I went to start the challenge today and found that my TS4 game is insanely laggy. It has bad sound that drags and clicking is delayed. No other applications were open except for the internet. Last year I only had GTW and the base game, and when I played the challenge there were no issues. Now I have all of the EPs, all the GPs except for Vampires, and almost all of the SPs. Should I uninstall these? Has anyone else experienced extreme lagging in the game?
Using 64-bit version, Nvidia graphics and HD sound, 16G memory, on an MSI ApachePro 2hr70 2PE gaming laptop with i7 (skylake, not kirby lake). Again, never had problems like this before and could play with TS2 and TS4 and SimPE running at the same time.
Had to quit the challenge as this was just painful to play. Might as well have been trying to play on a toaster.

Have you tried the following?:
1. repairing your game: sometimes game files get messed up. In Origin, right-click TS4. Select "Repair Game". It's pretty much the same as uninstalling but you don't lose progress or families (origin checks if install files are OK and fixes any errors).
2. Remove any mods. It sounds like you haven't played the game in a while so if you used any mods they're probably outdated and they may be causing the problem.
this probably sounds obvious and you may have done it already but try repairing the game.

If none of the above work try the following
Reset your TS4 folder. Just on the off chance you might not know how..
First save the following that apply from "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sim 4
Tray
saves
Mods
Screenshots
Recorded Videos
Custom Music
Options
Once you have saved them to different location onto your computer delete your TS4 folder and load your game. It will automatically create a new TS4 folder.
Another thing you can do is restart your computer

There are a few things to try to see if they may help with your issues.
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there.
Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
Lower your graphics settings and see if that helps.
Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder
Try switching to 32 bit mode and see if that mode helps the lagging issues
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go,to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game
Try playing in off line mode and see if that helps.
If your sims live in San Myshuno, try moving them to another wirkd
Check to make sure that your graphics drivers are up todate.
