Think I made my fox sad :(

So I think I made my little fox sad. Had two toy boxes (which turn on their own by the way when you travel - creepy!) one inside and one outside and all the fox would do all day is grab a ball from one box and bring it to the other - back and forth constantly - the only time he was not doing this was when he was whining about having to go potty or occasionally yipping for unknown reasons or when my sims interacted with him. So, I deleted one of the toy boxes to stop this and now he does not seem to know what to do with himself and looks sad!
I did add a pool and he did swim when I first got it so maybe he will get obsessed with swimming instead now? Poor little thing seems to need an obsession.
I am not sure if the back and forth is a glitch or not - rather odd behavior though - had the two fox traits (forget what they are at the moment) and think I added smart as the third trait.
