Hi, I'm creating a thread because I do have a question about what might be a bug. It is something that I noticed prior to C&D so it isn't caused by it. I've searched relevant topics and I have found a few people describing the same thing but it wasn't clear that they had found the answer.
I'm playing a rotation with various households. I've noticed that when several of my sims have married townies (so the townies joined their households and became playable) that there are several who never change their clothes even to shower and who never age. I've looked up this topic and I have seen a few older subjects referencing "immortal sims" and that may be what these are.
I found the information about removing the CL traits like IsWeirdo, IsCityRepair and IsStatueBusker; that worked for one of them. I was able to remove the trait and now she is normal. I've had at least 3 non-aging townies as playables so far, maybe more if I look through more of my rotation.
I've been playing another sim who was a restaurant host (so, a Dine Out restaurant host). I tried removing the CL traits and it has not worked at all. She showers and baths in clothes like a "never nude" and she does not age. Yes, I'm sure I can age her manually when the time comes in CAS but when she's an elder, I don't think she'll be able to die of old age. What I've read from other threads about this problem seems to indicate that she might not be able to die except by being deleted. There's at least one other sim like her whom I haven't attempted to remove CL traits from, who was just a random townie. That one also showers in clothes and will sleep in the same clothes. Neither of them would ever change an outfit if I didn't do it manually.
The other sims in their households are fine. The pre-mades and sims I've made in CAS or the born-in-game sims are all fine. It's the townies who married into households who are having this issue. I'm not even sure that it is all townies. I don't think so but I'd have to check because other townies have definitely married into my game and I don't remember noticing it.
I don't mod my game and I've never had any CC. I know there is a mod for hidden info about sims which I would be tempted by, except that I've never tried modding my game at all so I'm not really familiar or comfortable with "pulling out files and folders" because I've never played that way. I also know that someone who had a similar problem to this used that mod and said that their sim had a hidden non-aging script and they didn't know how to fix it. It seems like the only other fix I saw was copying the sim to the library and then re-adding them into the household, deleting the original sim in the process.
I've started this thread to see if anyone else has had this problem or if they have any other suggestions.
I know that the one sim who hasn't responded to the CL traits was a restaurant host at Chez Llama which for me is in Magnolia Springs. I have no idea about the other sim (married to Wolfgang Munch) because she was totally random. I haven't tried removing traits from that one yet though. I think my game might be generating a certain amount of townies like this (non-aging, never nude, never autonomously changing clothes).
When the Chez Llama host (now married to Joaquin Le Chien) had a baby in the game recently, I sent her and Joaquin to the hospital. The female former townie was still wearing her regular clothes, not a hospital gown. When the baby was born, it didn't appear in the hospital bassinet. (It did appear at home when they got home and is a normal baby). When the baby was born though, Joaquin Le Chien walked over to a hospital bed and changed into a wedding tuxedo. They came home from the hospital and he's fine. That made me think that the townie is buggy which is why I'm reporting it for more information and to see if there is a fix that I haven't thought of.
My game is generally running well and I don't have many bugs other than common ones that get mentioned a lot like sims occasionally dropping instructions from their queue or other pack-specific common complaints. This is one that has me a little stumped though. If I have to, I'll go through the process of copying and deleting the offending townies but I wanted to see if there's anything I'm missing first.
Feel free to post if you've noticed this in your game at all as well. Thanks in advance!
Champ and Girlie are dogs.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
The mod that you were referring to is Show/search info mod. This mod will show the hidden traits of the sims. There are instructions on the site how to use the mod, Using this mod may help you find any hidden traits of the sims

'The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection' , 'The Sims 3', 'The Sims 3 World Adventures', 'The Sims 3 Late Night', 'The Sims 3 Generations', 'The Sims 3 Pets', 'The Sims 3 Seasons', The Sims 3 University Life', 'The Sims 3 Island Paradise' and 'The Sims 3 Into The Future'. I have some lags in 'The Sims 3' on a particular save (the computer gets out of them on its own; they take almost two minutes, but I moved them out, so I hope for the best) and I only experienced one hard freeze on another save almost a year ago. Other than that, everyhting goes smoothly, Thank God and I have both 'Story Progression' and 'Memories' disabled. I have never ever installed or used mods and custom content (except for the legit worlds 'Hidden Springs' and 'Roaring Hights', which I have not added them on my current game). Here are my specs:

