do the celebrity outings once or twice a week and stay home the other evenings or have a date night. Sometimes they enjoy getting into the car and heading out of the city to the countryside for an evening drive.
Jared reached his career goal at the studio as a Distinguished Director. His outfit didn't change from the one he wore as Assistant Director. As a reward he got a Directors Seat of Power which is still in the family inventory. He was nominated for another Sim Choice Award.
Alexandra is now a leading lady and her outfit remains the same. The studio provides a limo to drive her the one block from her home to the studio. She is nominated for a SimChoice award as well.
Alexandra and Jared are dropped off close to the theater for the awards ceremony. They enjoy a quick embrace for luck before before the paparazzi find them. They quickly go into the theater as the paparazzi have not arrived yet. The ceremony is long with speeches and testimonials and artists singing to entertain them.
Two new Sim Choice awards are placed on the shelf in the living room. Jared won for best director and Alexandra for new artist. Alexandra puts her feet up and relaxes as she and Jared talk about the award ceremony and new projects. She and Jared both agree that their wedding has the highest priority now.
The next morning, Alexandra and Jared get calls from her parents congratulating them on the awards. "It was so exciting seeing our daughter and her fiance on the television!," exclaims Kiara. They talk about the glamorous gowns and gossip about the other stars for a few moments.
Always direct and to the point, Dimitri asks, "So, when is the wedding going to be?
Jared replies "very soon, that is our priority to plan the wedding. I'm not taking any new film projects and Alexandra is limiting her role to her current show until after the wedding. She has already scheduled the time off and just a hint, her character will be lost at sea for a few weeks. We are getting out of the house this afternoon and relaxing and will firm up all the details and call you tomorrow."
They say goodbye and Jared and Alexandra finish up their chores and errands and prepare to leave the house for a few hours.
Their favorite picnic spot is a glade in the middle of a wooded area where they can be away from all paparazzi and enjoy privacy. They sit down and enjoy talking and planning and spread out the picnic so they can snack as they talk. They talk about the music they would like, who to invite, what decorations and flowers to have. They make lots of decisions including a couple of tentative dates to confirm once they talk to her parents and confirm a venue.
It all comes down to one final detail, where are they going to have the wedding. "We can always have a private wedding right here in the glade, just you, and me and no muss, no fuss." Alexandra looks solemn and worried.
Jared picks her up and sits her in front of him, holds her and looks her in they eyes. "I'd do that in a heartbeat if I thought you really wanted that. I know you, my love. I know you want the dress and the flowers, and your Dad giving you away, and your Mama crying and your brothers teasing you and me, and I want you to have that. Let me tell you about a dream I had just last night. You walking down the aisle towards me which I am so looking forward to seeing. We were in the chapel we explored in Champs Les Sims. What do you think of that idea? You know I got that big bonus with my promotion and my share of the profits from the last two movies was staggering. We can afford to send your family and anyone else we want to France for the wedding. Your Mom said she always missed that they had not been able to go to Champs Les Sims on their honeymoon as well as Al Simhara and Shang Simla."
Alexandra jumps up and dances around the glade, jumps up in Jared's arms, hugs him tightly. "I take it that you like the idea?" he laughs.
"Absolutely love the idea. You are brilliant. Mama will love it too!" She kisses him and hugs him again. "But, she will worry about the expense. Do you realize we have finally planned the wedding! Now we just have to get everyone organized for the trip and firm the date with the chapel and family, send out invitations."
They pack up the basket and Jared picks it up and they stroll back to the house so they can call the parents and get the last details settled for the wedding.

Traveling
Jared and Alexandra both have opportunities that take them traveling from Bridgeport to Champs Les Sims. Alexandra has never traveled outside of moving to Bridgeport and is excited about the trip. Jared traveled a few times with his parents, but, since he was confined to his quarters in the vacation home they may as well have left him at home. He is happy to be going with Alexandra and looks forward to exploring after they complete their tasks. Alexandra has been asked to collect recipes and provide some authentic meals when she returns. They both asked for a short leave from the studio and Jared was asked to scout locations while they traveled within the country.
