Oscar's Story

Oscar1.jpg

Oscar's traits: Flirty, Hopeless Romantic, Party Animal, Artistic, Easily impressed
Oscar's LTW: Rock Star

A Base Game Only version of Oscar is available on the Exchange.

On the exchange he has no CC. I had a new computer and only had the Base Game installed and patched to 1.55

Oscar arrived in Hidden Springs alone.

Oscar came from a large family and when he got to Hidden Springs he felt alone - he was alone. He knew no one. He craved being part of a family. He met lots of nice and interesting people in Hidden Springs but they all had their own families and Oscar was not a part of any of them.

Gradually Oscar came to the conclusion he would need to be proactive and make a family of his own.

This wasn't his lifetime wish. His lifetime wish was to be a rock star and he was well on the way to achieving that wish. But something important was missing from his life.

Oscar thought about his dilemma for a long time and decided he needed to have at least 15 children. He could adopt but he really wanted to be the biological father of all 15 of them if it was at all possible.

Being a man of action, once he'd worked out what he wanted he set out to find himself a wife who would be prepared to have a large family with him. This had proven to be a very difficult, and so far impossible, undertaking.

He had spent an entire year (or longer) getting to know and flirting with dozens of potential wives.

Most of the women he dated were more than happy to flirt with him and become good friends with him. Many of them would have been happy to marry him, after all he was an attractive young rock star. However, without exception, they all felt faint at the idea of having 15 babies.

A few of them had perhaps been slightly interested, but they all had friends and family who told them to stay away from him. That is was not appropriate for someone to agree to having so many babies in this day and age.

So far, none of the potential wives he met would agree to having so many babies with him, and as time went by he grew more and more despondent. It never occurred to him that he ought to be prepared to just marry a nice sim and settle down and see what happened. They could have any number of babies, or none at all. He wouldn't be completely alone with a pretty wife at home waiting for him.

But Oscar could find plenty of sims to flirt with, he wanted a big family and he couldn't see any point in settling down with someone who didn't share his dream.

The more despondent he felt, the more he felt he needed to find the right woman who would happily have lots of babies with him.

He would be happy to have more than 15 but he felt 15 would be the absolute minimum number of children he needed to have.

    Louise's Story

    Louise1.jpg

Louise's traits: Flirty, Good Sense of Humour, Great Kisser, Dislikes Children and Hopeless Romantic
Louise's LTW: Golden Tongue, Golden Fingers

There is a Base Game Only version of Louise on the Exchange.
    http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=9153985

Louise was made when I had a new computer with only the Base Game installed and patched to 1.55

Louise was an orphan and had to make her own way in the world.

She arrived in Hidden Springs looking for something but didn't quite know what she was looking for. She just knew she needed something to make her feel complete.

One thing Louise did know for sure was she didn't want children in her life. She detested children. That was the only thing of which she was certain.

Louise had learned to flirt early on and enjoyed flirting.

She was a hopeless romantic and dreamed of having a prince charming come along to sweep her off her feet and they could live happily ever after with just each other for company.

There was definitely no children in her dreams of how her idyllic future would be. Children inhabited her nightmares. Fortunately she didn't have many nightmares - most of them happened only when she came across a child when going about her daily life.

Louise was artistic and earned her income from sculpting. This meant she worked from home and had little opportunity to meet other sims. This suited her as it meant she easily kept out of the way of children.

Being relatively new in town, she was isolated.

One thing she found enjoyable was visiting the festivals they had in town. She loved to skate and there was skating available at some of the festivals depending on the season.

She enjoyed find wildflowers to pick and sell to help supplement her meagre income from sculpting.

In Spring she could search for festival eggs - that was fun.

Most of all, the festivals gave her contact with other Sims and this allowed her to indulge in occasional bouts of flirting. She chose her timing carefully and rarely encountered children while on the festival grounds.

She never got to be friendly or even to know much about the various sims she flirted with. She was happy to flirt for a short time and then move on to see what else she could collect. In the daytime she caught butterflies, beetles and the occasional bird or small creature. She usually sold them quickly before they could escape.