Need to update the video driver on the Nvidia web. This computer also has older hardware which could be giving out. Clean out your computer of dust if you have not done that.
Hard drive space is not posted. You should leave at least 50 gb free hard drive space
Your monitor speed may also be an issue. if all else fails try lowing resolution in game settings
Your very welcome. If you need further help just post back
Hi Rosemow, thanks for answering.
I was just able to do a game repair now. I, then, checked her household. She is still the same. She doesn't age and she showers in the same clothes.
If I need to, I'll try copying and deleting her but it is concerning because it is probably a bug. Thinking about it, she and the other townies with the problem probably were generated after I got CL. I can definitely remember townies marrying in before that with no issue. Other townies have also married into my game without that problem since then I think. I'll need to check some of those households to know for sure. I have incorporated several townies into my game.
I think she is some kind of bugged immortal sim. I've seen a few older posts about this but if they didn't have a trait like IsWeirdo, there didn't seem to be a fix other than deleting them.
I'm not sure if Dine Out introduced any hidden immortal traits?
The sim may have been a butler or a nanny, They also are immortal sims.

I'm bringing up the issue now because though I've had CL for a while, I've been playing a lot of different households. I remember noticing that one sim (who I was able to correct recently) wasn't aging but I didn't think too much of it until it started to become a bigger deal in the progression of the town. (She now has an adult son and is a grandmother so she shouldn't be perpetually young when she's not a vampire).
Then I had Wolfgang Munch who married a townie like that who would wear clothes in the shower. After this third one that isn't aging or showering, I decided to try to fix the issue.
It will probably be a few days or more before I can fully look at these households in the game to see the extent of the matter. I will reply again when I've looked into it within my game more.

Hello
Sometimes crashes randomly occur, then reloading the game helps. It is good that it was working without issues for over an hour after reloading the game, Try testing to see if the game continues to run without issue when you play the next time.

In the Sims 4, I have 2 townies that won't age up, won't change clothes (when they go to the gym, for example), and won't get nude in the shower.
It took me a while to notice that these two townies are probably linked to a crime that my sim-detective was investigating. The detective was not able to arrest anyone because of some sort of bug in the game, and I moved on playing with other sims and now this sim-detective is dead.
The two townies that won't age up have the right suspect criterias (female teen, skirt, black hair).
Also, the crime scene itself never cleaned up. It's a bar, so objects are still missing, and there are still graffitis on the floor. (but my sims can still go to this bar and chill out)
I wonder if I could:
1- by cheat code, remove the suspect or guilty criminal trait (whatever the name of this trait is),
2- by cheat code, clean the crime scene.
Or if there is any other way to solve this bug. THANKS! :)
Thanks for bumping this up. It's a good point. I've recently had another new townie join my rotation with this issue.
I do have several detectives and I've seen crime scenes like you mentioned that were never cleaned up. It's possible that some of these townies were linked to that.
Quite a few of my townies seem to be "non-aging".
Hello @TwoHorses
It may be because they were suspects.
They also may have a hidden trait that stops them from aging.
The Weirdo, CityRepair , and StatueBusker hidden traits prevent aging and dying
Try doing this first . Play as the sim. Then type into the cheat bar
testingcheats true
Press enter
Then type in
traits.remove_trait isWeirdo
Press enter
See if that helps.
isWeirdo can be replaced in the removal cheat with isCityRepair or isStatueBusker if that is the hidden trait that they have.
You can also try this cheat ( Type in first testingcheats true )
traits.remove_trait trait_DetectiveCareer_PoliceStationCriminalNPC
I haven’t tested that this is the suspect trait. I only read on a site that it is.
With the crime scene items still there, you could bulldoze the lot and replace the lot with a new bar lot type build.

Ok so for the bugged townies:
I should have called them NPCs (instead of townies) because they didn't appear in the unplayed households list. I had to use cheats codes to integrate both girls to a family that I'm playing with. So I'm able to change their clothes if I tell them to do so, otherwise, they don't change by themselves (to go to sleep, to swim, and so on). And they don't age.
I have tried on them all the cheatcodes that you gave me, but none of them correct the bug.
I think I will simply remove these two girls from my game. I still think they are related to a bug with the detective career, but they are the only NPCs affected by it.
For the uncleaned crime sceme:
Oh gosh, I'm so ashamed I didn't find the solution before! It was soooooo easy, I just had to change the furniture the normal way... lol!
ChampandGirlie:
I also have the problem of some unplayed households that don't age up. But the problem seems to be different from the Sims that don't change clothes and don't get nude to shower. My solution is to move them in a house somewhere, and they start aging again. I personnaly think it's a second bug, not the same one. Please let us know if you find a solution!
