I have no idea what role you will play in this mystery Lionel Santos, but at least the compound will have some cool science toys that you will invent.
Mulder and Scully are still trying to get a keycard to the secret base.
The scientist were of no help, but perhaps this officer...
Jackpot!
Finally.
"I will deny ever having met you Mr. Mulder."
Of course he will, but we don't care. Let's get inside that base:
"Surprise, surprise, it's 'Bill'."
[Yeah, I placed Bill here for an extra layer of game play depth. Strangerville needs aliens.]
Fox Mulder asks him if he is out for a stroll.
Bill simply says something weird is going on here. He just wants to know what's going on.
"If he is out here, then Bunny is in there," says Scully.
Yes, Bunny is in here investigating.
"Find anything interesting, 'Bunny?'"
"We know what you are. What do you know about these strange plants."
"Well... Uhh..."
[Zap]
"What was I saying..."
[Ok, player wants to play instead of tell stories. I want to get into the meat of this game.]
So, Scully and Mulder are teaming up with these aliens to investigate the lab.
And it should start by opening this door.
That did it. They are in.
And...
Whoa, concentrated spores.
And they are breathing it in. Not good.
I believe Dana wants to rein Mulder in, but loose cannons want to be loose.
Alright, let's dive into the secrets of this base.
Uhm...
How about this way?
What's so funny, "Bunny"?
Oh, that's nervous laughter.
Do you know what this is, Bunny?
"Wow, it looks like they were studying the plants, Mulder."
"Scully, I just realized something."
"What, Mulder?"
"This is our first investigation. Let's take a picture!"
"Ooh, okay!"
"Cheeeese!"
"Look at us! We are quite photogenic together."
"Yeah... we should have our own TV show."
"Hmm... these specimens look more advanced, Scully.
They also look like they could be from another planet."
"Or they could be genetically manipulated terrestrial plants, Mulder."
"Yeah, Terrestrial, Mulder."
Bunny seems to be of another opinion.
What did you do, Bunny?
A guilty conscious seems to be at work.
Wow, there is a lot more of them and some of them are bigger.
Scully takes a sample from one of the plants.
"So what do you think, Scully?"
I believe we may have triggered something by unlocking that door, Mulder.
We released more spores, but I believe these plants are all connected by something more complex somehow."
"I also believe those two shouldn't be wandering around unescorted. They know something."
"Yeah, they should be brought in."
Something has definitely been activated.
Not good.
I haven't been playing much and I haven't even updated the game with the latest patch.
I still haven't gotten much further with Strangerville either. I am feeling the need to push through and finally get to the end of it.
I might feel more inspired to play if I knew what the next pack (game pack or expansion pack) is going to be.
I will be working on the next Strangerville post this weekend.
Scully and Mulder are back at the base for deeper investigations.
This is turning into a regular fetch quest. They need a scanner and things to make a hazmat suit.
The hunt is on.
This is interesting.
These two are being sought. How coincidental that our suspected aliens, Bunny and Bill, recently arrived to Strangerville.
I am working it into my story line.
Those two were discovered snooping around and had to make a desperate escape.
It all makes sense now.
I wish I could make sense of that mysterious cloud.
Mulder is now a covert operative and is looking quite dashing in The Suit.
Doorbell:
Ah, Bunny and Bill have finally been caught and shipped to the compound.
After a thorough investigation by the government and a consideration of interplanetary protocols, they aren't prisoners, but they aren't free to roam around at will either.
In other words, no one wants an advanced civilization angry over how their people were treated while on Sim Earth.
"I am operative Dana Scully and he is operative Fox Mulder.
Welcome to the compound."
"Hi. I am Reela Lux and this is Blix Satuun."
"We are from planet Sixam."
"Reela, I hear this is not your true form."
"This is true, Operative Scully.
We can transform our bodies. 'Shapeshift', as you say. Let us demonstrate."
"Wow, that's amazing."
"You national security people agrees. They want to hire us for espionage."
Mulder isn't impressed.
