Mute Category Feature Not Working

I am not sure when it stopped working (perhaps with the forum reorganization) but the mute category feature no longer works.
I wish we were still able to mute the child categories so we could clean up what we see.
An example is below. You can see I already have that category muted yet there it is, lol.
