If you lose your game disk, can you use a replacement disk with your same code?

(It isn't a huge problem because most of the time I use my iMac with Origin to play Sims 4)

I really wanted to play The Sims 3 which I had installed many years ago on my old Samsung laptop using the disks and have just never got round to uninstalling and reinstalling them all through origin. I only use this laptop to play Sims 3 (and all the expansions) but I cannot find the disk I need to play. Probably because me and my sister used to share and swap a lot.

But if I bought a replacement disk, would it work with the activation code I already have?

I hope this makes sense

You can register the game and get a free digital copy through Origin.

No. Each disc comes with their own activation code. You would have to uninstall the EP you lost the disc to and replace it with the new disc and activation code

Then op may be subject to the 1.69 patch. It sounds like they have the 1.67 patch playing all disc

Actually codes are not tied to the disc they are packaged with. If OP found just a used disc alone through something like eBay, they can play with their code. This is what the OP is suggesting. Of course buying new is ideal. I've been sold a used game without a code before and I've also seen it advertised as such. I did end up finding a code and the disc worked as expected. If patch 1.69 isn't a worry and the code isn't already registered by someone else, Origin will work too.

I currently have Generations + World Adventures installed with different discs and I'm using a different code with my original Supernatural disc.