"What I want to know is where is my sister! She was abducted by your kind years ago when we were children."
"'My kind' isn't going around abducting humans. That sounds like the Greys.
Those emotionless evil little runts are giving us a bad name across the galaxy."
"Alright Blix, perhaps you can help me track her down after we are done with this mystery here in Strangerville."
"I'll see how I can help, once we have a ship again, Fox."
"Our ship was destroyed. We had to bail out in a escape pod.
Your government has the wreckage. It's all pretty useless now."
"What the..."
Lionel is a bit overwhelmed with this alien disclosure.
"Yep, they are real, Lionel."
"So, do you have telepathic abilities. Reela?"
"Like this?"
"It helps me understand other sentient beings."
"Well this sentient being doesn't like it. It's rude without permission."
"Okay, Dana."
"I have another question for you Reela. Did you bring any biological specimens to our planet?"
"Well... uh..."
"That's what we were trying to find out. These plants don't seem native to your planet.
We don't know if something came with us by accident, or if you government was experimenting with genetic manipulation."
"We are offering out help even though your people don't seem to want to reveal all they know."
Scully takes Reela downstairs to Lionel's lab.
"This is were we are setting up our base for scientific investigation Reela."
"We have a device that can condense spores into a sizeable sample."
"We need to gather quite a bit."
Lionel has been adding new devices to the lab. This cloning machine is one of them.
Unfortunately they can't use it to clone spore samples.
"It looks like we have lots of work to do, Dana."
This is a milestone.
I was playing to get to this point, so I can save this compound and all six sims to my library.
If I ever play Strangerville in a new save, this group will be added to the townies while I play other sims.
Great update! I like the storyline you are following, making the aliens part of the conspiracy. Just shows how good of a story teller you are!
I like where it's going, and I do really like these sims.
However, I am a bit stalled right now and I have decided to put TS4 aside until we have University.
It seems likely that a Tropical destination pack is next, so I might have a wait.
I am currently really enjoying TS3 now, and I have several households that I want to play through.
If by some miracle University is next, then I will force myself through Strangerville and get back to Miss Peregrine and all my other sims in that save.
So... I got this, even though I haven't finished Strangerville.
I believe The Sims Studio are a very cunning group of people.
They finally give us loungers in a patch.
Only they are so lifeless in them.
And our sims can float in their swimming pools.
But wouldn't this look so much more interesting in an Island setting?
And that's when they hook you!
Island Living is pretty and very relaxing, which is why I find this pack very appealing.
However, even paradise gets boring after an extended amount of time there.
And that's why I don't want my sims to live there. I want to regret leaving and look forward to returning.
I get it that this pack is about living there,
but considering how many simmers wanted a tropical island vacation getaway, it boggles my
mind that no concession was made to at least owning a vacation home there.
No hotels necessary, no BNB necessary, just tweaking the existing game play to allow sims to own a second home and request vacation time to stay there instead of a daily vacation time call.
I tried it out with my celebrity sims from Del Sol Valley. The paparazzi were so annoying and they came inside the house despite locked doors. I gave up on it sent, them back to Del Sol Valley and sold the retail property.
I then had Yuki and Candy Behr buy it and things are so much better.
It's a bit annoying to have to call in for vacation time everyday, but it works basically.
I made over the Sand Bar bar to be more of a party place and I really love the lot.
It make Sulani feel more like a tourist destination now, but that's how I am playing it anyway.
My Celebrity sims giving the vacation home (retail store lot) a test run.
Paparazzi arrives and heads to the ladder so he can climb onto the deck.
I removed the door so he can't get in.
This one is locked and temporarily keeps him out, but...
...there must be an action that they do that does not recognize a locked door on a retail lot.
So back to Del Sol Valley for my famous sims.
Candy Behr and Yuki take it over, ading some more color to the place.
That's Candy getting a tan, au naturel.
I made over the Sand Bar bar.
Yuki is feeling moody because she didn't like the fruit salad Candy made for breakfast.
