Sims 4 Install Problem

This is kind of confusing so I hope you can understand, I installed the Sims 4 and I could not get the CC to install. I read to remove the mods folder and one would be created when I start the game, that will not work. I repaired the game, uninstalled and reinstalled and when I start the game everything I have done is still there, my sim and house so the game will not uninstall and it also will not install the files I need to put in CC. I hope this makes sense to someone. How can I start a new save and the files I need to download. This is for windows 10.

When you uninstall the game, it doesn't remove your documents -electronic arts -sims 4 folder which contains your save games (saves folder) and the sims /builds that you have saved to your library ( tray folder) . This still remains.
To start a fresh new sims 4 folder, you need to move the whole sims 4 folder to the desktop. Then start the game and a new sims folder will be generated. If you want to keep your save games, and the creations that you have in your library, copy back the saves and tray folders from the sims 4 folder that you had on the desktop, replacing the new saves and tray folders with your old saves and tray folders,

Thanks so much Rosemow, I will keep trying or I will just give up and still play Sims 3. Either one is fine at this point, seriously been working on trying to figure this out since yesterday. Even fired up my old laptop to see how it was installed and having my son help, searching the internet and it seems like it should be fine and it isn't.

Are you missing a mods folder?
If you are, create a folder in the sims 4 folder and name it mods. Go to this link thread, and half way down the page there will a picture of a drive with an arrow on it . Press that and download the file.That is a resource.cfg file that you can download and place in your mods folder. . You will need to take the file out of the zipped file and place it into the mods folder.

Then put your cc/mods into the mods folder and see if they appear.

Also, go to game options and check that the " enable custom content and mods" button is ticked, which is found in :
Options | Other | Enable Custom Content and Mods. If it isn't ticked, do that.Also check that the script mods allowed button is ticked as well. Exit the game. Then go back into the game again and see if the cc appears then .

Make sure that you have extracted the package files out of the zipped folder or the rar file that they came in,
Try placing the package files directly into the mods folder without being in sub folders.
Check that the files are for sims 4, and not for sims 2 or 3.
