Functioning Ladder?

I hope I'm posting this in the right category, if not I apologize.

Does anyone know of where I can find a functioning ladder for my Sims to use rather than the stairs? Trying to build some micro houses, and the stairs take up an awful lot of space. Thanks so much!

I think ladders came with Island Paradise in Sims 3. Or they may have been patched in before...not sure!

Sims 3 has ladders even if you only have base game, so long as your game is patched. They can be found in the stairs section in the tab with spiral staircases.
