Want your sibling-rivalry-story to progress the way you want it: Only let the Golden one advance and lock skill gain after lvl 4 or 5 for the sibling.
Want your clumsy sim to be a lovable klutz at everything: Lock skills early
Want your amazing artsy sim who paints, plays and does everything oh so well still feel human: Lock singing and let him/her sing duets with their much more talented friends
It is just so freeing to have sims that can be different.
Coming back just for a update but Lock Skill Gain Progress this is just one of those things that makes me so happy.
I play on a very long lifespan so the father in my little family just unlocked parenting lvl 3 and the child is still a toddler. So now I can lock that skill so there is still something for him to work on when kiddo becomes a teenager and he doesn't have to be super-parent unless I want him to be that. I get to decide what skills and good he becomes at them.
The mom is locked at parenting lvl 2 because I want her to be a loving and great mom but a little bit hapless about it. If skills just kept on progressing no matter what this would have been pretty much impossible for me to tell the story this way.
You know how in sims3 you could play chess on a computer to build logic? This brings it back! Kinda. Sometimes you just don't have room for a whole chess set in your living room or an observatory in the backyard.
Most helpful, I think, are some of the no autonomous mods that you can't set with mccc. Such as:
- no auto check toddler
- no auto smash school projects
- No auto toddler ask to be picked up
- no auto view bubble blower
- no auto view talking toliet
- simghosts_no auto possess and no auto break stuff
holy moly do I use a lot of her mods! Instead of listing everything on her site (lol), I'll just put my favorites.
- Better Nanny
- Let Friends Age up (Like sims2!)
- More Social Activies
- More away actions
- Anti-fear training pets
- No sick dirty sad hungry pets
- Better Butler
- No burning sun in forgotton hallow
- no vampire invasion on community lots
- Small laundry overhaul
- Wake up overhaul (you know how kids always gasp like they're startled when they wake up?)
- City Life: Thirst tweak, festival tea
- City Life: no curry contest shirt
- City Life: Blossom Festival (formal wear)
- Vampires: No fake vampires
- Pets: No random pet clothing (I'm sorry but I hate it when people dress their animals up...)
- Pets: Pet walk by in other worlds (yay pets!)
- Other: Club Dancer tweak (Is this still needed? It needed a fix...fast.)
- Other: Sad Mourning (Only sad sims will mourn)
- Other: Less Bar Nights
- Other: More Children at Parks
- Other: No auto mold clay
- Other: No auto make a mess
- Other: No auto swipe
- Other: Less watch toddler