When she tired of the festival, which didn't happen often, she'd go to the greenhouse - it was just across the road from the festival grounds - and she'd find suns to sell and sometimes she collected seeds as she might start a garden one day. She'd need a garden because she had developed an interest in making elixirs.

The only thing she knew for sure about her future was there would be no children in it.

Oscar and Louise meet for the first time

When Oscar arrived in Hidden Springs he bought himself a cute little house near the festival grounds.

    Their_Home1.jpg

At the time he purchased the house he had high hopes of marrying and starting their family in that house.

As time passed he found no one was prepared to marry him and have all of the children he wanted so badly. He wasn't prepared to give up his dream of establishing a huge family. He remained in that house, a single man and alone.

Eventually he decided to rent out his spare room.

The house was practically empty and he could use the money as he was still working his way up his career as a rock star.

Louise happened to be looking for new accommodation.

She needed somewhere with room for her sculpting station.

She saw Oscar's advertisement of a room to rent and went to check it out.

The room was smallish considering she'd have to add her sculpting station to it but it was cheap and she could pay her rent from income she earned selling wildflowers or suns from the greenhouse.

Louise liked the look of the cute little house and she also liked the look of Oscar so she was happy to rent the spare room from him.

Now, above all else, Oscar wanted a peaceful existence at home.

He ignored Louise as he felt that would be the safest course of action to take. He was still finding new potential wives from the Hidden Springs population and hadn't yet given up on his hopes of finding one who was prepared to comply with his requirements.

Almost a whole year went by with them sharing the house before Oscar appeared to take any notice of his pretty house mate.

Now this was very unusual considering they shared two interesting traits. They were both flirty, hopeless romantics.

But once Oscar set his mind to something he was very good at sticking to it and he wanted peace at home.

Louise suited him as she was quiet and pleasant and kept to herself. She always paid her rent on time and kept herself busy sculpting or going out alone and was always quietly cheerful when at home. Since he was generally out working or dating his current sim friend they rarely encountered each other at home. Being an up and coming rock star there were plenty of sims wanting to spend time with him and to get to know him better.

Louise felt a little intimidated by her attractive landlord. He seemed really quiet and reserved at home. Until he installed a swimming pool - that was when she began to see another side of him. She noticed he enjoyed the occasional skinny dip - she pretended not to notice.

She decided to try to avoid flirting with him just in case he threw her out of his home.

There were plenty of people at the festivals for her to flirt with, but mostly she collected wildflowers and seeds and suns when she went out. Sometimes she just skated for hours.

    Oscar hatches a plan

Louise moved in with Oscar in the Summer and by Winter they had continued to live their own separate lives. They barely saw each other as they came and went going about their own daily routines.

Louise didn't try to avoid him, there was just no reason to seek him out and he was rarely at home. When Louise was at home she was generally in her own room sculpting.

    Louise3.jpg

One day Oscar was preparing to eat his breakfast when Louise came down to the kitchen. The previous day had been disappointing when he ended a fruitless relationship with the last possible wife in the entire world.

    Winter005.gif

Since Louise was his house mate he'd always avoided having any contact with her.

He knew she was flirty but she never tried to flirt with him. Probably for the same reasons as he'd avoided flirting with her. They needed to share a house and that meant they needed to get along and the best way to do that was to avoid unnecessary contact with each other.

Since he'd just broken up with his last possible prospective wife he was feeling particularly despondent.

When Louise appeared in front of him unexpectedly he really looked at her for the first time ever and thought she was the most beautiful sim he'd ever come across and he wanted her to be the mother of his babies. The only problem was she didn't like children.

He'd found out a little about her since she moved in. He knew her traits and her lifetime wish as well as what her career was. He was happy to know that not only did they share two traits, but they also shared an interest in music. You see, Louise played the guitar too. It was part of her lifetime wish to get to level 10 in guitar.

But the big stumbling block was her dislike of children.

Oscar went back into problem solving mode. He needed to find a way to convince her it would be a good idea to marry him and have at least 15 children with him.