Jared spoke with his contact and gathered the information necessary that will complete his opportunity when he returns home.
Alexandra purchased the recipes and a few local books. She decided to learn the recipes right away, and gave Jared one of the new mystery novels that she knew he would enjoy reading.
They finish reading their books and decide to go visit the nectary. The other tourists staying at the hostel have raved about the nectar and that it is a must visit spot. Jared browses the racks of nectar while Alexandra introduces herself to the merchant. The merchant gives them a sampling of some of her nectar and they sit at a small table in the back while they sample the nectar. They get a bit frisky after drinking the nectar and enjoy a few stolen kisses in the processing room.
They follow another couple down the nearby steps and find another tasting area. Jared picks out a new bottle and they enjoy the flavor of the fruits in this nectar. He keeps looking at one of the walls and decides something is fishy about that wall. He knocks on the wall and discovers it sounds hollow. He pokes and prods until he hears a snap and the wall slowly opens. He has discovered a hidden room and he grabs Alexandra's hand and they explore the room. There are several nectar racks with some aged bottles of nectar as well as a treasure chest filled with funny coins in the room. No one else seems to be interested in the hidden room. They both think that is strange.
They leave the hidden room and shut the door behind them. Alexandra is hungry and they decide to go to the cafe for dinner. They both order the bouillabaisse and enjoy it very much. Alexandra stops and plays with a butterfly on the way to the general store. Jared watches her as she plays with it and then lets it fly off. Jared wants to start exploring tomorrow and wants to get a few supplies in case they don't make it back to the hostel. Alexandra looks at the small pup tent. "No, not sleeping in that. I want big and comfy if we are sleeping outdoors." Jared thinks it looks pretty cozy, but, probably not very comfortable. He finds the larger ones in the back of the store. They make their purchases and talk with a few of the locals about where to go.
By the time they get back to the hostel it is dark. They sit outside and look at the stars and cuddle together before heading into bed.

Part 2
The next morning Jared and Alexandra showered and got ready for the day. They decide to be frugal and save on water by showering together. Alexandra made some sticky buns for breakfast and they both thought she did a pretty good job considering she rarely cooks. She has learned a lot of recipes from reading, but, would rather read than cook. (This particular trait is exactly like me)
Jared's mind is on something other than exploring the countryside, so they go back upstairs to the room for a bit. After some loving, Jared pours some of the aged nectar they found yesterday, and they enjoy a glass or three. It is now lunch time and we see Alexandra cooking again! She had the wish to cook Jared's favorite meal. (creator cannot deny her that chance) Jared reads a bit more of the mystery novel while she is cooking. Jared thinks he could turn the novel 'The Shadow of the Tower' into an awesome movie. After they finish their meal they are finally ready to do some exploration.
The first stop is in the distant countryside. They are exploring a valley, climbing a small hill and at the top they are awed at the beauty of the world before them. They hear the distant rumble of a train and suddenly a train appears from the tunnel. Jared whips out his camera and takes a close up shot before the train disappears into another tunnel.
They continue wandering and arrive at a small home with a beautiful garden. The owner, Jean Luc Pivert, is in the garden and invites them into his home. They talk with him and both quickly realize the man is not completely sane, but seems harmless at the moment. He has a marvelous green thumb and they compliment him on the garden as well as his home. Alexandra asks about the fruit plants in his garden and he invites them to harvest the crop. He tells them about the Pomelo, Pomegranate and Plum trees that he has planted. The fruit is sweet and tasty and makes marvelous nectar he reports. Alexandra thinks her Dad would enjoy planting a few of the seeds so she plans to send a few to him.
They move on and spot an ancient burial mound with many gravestones among the standing stones. One stone has some ancient writing on it and they both wonder what it says. Jared takes a few pictures of the area to show his boss at the studio.
It is getting late and the map shows a campground nearby so they head in that direction. Jared lights the fire pit to get some warmth and light the area to keep any wild animals away. They both eat a piece of the fruit to tide them over for the night. The sit and enjoy the warmth and light from the fire and chat as they watch the stars move in the sky. They head into the tent, but, not to sleep. Jared forgot to set the anchors of the tent into the ground.

