The boys had been adjusting to their first year in High School, they have been attending for a month now and were getting into the swing of things, making friends, taking challenging classes, doing afterschool activities and getting part time jobs...
The boys were out goofing off after school one boring Thursday afternoon...their Principal Mr. Alto approached the boys just to be sure there was no mischief going on...
The boys all knew Mr. Alto, he had a nice guy reputation with the kids and everyone liked him.
Connor especially liked him as they had several traits in common.
The only brother who didn't seem to be enthralled with Mr. Alto was Jared, he liked him well enough but something about him bugged Jared so he kept his distance after a friendly greeting.

Exactly One Year and 3 Months after Paulo's birth.....
Caroline and Joe have been having issues with their marriage since Paulo's birth, it was very difficult for Caroline to be home with Paulo. She was feeling lonely as Joe was always at work and though he did play with Paulo when he was home on weekends is was more of a snuggle here and there rather than real help like changing diapers, or putting down for a nap or even amusing Paulo so Caroline could get out of the house for a little time to herself. Caroline was resentful and pulled away from Joe...not healthy at all.
Bert had been in town for awhile now with his new job as the Principal of the High School and decided now was a good time to see if Caroline was in any mood to go out with him for a drink, she should have forgiven him for his dalliance by now he figured.
Caroline agreed to meet him, she was at a low point in her life and figured a night out even if it was with Bert was better than nothing.
She agreed to meet him not for a drink as she knew what happened to Bert after a few drinks (he got very handsy), they met up by the camping grounds....it was nice and quiet and hopefully no one would be around to hear the screaming...
She had thought their breakup would be fine and not effect her as they had been barely a couple for awhile, but when she finally got away from Bert she found she really missed him and was annoyed with his cheating behavior. It hadn't been the first time after all...and it hurt.
Caroline started in on Bert the second she spotted him...he had broken her heart after all...must be a trait of the Alto boys Caroline thought bitterly to herself.
Bert tried to calm Caroline down, but she needed to purge her sadness and anger...
Caroline eventually broke down and started crying, they had not talked since the day she caught him with the tramp and though she didn't think it mattered as she was over Bert it obviously bothered her deep inside.
Bert calmly and gently expressed his regret for his poor decisions in their relationship, he meant it too, he could be a heartless bas*tar*d but he did care for Caroline.
Bert's confession touched Caroline, she never though he cared about anyone other than himself, he was proving her wrong.
Neither one was thinking when another very poor decision presented itself.....
So when Bert suggested they find somewhere to get cozier Caroline was into the idea....
Bert drove about 30 miles over the speed limit to get to the only cheap motel in town...he figured Caroline would back out if given much time to think about what they were about to do.
It was a fast and furious coupling...
....and Caroline did regret it almost immediately and walked (ran) out on Bert while he was in the bathroom.
Unfortunately she came home at 3:30 AM to a very awake and concerned Joe....
Well he was concerned until he got closer to Caroline who reeked of men's cologne...
...Joe asked her if she had been with another man, Caroline said she had only been out with Bert as a friend.
Joe didn't believe her at all.....
Joe tried to calm down but did ask why she reeked of men's cologne and was home at a very suspicious hour....
Caroline said she hugged Bert which is why she smelled like him, and they were talking at the diner which was open till 4:00 AM, both lies that she figured would cover her bad behavior of the night. Joe thought about it for a minute and decided to believe Caroline, she wouldn't cheat on him he concluded.
Exactly Nine Months Later.... (and only 3 days after Paulo's 2nd Birthday)....
Good Lord! Another shocker! How am I going to keep track of which kids are related or not!? LOL