He knew she was an orphan and didn't seem to have friends so he wouldn't have to also convince an extended family and a whole lot of friends - all of whom would undoubtedly have their own agendas.

Most of the problems he'd been having with local sims had been caused by their friends and families questioning their sanity when being told of his requirement to have 15 children. Some had been tempted but after being reasoned with by their friends or families they had all chosen to refuse him.

Louise's isolation from friends and having no family removed two huge potential hurdles in his endeavour to convince her to marry him and start having lots of babies with him.

Of course there was the other issue of her strong dislike of being anywhere near children. He was sure he'd find a way to overcome that little problem.

He liked that she worked at home as a sculptor so there weren't even workmates for him to worry about taking her aside and convincing her to steer clear of him. In other words, she was as isolated as any sim could be.

He recognised she was a hopeless romantic and was flirty too. These were two traits he shared with her. They were good traits in his opinion as it made it easy for him to get close to her once he'd noticed her and decided to try his luck with her.

He thought sharing traits would make it easier for them to get along in the future too. She'd understand his need to flirt with others and he'd try to ignore her flirting with others too, so long as she stayed faithful to him - at least until she'd had all of the babies he wanted.

He considered the possibility he might have to be prepared to let her go in the end as she might find it too difficult to stay with him once they had so many children in the house.

He decided he'd stay faithful to her too if she would agree to marry him and have at least 15 of his babies.

He knew he'd have to let her go though if she found it all too difficult to cope with living in a house full of children before she'd had all of the babies he wanted.

Oscar knew Louise was an orphan and had to find her own way in the world.

Although she was flirty she never seemed to make any friends. She didn't have a loner trait but she did seem to like her own company more than the company of others.

She seemed to be a nice quiet sim and he found her company to be pleasant and relaxing.

There'd been no trouble for the entire time she'd been renting the room and sharing his house with him.

He decided to convince her he would take care of her and their babies if she would marry him. But only if she agreed to have a minimum of 15 babies with him - this would be a condition of the marriage.

    Oscar makes his move....

After carefully thinking through how it might be made to work with Louise he began engaging her in conversation whenever they met. Mostly it was when she paid him her rent each week.

Louise continued to visit the festival grounds and particularly enjoyed skating.
    Winter006.gif

Oscar rarely had a chance to talk to her. Eventually he asked her to go on a group outing to her favourite place - the Festival.

They went snowboarding at the festival
    Winter024.gif

As she became more comfortable in his company he carefully began to steer their conversations towards his hopes and dreams for the future.

He didn't want to scare her off before he'd had a chance to present his arguments.

Oscar had worked out a way he could live with and he felt might make it easier for her to agree to what he wanted her to do.

After initiating some fun flirting they both enjoyed more than he'd anticipated he took a deep breath and started talking to her openly about his dreams.

In the meantime they continued to visit the festival grounds whenever he could manage to get there with her.

They often skated at the festival and on one memorable occasion they had some winter fun together at home building snow men and igloos in their yard.
    Winter017.gif

Oscar was a very accomplished flirt and soon he and Louise were having lots of fun at the festivals. He started gathering wildflowers to sell too.

Louise soon learned to look forward to their time together. No one had ever taken so much trouble to make her as happy as he did.

She still spent a lot of time alone as he had to work most evenings and was working hard to get to the top of the Rock Career.

Eventually he started to talk seriously about his need to have 15 children and started telling her of how he thought it could work.

He said he'd take all responsibility for the babies and make sure they were cared for and grew up to be happy, healthy and well educated sims.

He would not expect the mother of his babies to spend all of her time taking care of them, even when they were babies, because he'd get nannies to do all of that.

When she seemed a tiny bit interested in his plans, he added that if, after having all 15 babies she decided she didn't want to stay with him and the house full of children, he would assume full responsibility for the children and she could stay or leave. He hoped she'd stay but he wouldn't insist on her doing so.