Part 3
Jared and Alexandra awaken in very good moods despite finding two paparazzi arguing outside their tent when they got up. They quickly and silently packed the tent while the women were busy yelling at each other and left the campgrounds. They had found a flyer advertising a new park built in the outskirts of Champs Les Sims and they decided to go check it out. They arrive at the entrance of Venetian Gardens.
Jared thinks it looks like a beautiful place. "I can't wait to see it at night and watch the stars with you."
Alexandra loves that Jared has such a romantic soul. "I look forward to snuggling under the stars with you."
They cross over one of the bridges and enjoy the beauty of the Chapel in front of them. They go inside and realize it has been set up for a wedding. The go down the stairs and peek into the catacombs, but neither want to do any exploring down there. The upper floors are still under renovation and not open to the public yet.
They wander in the gardens and find a photobooth behind the chapel. Both want a memento of their visit so they go inside of the booth and take some fun romantic pictures. No...they were not naughty!
Crossing another bridge they find an archery range and practice shooting at the targets for awhile.
They both need to find the facilities and after asking a guide Alexandra enters through the fortune teller shop and Jared climbs up a flight of steps. They both end up in the same place. They enjoy a small snack until the paparazzi show up.
Jared and Alexandra go back across the bridge to get away from the paparazzi and find a gondolier who offers to take them on a ride around the gardens. Jared and Alexandra climb into the little gondola and enjoy the ride through the winding canals of the garden. They take advantage of the tunnel of love and pull a blanket over themselves for privacy. They exit the tunnel and Jared points to a stage and thinks that Melee and Brian need to visit with them the next time and see if Melee can perform here.
(for some reason Alexandra's hair and face glitches out in certain parts of the gondola ride, so forgive the strange picture, but I wanted a pic of the tunnel of love as they went through it)
They walk across the bridge to a little garden and well. Jared smiles at Alexandra enjoying how the moonlight shines in her eyes. Her kisses her softly and they relax on the grass and watch the stars in the skies. They have enjoyed their day at the gardens and still not seen it all. They hope when they return the renovations in the inn and the bistro will be complete.

Jared has heard the bistro is open at last. He tells Alexandra to change into one of her fancy outfits as they are going to check it out. They decide it is such a beautiful evening they will eat outside. They order one of the specialties of the chef's and a cherry cobbler dessert made with local grown cherries. They chat about how much they have enjoyed the visit to Champs Les Sims and that they want to come back and visit again.
After dinner they stroll down the walkways and stop at the wishing well. Jared looks at Alexandra and she is so beautiful in the setting sun. He takes her in his arms and kisses her. He hands her a bouquet of flowers he had hidden nearby. Alexandra admires the beautiful red roses, a symbol of eternal love. She starts to thank Jared with a kiss and he stops her. "Wait just a moment. I have one more surprise for you. I hope you like it."
He drops down on one knee and reaches into his pocket and removes a small box. Alexandra's heart starts racing, not sure if she believes what she is seeing. He opens the box and a dazzling ring is inside.
"Alexandra, since you have come into my life I feel complete. My heart is full of love and I hope for a future with you. I cannot imagine my life without you in it. I love you. Will you please marry me?"
"Yes, yes, yes! I will marry you." A few happy tears fall as Jared slips the ring on her finger. A perfect fit. Alexandra hugs Jared to her as she tells him "I love you. I'm so happy. " She leaps into his arms and he holds her close.
The sun goes down as they celebrate their engagement, holding each other, kissing and whispering endearments. The only sound is from the waters of the well and a few night crickets. It is getting late and they stand and stretch after sitting on the ground. Alexandra looks at the well.
"Do you want to make a wish?" she asks Jared.
He shakes his head looking at her,"No, I've got everything I could possibly want right here."

