Thanks! Now I need to get up the bravery to post this in the Stories thread, or create my own thread for CAS/Builds and Stories. I'm really bad when it comes to putting my stuff out there.
@Faoiltearna Congratulations on the new blog, I'm following you now! Love how you've weaved the challenge into a story about being a 'keeper'' for the Sim National Forestry service. Very cool! I'm looking forward to reading more. Even though I kinda/sorta know what happens, it'll still be fresh and interesting because of the story you've made for it. #bravo

Happy Simming!
Thank you so much! I hadn't intended to tell a story when I first starting grabbing screenshots, but it sort of developed anyway. And of course, with all the complications and delays (which you kinda sorta know already ), it really started to flesh out. A few sleepless nights where my brain mulled over the story, and now we're here.
It won't be ending at the third generation, either. There's too much going on in my head for it to end that soon.
@Karababy52 and @Rawla - thank you both so much for the compliments! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. Looks like I need to get the next chapter written.
Okay, Chapter 2 is live. I don't have a lot of pictures right now, because it didn't become a story til I'd been playing for a little bit, so I don't have as many early days photos as I'd like. The Underwood Decision, Ch. 2

@Faoiltearna Just had a chance to read Chapter 2, loved it! Man, the amount of paperwork and the time to read/sign them all reminds me of when we bought our house. lol Seemed like it took forever! The realtor said they usually judge how quickly things are going by the amount of paperclips that slowly pile up.
It is very sad about her parents. I hope she doesn't hold a grudge her entire life and they have a reunion sometime in the future to clear the air. It's gotta be tough thinking you'll never see your children again, and that it was by their choice. Even if it is their dream come true. I like to think I'd have handled it better than her parents though. But who knows, hope I never have to find out. Anyway....
@Karababy52 I've never bought a house, but was there when first husband joined the military. There's a ton of paperwork to go through. We were at the recruiter's office all day, while he filled out everything. I even had paperwork to fill out and I wasn't the one signing up. Yeesh!
Heather's not the grudge holding type. Her mother is totally the hot-headed, hard-headed, ambitious type who would be deeply disappointed by her offspring's unwillingness to conform to the plan, and the one most likely to hold a grudge to the grave. Her dad is the one who took care of her while mom was working, but always under mom's micro-managing supervision, so their relationship is the one that might actually be able to be mended in the future. Dad's going to have to figure out how sidestep his wife if he wants to continue his relationship with his daughter.
Glass Roofs! Finally! Use them to create a greenhouse or just a gorgeous new structure. You'll find these in Build Mode. Be sure to share your creations with us on the Gallery!
We added Cold Weather and Hot Weather Outfit categories in CAS. Whatever clothing you use here will work for those weather types. That means these categories will work with custom content and storytelling.
We added a Swimwear category for toddlers.
We added a re-traiting potion. Huh? Yup! Go to the Satisfaction Store in the Aspiration panel and spend your satisfaction points. This lets you swap out your traits.
We overhauled the Gardening Skill in a big way! We revised the tuning and balance to make it a little easier and more profitable. Less drudgery, more money!
We synchronized plants to need water, etc. at the same time of day.
Seed Packets can be opened if placed on the ground.
There is a gardening sort in outdoor activities in Build to make it easy to find all the gardening equipment.
You can also buy seed packets in build now!
Gardening Evolution has been streamlined to 5 levels with better UI, plus we made the interaction immediate.
Uncommon and Rare Seed packets can be purchased once you're at higher levels of the gardening skill. This means you can just buy them instead of hunting them down in the world.
You can research plants (new interaction) to gain info for your notebook.
Research tells you things like the right growing season, sell price, and more.
You can now sell Harvestables directly from the plant.
Most interactions now have an "area of effect" option at higher levels so you can garden more quickly and efficiently.
The updated gardening system is currently generating multiples of all the plants found growing wild in the world.
Once these are planted some of the harvested plants are worth considerably more than before. KaChing!!
I am testing in a new save to see how long it takes to evolve them.
No changes will be made for now. I will continue testing once I can get seasons to see what type of minimum shelter will be required.
Chapter 3 is up! I haven't been playing while waiting for everything to settle down with the mods. I'm going to re-install MCCC and get everything going again so that I can get back to playing the Underwoods.

I loved your latest chapter! I could feel myself being there with her. And fishing barefoot? That was sooooo perfect!
How is everyone doing? As you already know gardening was updated via the patch before Seasons was released. I have been testing gardening in several different saves and have concluded things are a bit broken. This thread has links to threads on AnswersHQ with other players seeing the same issues. Evolving too slow and grafted plants not happening after gardening patch
I am not really sure what is going on but it is frustrating to say the least. I am not making any major changes at this point until it is confirmed the changes are intentional or not.
Hang tight and play on!
PS: If you are fortunate enough to get the Money Tree I will leave it to you whether you want to use it.
Since money is part of the goal it would certainly put a quick end to the challenge

My gardening isn't too bad. My spliced plants show that they're spliced, but not what plants they are. I know what they are, but only because I had them planted in specific planters. My snapdragon/dragonfruit/cowfruit berry plant has produced both the snapdragon and the dragonfruit, but so far I haven't seen any cowberries on it. My lemon/pear/plantain tree is showing all three though. Mind you, this is all sans Seasons, only the 19 Jun update. I just harvested everything last night, so we'll see in this next round if anything changes, if not, I'll start over with that splicing and see if that makes a difference.
And since, no Seasons, no money tree. I'm not sure I'd use it with this family, even if I did have it. Or if I did, it would be only after I figured out a way to add it into the story... and only after the founding generation had hit the §30,000 mark needed to be done with Stage 2.

An awesome blog it is too! I can't wait for more.
Thank you! I'll be trying to get a couple more chapters up this week. I have lots of pictures, so I have plenty to tell the story with.
Going to bookmark to follow.