Louise seemed to be warming to the abstract idea - it didn't have anything to do with her - she was sure he was still out looking for a wife in the world at large and was just talking to her about it because he needed someone to talk to and they had become good friends over the past few months.

Knowing Louise was flirty, Oscar added that he wouldn't mind if his wife still flirted with other sims occasionally.

He added, if she didn't want to stay around him and their babies she would be free to move on after she'd given birth to all 15 of his babies.

On the other hand, if she didn't want to move on, and didn't need to get away from a house that would, by then, be full of children then she'd be welcome to stay with him for as long as she wanted to.

He was offering his potential wife a secure home for life. Or for as long as she wanted to stay with him.

Louise begins to get the idea...

Louise started to get the idea Oscar was talking to her about her becoming the mother of his 15 babies.

    This was a shock.

He'd never once laid a hand on her. They'd never even hugged or held hands or kissed. All they did was flirt occasionally.

He was always careful to keep his distance and gave her all the personal space she needed.

They had been doing a lot of talking.

She knew he flirted with a lot of other sims all the time when he wasn't at home.

She was surprised that she wasn't repelled by the idea of becoming the mother of his children.

She didn't want children in her life. At all. None of them. She couldn't stand being near children.

She really liked Oscar though. And the idea of having a secure home where she could be happy and indulge in her own pursuits was very tempting.

She knew she would still be able to earn her own income sculpting and collecting things to sell. She didn't have to become dependent on him and he was happy for her to do that if she wanted to.

She found she had become accustomed to having Oscar as a good close friend and wanted to be with him all the time now. She waited for him to come home after each concert and he always did come home as soon as the concert was over.

The thought of him going off and marrying some other sim was becoming something she couldn't bear to contemplate. It gradually dawned on her if she wanted to keep him in her life she'd have to change her attitude to babies a little.

She wondered if there might be a potion that could remove that annoying dislikes children trait. She decided to look into that possibility.

Louise asked Oscar if she could start planting a small garden in the bottom basement. He agreed and she planted a few seeds she'd found while out at the festival and at the greenhouse.

Louise hoped she could use some of the herbs she was growing in her garden to make her dislikes children trait go away.

    Winter012.gif

Oscar helped her tend her small garden.

    Oscar begins to hope ....

Oscar became aware he had finally got Louise thinking seriously about how she could comply with his wishes and still be a happy sim.

He was elated - he was making progress and she had no one else to talk her out of it so it was all up to him to keep working on her to agree with what he wanted.

He still worried she'd come to the decision she couldn't do it and just move out. She could do that at any time and he wouldn't try to stop her.

Louise did have thoughts of running away. She had those thoughts quite often.

At one stage she even planned to move to a different world entirely. Sunlit Tides came to her mind as being a nice place to live. But there was something about Oscar and she didn't want to have to be without him.

One day she just knew she wanted to keep him in her life, even if it meant she would have to find a way to have all of those babies. She decided to start working out how she could do it on her own terms.

Louise knew Oscar was flirty and had a string of female sims who he flirted with regularly so she knew he would also want the freedom he was offering her. When he said he'd be happy if she continued to flirt with others, she believed he meant it.

To test it out she let him see her flirting openly with a very attractive paparazzi.

Oscar reacted - and he wasn't happy. But his anger was more from the fear of losing the best potential mother of his babies he had come across in the whole world in which they lived, than jealousy of her having some light hearted fun with another sim.

Oscar built a huge fence around their home and added a big gate that could be locked.

He didn't want unwelcome visitors on the lot when he was at home.

He explained to her that if she let people in when he was not at home then that was her business and he didn't want to know about it.

He was usually at home when she was there so she wasn't realistically going to be inviting strangers into the house. He only went out alone to give concerts at the theatre or stadium. Otherwise when he went out he was with Louise.

She was encouraged and decided she would take him on and marry him and have his babies.

Of course he was taking a risk too as there was no way he could enforce their agreement and she knew it.

On the last day of Winter Oscar came home from performing in a concert and got down on one knee and asked Louise to be his wife.

