Modding Sims game

I played Sim 1 to Sim 4. Playing TS3 and TS4 currently.
Especially for TS3 and TS4, I feel especially the need to add mods like MC command center, NRAAS story progression, overwatch, errortrap etc. In order to clean up, or facilitate better, create more options, run the game smoother, and for many reasons.
Yes sure you can choose not to use Mods if you don't want to. But should we be so dependent on Mods on improving gameplay experience? should EA do more? I find the community is fixing up things that is broken or not optimised within the games. Not every Sim player is tech savvy and goes to community forum to seek help though.
Just my two cents.