Life Changes
Jared and Alexandra are getting ready for their trip back home. They take one last visit to the market walking hand in hand and browsing in the shops. They wait for their taxi to the airport and both are thinking about marriage and weddings. Jared is all for getting married right away, no muss, no fuss. Just the two of them and a minister. He is trying to be understanding that her family would be hurt by that since his family wouldn't care, and he does not plan to invite them. He kisses her and tells her "I love you so much. I'd marry you barefoot in a field if that is what you want." They talk about making a visit to her home when they can take some time off work again so he can meet her family and start plans.
They arrive back in Bridgeport late at night. Jared pulls her close and kisses her. "Welcome back home soon to be Mrs. Padelecki. They might be tired, but the kisses ignite another desire and they hurry upstairs and scoot under the covers.
Melee is up early and fixes french toast for breakfast. She calls everyone to eat together. They chat about their trip and how fantastic Champs Les Sims was to visit. Jared asks Melee and Brian to come to the living room to chat after breakfast.
Jared and Alexandra take some time for morning kisses on the way to chat in the living room. Everyone is seated and Jared explains. "I asked Alexandra to marry me and she accepted." Alexandra shows off her ring. "Congratulations!!" "That is fantastic." Melee and Brian are up on their feet giving hugs and high fives (I know it looks like Brian is getting ready to slug Jared, awkward timing) as they congratulate the newly engaged couple.
Brian looks at Melee and she nods at him. "We have an announcement also. Melee has been offered an opportunity to perform at larger venues in Starlight Shores to further her career. I'm going with her. I will be transferring to the studio out there. The plane leaves tonight." Jared and Alexandra are both a bit stunned by the announcement, but, they are happy for both of them and that they will be together. "We can visit on vacations. You have to come to our wedding though." Alexandra tells them both.
"We wouldn't miss it." Melee promises.
They four spend the day enjoying time together in various fun activities in Bridgeport. They have become close friends during the last year they have roomed together and played and worked together. Alexandra and Jared will miss them very much and are sad to see them go. Lives change and they must accept the changes and move on. They watch the sunset outside at the Bistro after enjoying a meal there. They head back home to say goodbye.
A limo is sent to take Brian and Melee to the airport. Alexandra and Jared watch from the window as it drives down the street.
They hold each other close and go out to the hot tub to relax and soak and enjoy being together and think about how life changes.

Discoveries
The house seemed quieter after Melee and Brian left. Melee was always playing an instrument and Brian usually had dance music on and was bopping to the beat. Jared and Alexandra settled in, getting used to being together and enjoying discovering more about each other. Jared discovered that Alexandra can get lost in time while reading books. Alexandra watched as Jared discovered the simple pleasures of cooking on a grill. He didn't even burn his first attempts.
They both continued to work on their skills and advance in their careers. Jared mastered his athletic skill and discovered that Alexandra gave awesome massages when his muscles were aching. Alexandra mastered cooking. She learned to make crepes while in France and fixed perfect ones to enjoy at breakfast. After the renovations in the kitchen were complete Alexandra discovered she enjoyed cooking and experimenting with new dishes. Jared was learning to prepare new foods as well, but, really enjoyed discovering the mixology skill.
After work they enjoy going out and relaxing at the karaoke bar, eating out, playing pool or dancing at one of the local clubs, or staying home and smooching in the hot tub.

Promotions and plans
Alexandra made her weekly call to her parents. She had previously told them about her engagement to Jared while still in France. Both expressed some caution to her as they had not met Jared yet. They knew about her relationship with Jared as Alexandra had not tried to hide anything from them. She had a good relationship with her Mom and had probably shared more than her Mom wanted to know. Her Mom had talked with Jared on the phone a few times when he answered the phone when Alexandra was not home. She thought he was polite and nice on the phone, but, nothing beats a face to face meeting.
After she completes her phone call, Alexandra practices the piano while waiting for Jared to finish working on a script. They have tickets for the game at the stadium and both enjoy watching their team win. Alexandra fixes spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner, which is one of her favorites.
They are off to work the next afternoon. Jared is now the second unit director and gets a new outfit to wear to work. He is only working 4 days a week now, but some of those days require several hours of overtime.
