So I recently downloaded master controller and the woohoo one. I have been trying like crazy to get it to work. Is anyone able to help or knows how to do this? I just want to be able to have the story progression for my sims family since her eldest is about to move out. Thanks!

There are different ways to switch on/off story progression and to control the way it affects your sim.
You can set "Use Custom Population" to Enabled, which means there will be story progression regarding the MCCC custom rules.
Computer:MC Command Center > MC Population > Use Custom Population
You can set "Pregnancy Percent Adjustment" for autonomous pregnancies.
Computer:MC Command Center > MC Pregnancy > Pregnant Sim Selection > Pregnancy Percent Adjustment
You can set "Marriage Percent Adjustment" for autonomous marriages.
Computer:MC Command Center > MC Pregnancy > Marriage Sim Selection > Marriage Percent Adjustment
This and other scenarios are explained in the MCCC FAQ, which you can find here:

You might also have a look at the 'flags', which control the story progression of a particular sim.
Flags override the general story progression settings.
You can access the sim flags selecting:
SIM:MC Command Center > Sim Flags...
This is the flag menu from the MCCC 3.5.
I use this outdated screenshot intentionally for showing the range of possibilities.
The current menu looks different (categorized in sub levels) and has more flags to choose from.
Please note, that not all flags are visible on every sim. It depends on the situation, which flag could be used. Active sims usually have less flags than non played sims.
Before you start experimenting make a backup of your game data.
Backup is always a good idea, even without a special reason.
If you have any questions, please ask.