It's still early so they play cards for fun.
I really like this place.
Melonie was one of my Celebrity sims that owned the vacation house previously.
She is visiting Sulani on her own. I see she has a tan.
Candy is the one with a deep tan.
I sent them out for some snorkeling to pass the time.
Later that evening the bar is packed with sims.
My famous sims are there getting all the attention.
And this is a mermaid.
I know because I had went into CAS to edit her and discovered she was a mermaid.
Too bad they used up most of their vacation time already.
I want them to get to know her. They will have to invite her over to Windenburg when they get back.
I am glad that these celebs are my sims, otherwise I would be highly annoyed with them.
So great place.
I just have to get to know more natives and invite them along so there are more islanders represented in this place.
I love this pack and yes, it can get "boring" living in paradise...lol, just kidding. I've been getting my sim living in Sulani out to investigate the other "neighborhoods" and fishing spots. I'll be adding loungers and floats to private pools, love the pizza slice and the swan. Just a little disappointed this wasn't Uni but recovering nicely since we'll be getting witches in the fall.*running around, flailing arms*

The cool thing is I will have Sulani ready to go when my Uni students get together for that spring break.
THIS IS A TEST!!!
Uploaded before Photobucket extortion.
Uploaded after Photobucket Extortion
A different photo as a control group pic.
Photobucket started watermarking my pictures after a certain bandwidth level is reached.
I didn't get this when they first changed their policy because I was a paying customer and people were bailing when they found out Photobucket wanted $400 dollars for third party site hosting.
They quickly dropped that plan.
But now my time has run out and I have to pay more money for decent service.
I went for the plan that stopped them from compressing my images. I was wondering how some people had these super sharp images on the forum. Apparently their hosting site wasn't compressing the images as much as Photobucket was.
Yikes! Um that's a little steep. Your pictures are some of the clearest and sharpest I've seen on the forums.
I used to have Photobucket and so did my sister who used to tell stories over on Carl's Sims 4 Forum, she is a moderator there, but Photobucket had started limiting her videos so she and I both stopped using them. I use Imgur now but don't take near the pics that you and storytellers in general tell. I mostly go for stories in my head, maybe I should start writing them down, lol. Have you looked into them?
Edited because I can't spell.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
Anyone enjoying this as a new thematic wrapper should feel ripped off because they are only getting one theme instead of the two that their $40 dollars should bring them.
I am playing Island Living like the expansion pack it has been labeled to be.
But I need other packs to do it.
This is an update from what I posted in the earlier pages.
From City Living, I am expanding what is available to Vaughn Noble who is living in a budget apartment in San Myshuno.
He has to endure noisy neighbors when he is trying to sleep or get some late night writing done.
Fortunately his low cost living has allowed him to buy land In Sulani, using The Get To Work feature of buying retail property.
If this was a true expansion, it would be Vacation Property and I wouldn't have to use this work around.
He slowly built up his property between visits to this comfy little vacation home.
Now he can write in peace and reap the benefits of a lot trait that helps his writing.
Living in San Myshuno makes visiting Sulani all the more special.
Unfortunately he doesn't get the full benefit of Sulani neighbors because the pack does not recognize this lot as a home,
but that is okay, he is a foreigner after all.
Of course not all my sims can go making this investment when they only want to sample Sulani for a weekend here or there, so I added this beach/camping grounds lot. (Outdoor Retreat) Sorry Fetu, but the whole world is going to enjoy this Sulani expansion pack..
Anyway, Vaughn joined a group of Sulani natives (Get Together clubs feature) to help clean up the mess visitors and world pollution was bringing to the land.
This is lengthy, so it gets a spoiler tag.
He began to fall in love with one of them.
He gave her a key to his apartment so she could visit him in San Myshuno.
On one of those visits he discovered she was a mermaid. (Oh splash!)
He was fine with it.
Sulani is nice and relaxing, but it's missing some adventurous elements. That cave rabbit hole just doesn't do it for me.