Alexandra is now the Production Manager. Her new work outfit was hideous and Alexandra spent some time in the wardrobe room to find something more to her liking. With her next promotion she will be able to start working as an actress.
The weather is very pretty and the bougainvillea is in bloom. They enjoy cuddling on the front porch until the paparazzi spy them. With looks of frustration they go back inside. Alexandra vows to plant some bougainvillea and ivy out back where the paparazzi cannot get to because of the fencing.
These two lovely ladies start a fight outside the diner. The one goes into labor and gives birth to a little boy. I forgot who the Dad is. She's been married to just about half the men in Bridgeport and I can't keep track of them.
Jared is promoted to script writer and his outfit remains the same. Alexandra is promoted and hired to star in a tv show. Her role as a maid might be small but she steals the limelight from the star of the show and the script writers including Jared change the script to broaden her role.
Jared has a celebrity appearance to make and wants Alexandra to go with him. (dag he is so gorgeous) The appearance is at the Prosper lounge and they enjoy the drink, but, not the atmosphere of the lounge. It is a bit of a stuffy place. They leave as soon as Jared has completed the appearance and find their way to Waylon's Haunt one of their favorite places.
Alexandra calls her Mom and tells her they both have a three day weekend coming up and she would like to bring Jared out to meet the family. Her Mom is very excited and tells her yes, of course, come right away. They pack a bag and decide to take the car rather than fly.

Meet the Family
Alexandra and Jared arrive at her childhood home. Her parents are in the front yard as well as her older brother Nikita and his wife Allyson. Her father, Dimitri, calls Jared over as Alexandra gets hugged by her Mom, Kiara. Alexandra walks with her Mom over to say hi to her Dad and introduce Jared to her Mom.
Jared is getting the full treatment by meeting the entire family at once. He is very outgoing so he is not nervous. He loves meeting new people and he knows that he will love her family as he has heard so much about them from Alexandra. He meets her brothers Nikita and Anton, and Nikita's wife Allyson. Zane arrives last and greets Jared with a challenge to play a game. They go to the far corner of the yard and Zane tosses the Frisbee to him with a twist expecting him to fail to catch it. Jared is an old hand at Frisbee though having played many a game when he was at school and with Brian, and surprises Zane with his acrobatic twists and turns when throwing the disc.
Dimitri Sims loves being outdoors and has turned that love into a successful career as a gardener. He keeps a small garden at home, but also helps others to build gardens and teaches and advises them on the care and nurturing of the garden.
Kiara Sims loves her husband and family. She has never wanted to work outside the home. She spends her time making sure everyone is happy and is frugal enough that they always had enough to pay the bills even if they did not have much extra.
Nikita is the oldest brother. He is in the military career as a flight officer and his lifetime wish is to become an astronaut. He is married to Allyson, and they have one son Erik. Her lifetime wish is to raise five children. She is a homemaker. Erik just wants to learn to walk, talk and potty like his Dad. They are living at home to save enough for a down payment on a house.
Anton is the second son. He is a police officer on the local force and hopes to be accepted in the international division and travel the world as a top spy.
Zane is halfway through his teen years and has no idea what he wants in the future.
Alexandra spies Erik on his tractor and rushes over to pick him up. She cannot believe how much he has grown in the year she has been gone. She is happy that he seems to remember her and raises his arms to be picked up. She tosses him in the air and plays happily with him. He wants to ride the spring rider and she helps him with that. Allyson comes over and they sit on the bench nearby as Erik plays with his blocks. They talk about Jared, her career, weddings and wedding dresses and babies.
Kiara calls the family to dinner. She has made her salmon steaks on the grill and everyone enjoys the meal very much. Zane gets clean up duty, while Alexandra and Jared are asked to sit in the living room to chat with Kiara and Dimitri for a more formal get to know Jared session. Jared asks about the picture and fans on the wall behind the loveseat. Kiara explains they are memento's from Dimitri and her honeymoon in Egypt and China. This breaks the ice and they talk about travel and the recent trip Alexandra and Jared took to Champs La Sims for their careers.