The day started out wonderfully, Jared and Paulo shared a Birthday celebration since their Birthday's were so close together, Jared turned 16, Paulo turned 18 (I age them up to YA on their 19th Birthday)..
Jared decided to ask Joe if he could teach him how to drive. Joe to Jared's surprise said he would love to...
Joe had been spending more time with Caroline and the kids recently, Buster and Bessie were separated but the atmosphere at their house was tense when Joe tried to spend time with Bessie as Buster always seemed to be around even though Buster had started living up at the vacation house and did not live in the main house anymore (Bessie let Buster visit Xander whenever he wanted). Joe wanted to see Bessie and called to see if she would meet him at The Watering Hole a bar in town so they could relax and discuss finding a place of their own.
Bessie and Joe were excited at the prospect of finally being together and even discussed getting married after they found a house they could live in peacefully, the thought of finally being able to marry Bessie made Joe giddy.
The couple decided on having a few drinks while they were at the bar, Bessie only had two as she had to head out to work for the night shift and going in sloshed was not her idea of responsible.
Kisses flowed as freely as the drink....Joe was finally Happy!
Bessie was a little concerned with the amount Joe was drinking but he didn't need to be anywhere so she bit her tongue.
A quick kiss before she left for work.....
Joe indulged a bit more.....then got a text from Jared asking if he could help out more with his driving lessons.
Joe texted that he would be home soon and they would go out again for a few hours...
Joe spotted Jenni as he headed to his car, what the sneer was about I'll never know.
He was probably wondering where she was going jogging by in high heels..
Joe jumped in his car, eager to get home and help out Jared with learning to drive...he and Jared had a tense at best relationship but the driving lessons were a source of fun/bonding for both of them.
The deer jumped out in front of the car so fast Joe had no choice but to swerve and try to miss it but with his drinking that night his swerve flung the car right into a huge tree ejecting Joe from the car which promptly burst into flames...
Joe felt no pain, but everything around him was going black, he heard a final scream in the distance and lost consciousness....
The scream came from Julia who witness the accident and immediately called the fire department screaming into the phone "Save him...oh God, I think he's dead!!!"
Joe passed on that Wednesday night...
Grim finished up his job right as the fire department showed up...
The scene was too tough even for the firefighters....

Billy was not looking forward to what he had to do that night, going to tell someone that their loved one had perished was never an easy thing to do.
Jared answered the door and was curious to see a cop and firefighter standing there looking sad.
Billy asked if Jared's mother was home...
The kids all huddled around eager to find out why a cop and firefighter were visiting...Jared was just about to text Joe and ask when he would be home for more driving lessons, it had been 3 hours from when Jared texted him last and it was getting late.
Lucy the firefighter lead the kids out of the room, she knew from experience it was better if only the adults were present for such sad news.
Billy took a deep breath and tried to be gentle while telling Caroline about the accident...
Billy allowed himself to break down too...it was all too sad to deal with.
A million questions went through Caroline's mind, but she was too numb to even try to process any of them, she took comfort in Billy's sympathy...
After Billy and Lucy left Caroline knew she had to tell the kids what happened.

Caroling hugged Jared she though she heard Jared whisper "This is all my fault" over and over quietly....

Oh Jared, don't allow yourself to believe this was your fault! He needs to find out the truth from Bessie! I can't imagine how hard the news will be for her... Plus we still gotta find out if Joe was his dad or not!?

@Mikezumi , I figure if George can kill off main characters in Game of Thrones (some of which I loved!!) because it's needed to move the story along I can do it too... . I was originally going to konk off Caroline but that messed with how I want it to end. I dragged my feet on actually doing it in that update, I wasn't ready for him to go, I actually adore Joe and all his quirks (Joe being a Jared clone aged up). The next few updates will probably depress me...Bessie is NOT going to be happy with me.
This was a terribly sad update - Jared feeling guilty is the saddest part - but the screenshots were beautifully made! And thank you for making the cheat sheet, it's very helpful!
Great story, but so many affairs though! I'm not sure if I should even believe that Connor is Joe's son because of it. I'm still a bit shocked that Jamie is Joe's daughter though. Jamie and Connor are my favorite couple, so I was like "Noooo!" when it was revealed they may be related here. Poor Jared on that note, too. Thinking he started a relationship with his own half-sister... only, she may not be his half-sister after all!

