Sims 3 Things you didn't know!

Not sure if anyone else knew, but the reason they call that section floors/ceiling is because if you tilt the camera up you can get rid of that ugly ceiling and replace it with something better or worse. Not sure how I went years without knowing this, but alrighty. Lovely ceiling now though.

So I didn't know they had a weird bug where a toddler that's sick with the pestilence plague and has the urge to cough, will do that stretching thing like they do to go up and down ladders. But they don't do it for vomiting, that's just a cancelled action. Very creepy. Callie isn't super worried that her son is some kind of demon, she accepts as he is.

I had a child sick with a cold. She had the body ache moodlet from being sick. It took me by surprise when she did the reaction to the backache.

I mean, I figured tents had all the functions of beds, but since I'd never played WA until recently, I hadn't seen it for myself.

It's a tent that I think you can only get if you are a Level 3 Traveller at any of the World Adventures locations - China, France, or Egypt. I can't remember if the colors are different for all three countries or not, though.

Thank you so much, carlystur03. Now, see, I've played all this time and never made it to level 3! Had no idea about that tent. This game is so awesome!

@jaletu2005 It's called the Sultan's Tabernacle, and as @carlystur03 said, it's available for purchase in WA locations, from the special merchant. It takes a level 3 visa and around 2,700 ancient coins (not simoleons). My sims bought this one in France. For reference, this is what it looks like in the afternoon light:

(Yes, that's the town square. What? They're young and full of life and just split a bottle of nectar. They really cannot help themselves.)

Thank you for clarifying that for me. It's been a while since I've played a traveller that got those tents. :)

The Sultan's Tabernacle is the same color for all 3 WA worlds. But once you get one, there are three default colors you can change it to, if you want.

Your Sim will get a "Polar Bear Club" moodlet if they go swimming in the sea in winter.

I just confirmed all of my genies, including the toddlers, have level 10 in the magician career.

I always knew mermaids start at level 10 in scuba diving but didn't know that genies are at level 10 in the magician career.

That would be Level 10 in the hidden Magic Career skill, right? Stands to reason that they wouldn't need to develop skills any further to succeed at those magic tricks, for genies it should be around as easy as breathing. :)

I don't know all the ins and outs of it. I just noticed that they all have level 10 in the Magician Career when I check their toddler skills with Master Controller.

It is quite logical to me that they would be good at magic but never noticed all of them have it. At first I noticed the toddlers had it and thought it might be a glitch but it isn't. Also the clones have interesting traits. I have a toddler mermaid with the flirty trait. Obviously he had it when he came out of the science machine.

If you send your sims to a game at the sports stadium, if you hover your cursor over the icon at the top left, you can see the score as the game progresses. ;)

A way simpler to earn money, to go in the future and to look at the results of the bingo to the city hall

There is one for Sims 4, so why not for Sims 3 as well?

I mostly created this thread so I could share this very important piece of knowledge:
If a Sim's bladder fails while the Sim is standing near a fire, the peeing will extinguish a bit of fire :D

wow I have been playing for years as well and did not know that one :)

    @puzzlezaddict

like other players have commented that tent is so cute and I had no idea about how to get that despite loving WA I wonder if I know anything about this game at all :s

Like one book is called 'Oh, the Destinations You'll Visit' or something like that. Based on Dr. Seuss's 'Oh, the Places You'll Go'. Plus there's 'Jimmy Sprocket and the Squishy Stone'. Probably a spoof of 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'?

It is "Oh the destinations you'll briefly visit". as to the "Jimmy Sprocket" series I'd always associated it with Nickolodeon's show "Jimmy Neutron", though as you pointed out all but the MC's name seems to be a reference to the "Harry Potter" series.

The Sultans Tabernacle tent can also be recolored in build/buy mode. I like to purchase them and leave them in parks and beaches in my sims home towns for naps and woohoo! You end up with a LOT of ancient coins as an explorer after all. You can also sell it for a bunch of simoleans if you need some actual cash.

@Pancakesandwich re: the ITF lotto win, if a Sim who wins a large sum by getting winning numbers in the future makes a significant donation to the Plan the Future (I think) charity at City Hall, they'll have a Legacy Statue in Oasis Springs next time they visit.

Oasis Springs is a neighborhood in Sims 4. You meant Oasis Landing, from ITF.

Did you know that if you send your street art simmie to any of the WA destinations and have them tag a wall in a tomb, the police will come get your sim? Well,I didn't and was quite impressed how the policeman was able to navigate the tomb and escort my poor sim out of the tomb and drop her off at base camp with a lecture about not doing that again then slapping her with a fine to boot. I figured it was safe to do since I'd never seen any police in the WA locations. Ugh! lol!