Alexandra has told them a bit about Jared's family. Kiara is concerned about his relationship with his family and how that will affect him in the future. She is not one to shy from a subject that concerns her and she asks Jared about his family. He explains that they disowned him because of his career choice.
"I do not expect them to relent. That is not their way. Once they make their minds up there is no room for change. There was no love in the house to begin with so I am not missing that from them. Only duty and honor and obedience was accepted and admired. They have made no effort to contact me since I moved to Bridgeport. I sent my brother and the family lawyers contact information so they would know where I was in case they wanted to contact. My brothers came back marked return to sender. I was a changeling in the household and they did not understand me, nor did they want to. They tried to mold me into something I wasn't. They frowned on having fun, laughter was unknown and they tried to suppress that in me. It didn't work very well as I just went my own way. Somehow with my friends from school who had normal upbringings I managed to survive and thrive and realize that my family was actually the rarity and was not the normal for families. I don't miss them. I don't really know them well enough to miss them. I will always be here if they have a change of heart. I saw enough of my friends families to know what I want for my future and it is not how they tried to bring me up."
Kiara is saddened thinking about the little boy Jared was growing up in that family and is surprised he does seem well adjusted. She watches him with Alexandra and notices he can barely keep his eyes off her. He touches her shoulder or pats her leg or holds her hand as if needing that contact. She thinks back to the days when she and Dimitri were dating and realizes that is just the kind of thing that Dimitri did with her. She smiles at Jared feeling much more comfortable about Alexandra's choice, and changes the subject asking him about his career and what kind of scripts he would like to write and produce. She notices that Dimitri has reached over and is patting her hand softly. Some things never change. She smiles with satisfaction.

Blessings
Dimitri prefers being outdoors rather than indoors so he invited Jared to talk outside. They talked on the porch for awhile and then walk in the yard to look at his garden. Jared admires the garden and turns to Mr. Sims. For the first time in his life Jared is nervous about talking with someone. He takes a deep breath to calm himself. "Mr. Sims, I love Alexandra with all my heart. I knew the first time I met her she was special. The more time we spent together the more I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. She loves you, her family, and I know she wants your blessing on our marriage. I know we just met today, but, I hope I can prove to you my love for her and that you will be able to give that blessing. I would like that blessing as well so I'm asking you for your daughters hand in marriage."
"I can see that she loves you and that you love her. I appreciate the gesture of your asking. I didn't realize young people would do that these days."
Jared smiles, "I guess proper protocol is one thing I did learn from my very proper, very formal parents."
"I will give my blessing since this is what my daughter wants. I want to know you better as her future husband and father of my grand babies. You do plan to have children?"
"We both want to have children. We have talked about it as Alexandra would like several and I agree with her. Thank you so much for your blessing."
"I would like you to keep in touch with us to get to know you better. Alexandra calls several times a week and I would like for you to do that as well. That way we can continue to get to know you and you us. What are your plans for the wedding?"
"Alexandra wanted to wait and make plans after this weekend. We have not set a date or made any plans yet. She is probably planning on talking with Mrs. Sims about it before we leave."
Jared had never been to Moonlight Falls and Alexandra takes him out for a bit to see a couple of her favorite places in town. They visit the arboretum and search for fairies, but they are elusive as usual. She then takes him to the 🐸🐸🐸🐸 camp and no one is there to tell fortunes. Luckily they both figure out another way to spend their time.
Zane was waiting for Jared when they arrived back home and wanted to see if Jared could show him some soccer moves. They practiced while Alexandra went in the house. Later, Kiara rocked Erik to sleep and then settled in the rocker outside of Alexandra's old room. If she was trying to keep Jared and Alexandra apart, it was too late, they were already snuggled together in her old room.

Hopes and plans
Alexandra woke early the next morning and fixed her newest specialty of French Toast. Jared sat and watched a cooking show with Anton. Anton gets a call to work an extra shift and leaves for the police station. The rest of the family enjoyed the breakfast prepared by Alexandra.
After breakfast Alexandra, Kiara and Allyson meet up in the master bedroom. Kiara takes her wedding gown out of the special case it has been saved in. "I've saved this since my wedding and was hopeful that one day my daughter would want to wear it. Alexandra tries it on and falls in love with the gown. "It is perfect Mom."