    Winter018.gif

In spite of their months of long conversations on the subject, she was surprised. But she was overcome with happiness and quickly accepted his proposal.

    Winter019.gif

Now they were an officially engaged couple. Louise and Oscar were both very happy.

    Louise makes her plans...

Being engaged to Oscar was wonderful - but Louise was having second thoughts.

To Louise she faced one of two potential futures. She knew enough about life by now to realise she was making the biggest decision she had ever made and she had no one to talk to about it. So she had to think it through herself.

One possible future was a lonely life of a sculptor who occasionally got out and flirted with a few people.

The other was to be the loved wife of someone she had come to adore. She still might flirt occasionally but there would never be anything serious in it if she was happily married to Oscar.

She also had a feeling that it would be seen by others as having made a particularly good move as she had noting to lose and she was gaining a very attractive rock star for a husband. She knew very well she wasn't the only sim who found him very attractive. It was just the details of what he wanted that had scared others away from marrying him already.

She had by now convinced herself it might be nice to be part of a large family, especially if someone else took care of them and all she'd have to do was become pregnant a few times and give birth.

She knew a sim pregnancy only ever lasted 3 days so it didn't seem a terribly onerous thing to agree to.

If the house was designed properly to meet her needs, she need never even see or hear their children unless she decided she wanted to.

Once they were married, she assumed she'd move into Oscar's bedroom on the top floor of their house and live with him there.

The babies could be in a nursery in the basement. Oscar could build a huge nursery down there and they'd fill it with babies and nannies. She need never go down there unless she wanted to.

When the children got older and were more active they could be banned from going upstairs to Louise's private area.

She could retreat to her sculpting whenever she felt the need. And she could still visit the festivals and the other places around the world that she enjoyed so much. This would give her ample opportunity to indulge in occasional light hearted flirting.

She expected to be kept busy by Oscar a lot of the time and she probably wouldn't be able to get out to do much flirting. That idea didn't worry her too much. She liked being with Oscar more than she liked flirting with strangers. She probably would want to flirt with that attractive paparazzi whenever she got the chance though - even if she was out with Oscar at the time.

Louise knew she would enjoy being an important part of Oscar's life and if giving birth to a lot of babies was the price she'd have to pay to do it she'd find a way to make it happen.

Besides, she might like having babies after all. She was young, strong and healthy so the pregnancies shouldn't been too difficult to get through. There was a good hospital in their town if she needed assistance.

She did feel strongly she could be happy with Oscar and didn't want to lose him.

They did have a lot of important traits in common.

This seemed to her to be the best way to secure her future.

Being realistic, she wasn't actually looking forward to having 15 pregnancies. She hoped she'd be able to have multiple births and began researching if this would be possible and what she could to do encourage it.

On the day the Spring Festival opened Oscar and Louise went to the festival together and looked for festival eggs.

    Spring004.gif

He knew she was having second thoughts and hoping she'd not change her mind about becoming engaged to him.

Louise confirms her acceptance of Oscar's proposal...

One evening, when she felt confident it could be done her way, and she and Oscar were out at the Spring Festival Louise told him she would be happy to marry him and have his babies.

When Louise told him she would be happy to become his wife and have his 15 babies Oscar was stunned - speechless - he thought fast. He had resigned himself to the impossiblity of achieving his goal.

He wasn't about to give her time to change her mind and quietly insisted they have a private wedding on the spot where they stood at that moment.

They were married in a private ceremony at the Spring Festival seconds after she told him she would be happy to agree to his proposal.

    Spring008.gif

He had been sure she would change her mind if he let her go home without them being already married.

It was an exciting and memorable moment for both of them when they exchanged their promises in a private ceremony at the festival grounds.

They promised each other to be together as husband and wife and make the life they'd planned together.

Since they were already sharing a house there was no need for her to move in with him, she simply sold her single bed and started sleeping with him in his double bed upstairs.

    Spring012.gif

    Spring013.gif

    Spring014.gif

Nothing else in their lives seemed to change. Louise still worked from home as a sculptor. It was just that now she had a husband and she enjoyed the benefits having Oscar for a husband gave her.