Caroline didn't beat around the bush, she told Bessie strait out that there had been a horrible accident and Joe was killed. Bessie was stunned....
She couldn't believe it for a second then she realized she would never see the love of her life ever again, it was enough to twist her stomach and break her heart in two.
Caroline never realized just how much Bessie cared for Joe, she had always assumed Bessie was just a long time fling and she didn't love him. Seeing her break down and whisper his name over and over again in between sobs made Caroline feel for the woman.
Caroline went in the house and told a curious Buster and Xander what had happened, Xander took the news very hard. Buster was friends with Joe for years but since his and Bessie's separation he avoided Joe like the plague, he was sad but there was a tinge of relief in there too.
Xander felt dizzy all of a sudden and collapsed on the floor...his body and brain couldn't take the news that his father was gone.
After Xander came to he remembered the last time he had seen his father, it was 3 days ago and he and Joe talked for over an hour about anything and everything..it was a great time spent with his father....it was going to be a prized memory Xander thought to himself..
Jared saw how upset Xander was and tried his best to push down his own grief and comfort his half brother.
Jared tried to comfort his mom as all the crying was getting to her again.
The next day everyone was getting ready for the funeral....sadness was all over, the mood was beyond somber.
Poor Connor was on the verge of 15 years old, he being the youngest was having a very hard time processing everything that had happened, all he really knew was that he was going to miss his father a lot.
Jared and Paulo thought that eating leftover Birthday cake might somehow cheer them up..

Everyone gathered at the graveyard to bid Joe farewell...
Some were less interested in mourning for Joe's demise...Vita seemed more interested in her money.
Bessie saw that Jared was having a very tough time with all this and tried to comfort him.
Connor and Jared tried to cheer each other up...
Hopefully everyone will heal from this tragedy quickly...
I need to lighten this up a bit and saw tons of funny/warped things go on in the process of setting up the Funeral...so here are some Extras:
I needed loads of crying so I wanted some extra Joe gravestones, the three in blue are about to drop dead for the gravestones, the one in the printed top is the original and he is still lurking around my game as I don't want to delete him, he looks annoyed with all the extra Joe's!
This MALE mascot seemed to be a member of the Joe fanclub...this was right after I had to move everyone to Riverview....game was glitching out like crazy.
Seems like everyone liked the mascot!

After Xander came to he remembered the last time he had seen his father, it was 3 days ago and he and Joe talked for over an hour about anything and everything..it was a great time spent with his father....it was going to be a prized memory Xander thought to himself..
Jared saw how upset Xander was and tried his best to push down his own grief and comfort his half brother.
Jared tried to comfort his mom as all the crying was getting to her again.
The next day everyone was getting ready for the funeral....sadness was all over, the mood was beyond somber.
Poor Connor was on the verge of 15 years old, he being the youngest was having a very hard time processing everything that had happened, all he really knew was that he was going to miss his father a lot.
Jared and Paulo thought that eating leftover Birthday cake might somehow cheer them up..

Everyone gathered at the graveyard to bid Joe farewell...
Some were less interested in mourning for Joe's demise...Vita seemed more interested in her money.
Bessie saw that Jared was having a very tough time with all this and tried to comfort him.

I need to lighten this up a bit and saw tons of funny/warped things go on in the process of setting up the Funeral...so here are some Extras:
I needed loads of crying so I wanted some extra Joe gravestones, the three in blue are about to drop dead for the gravestones, the one in the printed top is the original and he is still lurking around my game as I don't want to delete him, he looks annoyed with all the extra Joe's!
This MALE mascot seemed to be a member of the Joe fanclub...this was right after I had to move everyone to Riverview....game was glitching out like crazy.
Seems like everyone liked the mascot!
