Desktop PC help

Hey

I'm buying my own computer and I need some advice. Looking at an HP Envy desktop (750-471na); specs below.
Would this run Sims 3 OK? I'm used to playing with settings at max and no lag.

Windows 10 Home 64
Intel® Core™ i7-6700 Quad-core processor
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 (3 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
8 GB memory

Chipset - Intel H170
Processor family - 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor
Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-6700 (3.4 GHz base frequency, up to 4 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)

Internal Storage - 2 TB 7200 rpm SATA
Hard drive (2nd) - 256 GB SATA SSD

Power supply type - 300 W AC power adapter

Also any advice monitor wise? Looking at 27" full HD resolution. Does response time matter with Sims?

You will have issues with that computer. One the case has bad cooling and not much room for upgrades. The 350 watt power supply will also be a problem . You want a good case that has good cooling . Room for upgrades or switching out hardware. You want at least a 500 watt power supply

I see this HP model is sold in the UK so I'm guessing that is where you are. What is your budget?

Power supply is definitely wimpy and motherboard probably lacks upgrade options. I'm using a 42" 1080i VIZIO TV - I picked up a last year model (one with a TV tuner) for $220 USD. Make sure the TV is 1080i and NOT 720p.

Budget is around £1000. Screen around £200. Would rather buy a complete PC already made as I'm not good with changing components afterward.

You might be able to go custom where you pick out your own hardware with that budget. This would be the best option. @chesterbigbird is a build expert. There are companies where chester can do a computer configuration picking out hardware and the company will build the computer for you. Chester should be on the board later. She is on a different time zone

As the replies above said.. definitely skip that HP the power supply is terrible.
If you want to go custom you will need to increase the budget slightly.
Is there any other games you will be playing?
I would probably go for something like this :

Did a bit more researching last night and found these...

They seem like what I want (memory, graphics, storage - could add more if I need to). I just don't know what case, motherboard, power supply, cooling etc. would work. Any pointers for me to go in the right direction would be great

None of those are perfect.. a couple have not so good power supplies and small SSD's.
I will PM you as i may be able to get you a custom for around the 1,000 if your only playing the sims 3.