Louise was the happiest she had ever been in her life and happier than she'd ever hoped she might be. Oscar was happy too. Louise was a perfect wife for him.

They spent the next year together becoming used to being together as a married couple. She wasn't ready to start baby making straight away and he didn't want to force the issue, but he let her know he expected her to have her first pregnancy in the second year of their marriage.

    The year of parties ...

To help pass the time during their first year together as a married couple they had several parties and invited mostly Oscar's friends because Louise still didn't have many.

In Spring they visited the Spring Festival often. It was the first season of their married life together. Louise wanted to be Festival Queen and she danced to festival music every single day of the season.

    Spring016.gif

Oscar was simply happy to have Louise as his wife. He went to the Festival with her because she was happy there.

    He danced with her occasionally.

    Spring032.gif

To mark her change in status Louise had her hair cut and purchased a new wardrobe.

Oscar just stayed as good old Oscar for the time being.

Louise collected Festival Eggs almost every day before she started dancing.

    Spring039.gif

    Summer013.jpg

They had a pool party at home and Oscar had a pool put into their back yard for the party.

    Summer010.jpg

Louise wore curls when she was in her swimwear

She kept on sculpting and sold some of her sculptures for quite a lot of money
    Summer021.jpg

There was roller skating at the Summer festival
    Summer020.jpg

    Summer015.jpg

Each night they'd cuddle together while they slept off the exhaustion of their daily lives.
    Autumn007.jpg

They often dreamed of babies - but Louise's dreams usually had a red cross through them.

    Autumn019.jpg

Louise studied Alchemy in the hope of discovering an elixir that would remove her dislike of children.
    Autumn026.jpg

She learned how to make sculptures of topiaries.
    Autumn037.jpg

They enjoyed their pool party and several of Oscar's friends turned up.

    Autumn051.jpg

Actually, the pool turned out to be a popular spot for guests to mingle at all of their parties that year.

Oscar concentrated on carving pumpkins at their costume party that Autumn.
    Autumn057.jpg

They were a very happy young couple throughout the year.
    Autumn066.jpg

Louise went to a costume party at another sim's house and made a new friend.
    Autumn088.jpg

She also saw a sim dressed as a cow plant.
    Autumn090.jpg

After the party Louise went to the festival and found Oscar had finished work and arrived at the festival where he was playing guitar for tips.
    Autumn104.jpg

At home, Oscar started sculpting on Louise's sculpting station.
    Autumn124.jpg

Louise decorated their house with one of her stone tables she sculpted and one of Oscar's cat carved pumpkins.
    Autumn127.jpg

In Winter Louise learned how to sculpt in metal.
    Winter000002.jpg

They made more snowmen and igloos.
    Winter000005.jpg

Louise continued to go skating at the Festival.
    Winter000009.jpg

They added a basement to their home and invited Oscar's friends to a gift giving party one day and a feast party the next.
    Winter000033.jpg

Oscar danced and flirted with various friends.
    Winter000044.jpg

Louise went outside and let off some fireworks.
    Winter000047.jpg

    Winter000048.jpg

There were a few problems at the feast party.
    Winter0014.jpg

Especially when two of the guests started fighting over Oscar.
    Winter0036.jpg

Things looked as if they were getting out of hand until Louise intervened.
    Winter0035.jpg

They seemed to come to their senses when his wife walked between them and stopped brawling at the party.

Louise then proceeded to dance on the counter

Guests were leaving by then so the dancing soon stopped.

After the partying was done they were both happy and Louise knew a lot more about his friends and the other sims in his working life.

Soon it was Spring again and they celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

Louise knew what that meant - and she still hadn't found a way to rid herself of that annoying dislikes children trait. But she had found lots of fascinating information on how to reduce the number of pregnancies she'd need to have to produce 15 babies. The challenge for her was to see if she could do it in only 4 pregnancies of would she need more.

Oh - and Oscar got King of the Spring festival and Louise got nothing to show for all of her dancing.