A shark attack would be cool, but I haven't done much snorkeling and scuba.
So Vaughn and his mermaid companion are off to Selvadorada. (Jungle Adventures)
This particular Sulani doesn't mind a little adventure. You would think her world would have some hidden secrets to explore.
And this place is no paradise.
They are prepared for insects, spiders, and other surprises, but eventually those items run out.
It's great to have a mermaid around to remove that uncomfortable moodlet.
I wish she could do more in moodlet management.
I have to say I was really worried about Kala' and dehydration.
They didn't have any waterfall in a bottle and they were pushing on to find a place they could camp near water.
It was a relief when they found it.
She was in the red.
This was one of those special sim moments.
They eventually had to return to the rental house to resupply.
Waterfall in a bottle--great stuff!
They finally made it to the big treasure.
And since their vacation home is actually a retail store, they can sell those artifacts for more profit.
"Wow, you braved Selvadorada to get these items. I'll gladly pay you double. It's better than going up against a jungle cat."
Vaughn has big plans. He wants to build a very nice home in one of the other worlds for Kala, and also a nice vacation home with room for the children they will have. They will eventually retire and live in Sulani.
Also really liked Vaughn and the mermaid story. She really took a chance to be that far away from water, she could have ended up Dried Husk of a mermaid, lol.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
This pack might have been my first skip, if it had not been for that camera in that sim's hand.
I saw the Live Stream and all the game play and features related to photography has me intersted in this pack.
I don't care for Moschino as a brand itself, but there might be a few clothing items I might use, plus hair.
This pack is going to make me start my Get Famous starlets over again.
They started out in San Myshuno as teens with part time jobs back then.
Melonie was pursuing comedy.
Olivia was going to be a Stylist.
Meadow was pursuing acting.
Monique was into music, but mainly because photography didn't have much depth to it as a career at the time.
They did do CosPlay in their earlier years.
I did like taking pictures, and I liked having pictures on the walls.
But I could have enjoyed it much more if I had what the Moschino stuff Pack will be bringing to photography.
It feels too late to enjoy what Moschino will bring though.
Meadow has made it as an actress.
Olivia is a stylist to superstars.
Melonie is a successful comedian and comedy writer.
They have plenty of cash.
And a mansion in the hills of Del Sol Valley.
This is where I Ieft them, I was going to do mega parties since that is an area of TS4 that I have yet to explore, but I got a bit tired of them and other packs had come out. I did have a great time with them and Get Famous.
So I am going to start them all over again and give Monique the career I wanted her to have.
She should have some synergy with Olivia's career to boot. Plus I had created so much content as I played them.
Starting them all over again with give them that content from the start and I can focus more on playing than creating.
So much for playing my Get Famous sims again.
Realm of Magic is going to send me back to my main Sims.
I will be playing Miss Peregrine again, along with all my other sims in that save.
I was saving them for when University it announced, but Realm of Magic fits in very well with my main sims and will be something fun to do while I wait for Uni and continue to progress my sims.
I am enjoying the expanded photography skill right now. I doubt if I'll ever use the actual career but taking great pictures of everywhere, Sulani, GF and Selvadorada. I'm taking great shots of my families now and I love it!
I'm using your tip of making a lot into retail and had my actress sim buy a lot in Sulani, hid the cash register and counter and she has a great place to go when the demands of work and life in the busy city start getting to her. Thanks for the tip!
I am beyond excited for the new pack. I'm not sure but I think I have watched the trailer around 10 times now, and counting. Love the trailer but Robbie hit it out of the park for the music...totally addicted to that song.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
Wow, three pack announcements on the same page.
I haven't been playing TS4 much. I didn't finish my Strangerville sims, and I kind of ran out of steam with my Island Living sims. We've barely had Moshino Stuff before Realm of Magic was announced.

I did love my get-aways to Sulani using the retail lot method.
It's great to have an change of scenery for a while.
I hope Realm of Magic turns out to be a really fun pack.
