The forum changes are kinda wonky. Why are all of the Sims games bunched up and requiring multiple clicks to access and the focus of this forum being put on Sims Mobile? How many clicks does it take to get to the center of a Sims forum thread... geez! :relaxed:

Ah well... on a positive note, it's nice to see that no Sims game gets precedence any more, but focusing the forum on Sims Mobile?! Really?! :joy:

We all knew that when they moved Maxis under the mobile division they were going to push for this, but that being said if this is the direction of the and game and if TS5 is going to be mobile... bye bye, Maxis. Ain't nobody got time for that :-1:

Yep, the sudden focus on Mobile doesn't bode well for Sims 5, if there is one. I will not touch mobile.

It'll attract young people mostly but they are fickle, so it'll go the way of most mobile games and be replaced after a while. Is Sims Freeplay still going strong? There aren't many posts in their forum on here.

I don't like the way one pays for extra content bit by bit either.

Oddly, after my "boo hiss" review and initial panic over the death of The Sims for PC players, I kinda just got over it. Since Sims Freeplay never had any prominence, I never paid attention to it. I'll wait to see what happens with TS4 and whether EA is just going to try to milk the end of PC franchise and really just focus on mobile, or if they are going to develop for two different types of games. They made The Sims for PC Console, and I don't think those games ever competed with the main franchise. I don't think the Sims Online competed either.

I'm already used to the forum, and it looks like the forum developers are updating the PC section so that visitors can see the last post for PC games. Once they do that, I think it won't feel so much like Sims Mobile matters--but then again... I never scroll down further than the Previous Games forum :joy:

Agreed, if they only take Sims 5 in the mobile direction, it won't last long. Usually mobile games get popular for a while and then forgotten.

Sims Freeplay has never seen much in the way of discussion.

Part of that might've had to do with how difficult the forums were to find, but I also barely ever saw Let's Plays or Simblrs or any of the other ways people typically interact with game communities. The Sims Freeplay had virtually no community, outside of one or two dedicated Youtubers.

Maybe it was the audience it attracted: kids that are too young to be allowed online, or super casual gamers who are unlikely to stick with any game for long periods of time. You know, the core mobile demographic.

And if that's the case, I wonder what a forum will even do for The Sims Mobile.

I mean, I'm glad it's getting attention from Maxis, but I don't see it attracting the same kinds of people who care about the main series. This forum change could very well be pointless in the grand scheme of things.

But I hope it does well. It looks interesting. Not "main series Sim game" interesting, but it could be a decent time-killer.

It's almost like The Sims Mobile is being advertised.

Why can't that be all merged under 'The Sims Mobile' - ie like The Sims 4 and The Sims 3.

The Sims Mobile stands out on the forum now like a beacon beckoning people to it.

I vote crunch The Sims Mobile as per The Sims 4/The Sims 3 - then expand The Sims 4 up to fill the free-space - ie less crunching of The Sims 4.

ie make The Sims 4 the forum showpiece - not The Sims Mobile.

I agree, this app is not worthy of all the attention it gets on the main page.

It is being advertised :joy: Do what I do and totally ignore it. If enough fans ignore it, it'll just make EA's decision look silly... even if they say it won't be, I bet you it'll be changed if months from now there's no significant activity there (Please reality prove me right. Please reality prove me right. :bawling:)
