Sims 4 Career choices branching out question

OK, I have a question to ask. For example if my Sim chooses the Astronaut career and branches out to being Space Ranger, can he/she then quit the job totally (after reaching level 10), start from the bottom again and then branch out to being Interstellar Smuggler? This question also applies to all the other careers.

Thanks.

Not without a mod. After quitting, you'll only see the branch you have chosen in the list of careers.

Thank you for the clarification. So may I know which mod allows you to do this? Thanks.

I think MC Command Center has an option that does that but I'm not sure, but I haven't used it personally. @egwarhammer may know it better than me, she has a thread about MC Command Center here : http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/913483/mc-command-center-local-help-chat-thread/p1

Yeah, you gotta use a mod for that. If you don't want to use a mod, you have to make the sim quit his job, save the household to your library, delete the existing household in the world and put the one you saved in. This will "reset" the branches, but you will still keep all your unlocked career items.

There is also a stand alone mod for changing careers if you don't want to download MCCommand Center (which I do highly recommend doing for things like Story Progression and stuff but it is a larger mod so it might not be the mod for you): you can find it HERE It hasn't been updated since 2015 but the last time I tried using it it was still working the way it should and looking at comments as recent as June of this year the basics is still working you just might not re-get your career rewards since the mod jumps you directly to the career split when you use it to replay a career.

I too would like to know how to do this with MCCommand Center I mostly use that mod for story progression so I haven't a grasp on how to do other things with it.

I saw someone play and when they quit a job and then tried to rejoin it, they got hired one level below the level they were at when they quit. And they did it again (quit, rejoined) to check and it knocked them down another level. So maybe if you did that until you knock your Sim down to level one you could see if you can pick a different branch? No clue, but just wanted to offer it.

I think that is worth a try. Will take some time though.

MC Command Center - downloaded from the links on https://deaderpoolmc.tumblr.com/tagged/mcccrelease - will allow you to reset the career branch. It is very simple to do. You retain the unlocked items of the previous branch. One note of caution. When I used it last I lost all the royalty payment submissions I had made for books and songs. I don't know it that is how it should work or even if it is related to MCCC but it is worth knowing that it might happen. It only happened to the career change sim and not to the others in the household.

Along with resetting the career branch, MC will allow you to Promote and Demote your sim at the click of a button, change the vacation days and even gives you the ability to freeze the career progression at its current level.

I love MCCC, although I know I haven't explored all of its depth. But, then again, I was a huge fan of Twallen and his NRaas, Industry mods for Sims3. :)