Oh...did I forget to post a picture of the wedding gown. Nope, gotta wait to see it at the wedding.
The ladies of the house spend the day talking about the wedding and looking through wedding magazines that Allyson had saved from her own wedding planning days.
Dimitri invited Jared to the gym. Jared had offered to train him on the machines. They spent a few hours fishing at the falls after that. They talked about many things and one of those things was how much they enjoyed playing pool. Next stop the local pool hall. They played a few games. Dimitri won the tournament two out of three games. They had a few drinks outside at the fire pit and Dimitri continued to get to know Jared as he asked many questions. Jared realizing that Dimitri only asked because he loves his daughter answered the questions easily, honestly and without hesitation because he loves Alexandra and wants that blessing from her Dad to stay put.
The day passed and it was soon time for Alexandra and Jared to drive back to Bridgeport. As they drive back Jared asks Alexandra "I really enjoyed the visit with your family. They are all so terrific, accepting and very happy people. How do you think things went?" Alexandra smiles at him and pats his leg as he drives, "I know they liked you. Mom mentioned that she likes the way you look after me. After the day you spent with my Dad if he had been worried he would have pulled me aside and talked to me before we left."
Back in Moonlight Falls, Dimitri and Kiara sit on the porch and talk. "Alexandra is so very happy with Jared and excited about their future together. How did things go today with you and Jared?"
"I think he is a good man, he is ambitious with his career, patient and tolerant of the interruptions from being a celebrity. He enjoyed fishing and knew enough not to talk constantly and loud while fishing. He loves our daughter. He smiles more when talking about her and their life together. He has a sad look when talking about his family, but, he doesn't dwell over it and amazingly he doesn't hate them. I think if they called, he'd go visit tomorrow. He has a very forgiving nature and that is Alexandra to a T. I think they suit each other perfectly."

Jared kept his promise to call and talk to Dimitri. He found himself looking forward to the calls and hearing Dimitri's opinions and chatting about life in Moonlight Falls. Sometimes Kiara would get on the line and chat as well. He really enjoys getting to know Alexandra's parents better and found himself at times saddened thinking about his own family. He tried to shake that off quickly as he is aware it will not change and no reason to dwell on those thoughts when it would not help matters.
He told Dimitri he was learning to cook and was making dinner for Alexandra tonight. She was working overtime filming on her current show tonight. He told Dimitri goodnight and went back inside to finish the meal.
Alexandra arrives home as he finishes cooking. He welcomes her with a loving embrace and kiss, and proudly shows off his first real meal. She compliments him on the great meal and they talk about the wedding while they ate. They are still trying to decide just where the wedding will take place. Both want friends and family present, but, Bridgeport would be such a hassle with the paparazzi milling around and they do not want the circus atmosphere that will prevail. The same would be true if they got married in Moonlight Falls and keeping things private might be more difficult there.
While Jared cleans up the kitchen Alexandra takes a relaxing soak in the garden tub enjoying the bubbles and scent from the candles in the room. Jared joins her as she relaxes on the bed and they decide further discussion of the wedding would take place later.
After eating crepes for breakfast the dishwasher breaks. Jared cleans up some failed drinks from his last mixology attempt and the breakfast dishes while Alexandra repairs the dishwasher. He mops up the mess on the floor while she finishes up the repair. They continue to discover more about each other as they go about their daily lives. Mundane chores are so much faster, and easier to do, when doing them with the one you love.
Jared puts the finishing touches on his screenplay while Alexandra practices her yoga poses. Jared completes his screenplay and it is accepted by the studio heads who feel it has the potential for being next years blockbuster movie. He gets a lovely bonus that will help with wedding plans and house renovations. He retains an interest in the screenplay and hopes to make a lovely profit after it is produced. Jared has been promoted and now has a new outfit from the studio that suits his new title of Assistant Director. Alexandra has also been promoted and has her new outfit. She must be playing a rocker chick! Good thing she has almost mastered her guitar skills.
