I would like any more clothes for masculine frames... Lol. With the release of HSY and clothing preferences, I made some townie households. 8 Lady sims and 8 gentleman sims so I had 1 of each gender with each clothing style. It was super easy to give all the ladies a very unique look with varying colors. Very different story with the gents... Even just adding some new color swatches to the masculine clothes could go far. But my gent townies was a lot harder to create as a lot of the options I had were reds, blues, and black. I didn't have a lot of choices in some of the different styles and then some of them overlapped into other styles so it was a little difficult to make them all look different enough and not all in the same colors. How am I supposed to give all my sims different color and style preferences when all the clothes are the same colors or overlap styles they don't like? Lol.
I notice with gratitude that they added a few older looking hairs for men, because before that, it was nearly imps to make a believable sim man who wasn't still sporting hair only guys under 25 can generally have, only in some gray color that was so uniform it was plastic looking.
Hairline first, and thickness next, really function as indicators of age and stage of a man's life in ways that aren't true for women generally: you can just glance at the hairline and in very young guys it's often rounded or straight, but a few years into their 20s and sometimes before, the stair step starts appearing at the temples, that jig-jag that can start office 90 degrees, then het more acute of an angle as hair recedes a bit into the corners. Some guys get a front tuft, increasingly isolated from the rest, and some keep the front but start thinning at the crown and end up with a Friar Tuck.
For those who don't have pattern balding, like the men in my family, they just get those forehead corners receding and some overall thinning.
That's basically what I have: those shapr high corners on either side of my forehead that make my hairook like it has a very wide separation between forehead hair, and sides, but it's the thinking all over, especially. The sides and front, that make it so I can't really pull off much besides a military-style buzz.
I tried growing it a bit to see if maybe I could have more on top, maybe do the longer stuff on top with texture that hangs over the forehead, and it looked and felt ridiculous because the texture was so thin you could still see right through it. Doesn't help that it's so pale. Or maybe that does help, keeps the contrast down between scalp and hair so it isn't so obvious just how thin it is, so long as I keep it really short.
But in Sims, everyone has a full thick head of hair til the day they die, even if it's gray, and before, all of it looked Ike the hairline of very young men.
I'm glad they included some salt n pepper (looks weird on that high school guy though), some stages of pattern balding, etc.
I wish there were a few more hairline and styles that look realistic for men last 25 or 30, but am glad there are at least a few.
Will check out the cc mentioned here, though I'm guessing it's mostly young-guy hairline and styles.
The biggest reason older men don't often wear young men's hair styles is that they just can't pull it off without it looking bad on thinner hair or too much receeding.
Do they have any Aloha shirts yet that aren't either tucked in (I have never seen anyone tuck in a Hawaiian shirt and it makes no sense) or else not tucked in, but either shavboly hanging by one button, or not buttoned at all, hanging open like an untied bathrobe.
I just want to be able to wear a Hawaiian shirt that's buttoned, but untucked.nothing weird or extreme.
I think that's the biggest problem with men's options in the sims4: someone seems to find ordinary menswear boring, so they keep trying to jazz it up by making it too weird. Someone should look⁵ at men's clothes in a store, and take notes.
It's not rocket science, most men don't want to be looking like fashion runway extremes or make statements that make their clothes the center of attention. In fact that'sthe oppositeof what any guy I know, wants..
I can't often get close enough to my sims to notice such tiny details as pupils but of course love any creepy additions. That's not specific to men though.
I just wish boxers or boxer briefs were not the only options. I'm a briefs guy myself and have been annoyed at how in some stores, boxer briefs seem like all there is.
I find briefs most attractive on my male sims too and enjoy having them sleep in briefs so they can get breakfast on a lazy day off, in nothing but briefs, as one does. 😁 tighty whities are the best.