I had a great time with Supernatural's alchemy and magic in TS3. It will be interesting to see how the two compare.
Definitely, but I think this time around the devs have only one occult to concentrate on where in Sims 3, witches had to compete with other occults. Don't get me wrong, Supernatural was one of my most favorites out of all the eps but I really like the way they are managing the game and releases this time around.
Lol, I'm having a hard time keeping up too. I don't want to hear of anything else being released until Christmas.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
I don't want to hear of anything else being released until Christmas.
University!
My side-play with my sim's future selves has me questioning what they will do in the future.
Will Melonie, Olivia, Monique, and Meadow pursue fame?
Will Vaughn pursue writing and find a mermaid love interest in Sulani?
University will probably change all of that with the new career options it might bring, plus the University experience
itself. University usually determines who my sims partner up with.
I jumped into the game today and had a look around.
It's spring and Miss Peregrine was in the backyard and all the kids are at school.
The Christmas lights are still up.
I had to search around to find the decoration storage box.
And wow, I forgot that she was in full herbal elixir production mode.
I got to make some choices for when Realm of magic comes out.
Who will become witches?
Miss Peregrine is a natural.
I want her to focus more on alchemy and practical magic, plus I want her to have a bird familiar.
Lol, you have the same problems as I do, i.e. Winterfest decorations up well into spring, can't find the dang decorations box and when I give up and ready to buy another one but keep forgetting where in B/B mode it is.
I am looking for University to be the next ep. That is a feature that definitely needs a big pack to be as good as it should be. Keeping fingers crossed.
Miss Peregrine would be a good choice for a spell caster in the alchemy...my goodness but don't you have a lot of bugs! I use LittleMsSam's overhaul on the herbalism skill. You don't need bugs for her mod, she uses just harvestables from the garden. I was having a problem of catching the types of bugs needed, so this mod is right for me.
I love birds for familiars too. Love the owls and crows idea. The only animals currently in my saves is a lady with 3 Shiba Eneus (probably spelled that wrong) and they just don't project protection from death when they are an itty bitty dog, lol.
Edit because I can't spell.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
Comments
The search is on to find someone who can get them past the secret base's security door.
They started by heading to the library, where the scientists hang out.
It might help to have a few in the relationship panel in case they need to invite them over.
And also spy on them.
But now it's time to follow up on another lead:
The inhabitants of Strangerville had taken notice of two new arrivals to the town.
And they happen to be living here.
They look normal enough.
This is Bunny Happy
And this is Bill Happy.
OK, now the oddness starts with those names.
After some questioning, and "Welcome to the neighborhood", Dana lays a spy bug on bill.
Mulder has more questions for Bunny.
But then...
Goodbye, see yourself out, and all that.
This visit is over.
"Suspicions?"
"Aliens."
"She mind-probed you."
"We had better phone it in and have them rounded up."
Meanwhile, back at the ranch... uh, compound, Thea is snooping around Fox Mulder's living space.
"Well well, what have we here?"
Someone has been hoarding exotic fruit and not sharing it.
She can't resist a new taste experience.
Get ready for something new, taste buds.
"Eww..."
That wasn't tasty at all.
Why would anyone eat something like that?
Hoo, it's not going down well.
"Urk!"
"Ħ€Ř Ň€ŞŦ ƗŞ ĆŁØỮЀРƗŇ β€ΔỮŦ¥ Ŵ€ ĐØ ŇØŦ Đ€Ş€ŘV€ Ħ€Ř."
Aww, poor Thea.
We certainly have to do something about this now.

Will be waiting on the update!
Sorry, my day got away from me.
No time or mood to post all goings on Sim.
I am looking forward to Uni and Witches too.

mind that no concession was made to at least owning a vacation home there.
I find their rebranding very ugly and a bit tacky.
]
This simmer has shown them what they should do.
I hope they can toss our their pride and do the right thing.
Lol, I'm having a hard time keeping up too. I don't want to hear of anything else being released until Christmas.
Lights down.