Speaking of guitar skills. Jared has been practicing his guitar skills as well as his singing and serenades Alexandra one evening after work. Alexandra shows him her appreciation for such a romantic song.
They both continue to do their share of celebrity opportunities to promote themselves and the studio. They both enjoy dancing and will usually go together for those opportunities. Jared has learned several new recipes for drinks while visiting the various clubs in town.
It is not all bright lights and night life for them though. They both prefer being home and having fun with friends or each other. They usually do the celebrity outings once or twice a week and stay home the other evenings or have a date night. Sometimes they enjoy getting into the car and heading out of the city to the countryside for an evening drive.

Promotions and Plans
Jared reached his career goal at the studio as a Distinguished Director. His outfit didn't change from the one he wore as Assistant Director. As a reward he got a Directors Seat of Power which is still in the family inventory. He was nominated for another Sim Choice Award.
Alexandra is now a leading lady and her outfit remains the same. The studio provides a limo to drive her the one block from her home to the studio. She is nominated for a SimChoice award as well.
Alexandra and Jared are dropped off close to the theater for the awards ceremony. They enjoy a quick embrace for luck before before the paparazzi find them. They quickly go into the theater as the paparazzi have not arrived yet. The ceremony is long with speeches and testimonials and artists singing to entertain them.
Two new Sim Choice awards are placed on the shelf in the living room. Jared won for best director and Alexandra for new artist. Alexandra puts her feet up and relaxes as she and Jared talk about the award ceremony and new projects. She and Jared both agree that their wedding has the highest priority now.
The next morning, Alexandra and Jared get calls from her parents congratulating them on the awards. "It was so exciting seeing our daughter and her fiance on the television!," exclaims Kiara. They talk about the glamorous gowns and gossip about the other stars for a few moments.
Always direct and to the point, Dimitri asks, "So, when is the wedding going to be?
Jared replies "very soon, that is our priority to plan the wedding. I'm not taking any new film projects and Alexandra is limiting her role to her current show until after the wedding. She has already scheduled the time off and just a hint, her character will be lost at sea for a few weeks. We are getting out of the house this afternoon and relaxing and will firm up all the details and call you tomorrow."
They say goodbye and Jared and Alexandra finish up their chores and errands and prepare to leave the house for a few hours.
Their favorite picnic spot is a glade in the middle of a wooded area where they can be away from all paparazzi and enjoy privacy. They sit down and enjoy talking and planning and spread out the picnic so they can snack as they talk. They talk about the music they would like, who to invite, what decorations and flowers to have. They make lots of decisions including a couple of tentative dates to confirm once they talk to her parents and confirm a venue.
It all comes down to one final detail, where are they going to have the wedding. "We can always have a private wedding right here in the glade, just you, and me and no muss, no fuss." Alexandra looks solemn and worried.
Jared picks her up and sits her in front of him, holds her and looks her in they eyes. "I'd do that in a heartbeat if I thought you really wanted that. I know you, my love. I know you want the dress and the flowers, and your Dad giving you away, and your Mama crying and your brothers teasing you and me, and I want you to have that. Let me tell you about a dream I had just last night. You walking down the aisle towards me which I am so looking forward to seeing. We were in the chapel we explored in Champs Les Sims. What do you think of that idea? You know I got that big bonus with my promotion and my share of the profits from the last two movies was staggering. We can afford to send your family and anyone else we want to France for the wedding. Your Mom said she always missed that they had not been able to go to Champs Les Sims on their honeymoon as well as Al Simhara and Shang Simla."
Alexandra jumps up and dances around the glade, jumps up in Jared's arms, hugs him tightly. "I take it that you like the idea?" he laughs.
"Absolutely love the idea. You are brilliant. Mama will love it too!" She kisses him and hugs him again. "But, she will worry about the expense. Do you realize we have finally planned the wedding! Now we just have to get everyone organized for the trip and firm the date with the chapel and family, send out invitations."
They pack up the basket and Jared picks it up and they stroll back to the house so they can call the parents and get the last details settled for the wedding.
