So being on the forums I remembered that Sims 3 pets was the first EP I ever preorded and I was on the forums all excited. It's over 6 years later and I'm here waiting for the next pets EP. I'm not as excited but am still looking forward to it.
Pets is tricky since every iteration has had pets so there's alot of expectations. I can't remember if more people were active before or if it's about the same. Was anyone else on the forums when 3 released pets or even 2's pets release.

Don't tick me off, I will not spend if you do. lol
Yeah, I think it was TS2 or TS3 which had that TV ad of all those dogs chasing a guy, that was a fun trailer to watch even if it was a commercial. I used to enjoy TS2 and TS3 commercials a lot more than I do TS4 trailers.
I used to love the Sims 2 adverts. I used to love watching them on the website. They were just better I think. The Sims 4 adverts are quite gimmicky and don't show much off (probably because there's not much to show tbf). They seem to rely on carefully choreographed animations to create hype and that's it, there's not much substance.
TS1's Unleashed was a little different. I think it was because I was soo young at the time, but it's the only Pets I think that I felt very excited playing. Since I didn't have my dogs before then, It was a fun experience as a child.
TS2's pets seemed really good though but I usually ended up using maybe one pet for one family and not using them as much, not to mention I liked the small animals for the young simmers who weren't able to have a cat or dog in the house. Either way, they seemed worth a couple of families with a dog etc. I had even tried to make my own dogs, lol didn't work so well but it was interesting experience that in my own way liked.
TS3's pets felt really big, It had things far beyond TS2's pets. Lots of items, a big neighborhood, horses, small pets and yes cats and dogs. So yeah I was more excited for that go around. In some areas I felt TS3's version excelled yet in other forms, it just didn't. I'm not against horses in the slightest, however I'm not going to lie when I say I felt their new feel got in the way of the major pets. That being said, another thing that was a super pet peeve (and this was with TS2 as well) was the major load of stray pets around the neighborhood. I know this might just be me but I don't think I ever actually adopted a stray in any of the games really. So the excessive stray dogs, cats, and horses were just tooo much imo. It was a nice idea, but just too much. What I do love about TS3 though, was their ability to "toggle" all of those things off. It gave us the options for those things.
TS4's C&D, I expected it's release down to a T and in a sense I was looking forward to it due to how parenthood came out. However when I saw the trailer..I didn't feel excited, I didn't see a big difference in the pets themselves. I couldn't make the connection between TS2's pets and these besides the fact that they were uncontrollable. I just didn't feel it. Even though I haven't been excited about pets, usually I do feel good vibes from it and the pack itself. This one for me felt like the other TS4 expansions so far for me. It's a "Meh" feel.
